The Other Side
Reactions varied from place to place.
Amazon Lily: Nine Snake Island
"Grandma, do you know this man's past?"
Inside the royal palace, Boa Hancock, the Pirate Queen and one of the Shichibukai, stood tall and graceful. Her voice carried a regal arrogance mixed with disbelief.
The former emperor of Nine Snake Island, affectionately called "Grandma Ze," looked up from the news in Hancock's hands. The old woman examined the article, attempting to uncover details about the mysterious man who had emerged from North Blue.
However, there was nothing.
Shaking her head gravely, Grandma Ze replied, "This man is likely a hidden monster, living among the masses. At least during the Rocks Pirates era, or even Roger's time, there were no rumors of such a figure on the seas."
She turned her gaze to Hancock.
"Snake Princess, don't get any strange ideas. Although this man possesses overwhelming power, bringing down the World Government is not something that can be achieved by one person alone."
Grandma Ze's expression turned serious.
"Even the Marine Admirals are merely pawns of the World Government. Back then, even the Rocks Pirates, as powerful as they were, could not escape destruction after challenging those at the top. They disbanded, reduced to a footnote in history."
Hancock's face darkened as her eyes narrowed.
"Are you lecturing me on what to do?"
The mother-in-law shook her head, sensing the stubbornness and emotional nature of the Snake Princess.
"I'm only offering advice based on the past. By the way, Marine called for the Shichibukai to assemble yesterday. I rejected their summons, citing your poor health."
Grandma Ze cast her eyes toward the waters surrounding Amazon Lily.
"The current Grand Line is in chaos. Kaido, Whitebeard, the World Government, and now that monster—whose strength is as deep as the abyss—are all moving. This is far beyond what the Marines can handle alone. I suspect the World Government itself may have to act directly."
Hearing this, Hancock clenched her delicate fingers tightly, her brows furrowing slightly.
Mariejois: The Holy Land
Inside the hallowed chambers of the World Government, an empty yet imposing meeting room hosted its most powerful figures.
"Any proposals on how to handle that criminal?"
The sharp-eyed Five Elders spoke in turn, their expressions grim.
Standing before them was Kong, the current Generalissimo of the World Government Army and former Marine Marshal. Despite his high status, Kong could only attend the meeting while standing, a testament to the authority of the Five Elders.
The "criminal" they referred to was none other than Bai Ye, the subject of today's urgent meeting.
At first, Bai Ye was seen as a mere insignificant rebel, a bug to be crushed without effort. The World Government believed his eradication was inevitable, like all others who dared to defy their rule.
However, after ordering the Marines to deal with him twice—and failing twice—Bai Ye's reputation had grown while the World Government's prestige had faltered.
Marine's face was of little importance to the Five Elders. What mattered was the threat Bai Ye posed to the World Government's authority and rule.
Thus, the Five Elders, representing the peak of power and the Celestial Dragons' supreme authority, had convened to address the crisis personally.
After 800 years of unchallenged rule, the World Government was prepared to act decisively once more, ensuring the world understood the folly of defying them.
A Nearby Island
Host: Bai Ye
Current Template: Yamamoto Genryūsai
Zanpakutō: Ryūjin Jakka (Unlocked)
Shinigami Abilities: Kidō (Unlocked)
Physical Techniques: Hakuda (Unlocked)
Template Progress: 62.5%
As Bai Ye felt a surge of power coursing through his body, he mused thoughtfully:
"The key to increasing the template's progress lies in combat. The stronger the opponent, the faster the progress accelerates."
After his recent battle, his template progress had increased by 2%. While this might seem small to some, the strength associated with his current template—the mightiest Shinigami of the Soul Society—meant even a fractional gain was monumental.
The first half of the Grand Line was no match for Bai Ye's power. As the pieces fell into place, Bai Ye realized his enemies' actions would only hasten the World Government's downfall.
Arrival on the Island
Bai Ye had arrived on an island near Alabasta. His white shirt, destroyed in his last battle, needed replacing.
The town was unremarkable, populated mostly by elderly residents and children. Few paid attention to Bai Ye as he entered. To him, this was ideal—he had no intention of staying long or bringing unnecessary trouble.
After purchasing a replacement shirt, Bai Ye prepared to leave when a sudden commotion erupted.
The townsfolk, upon hearing the noise, scrambled to hide, clearly afraid of what—or who—was approaching.
Bai Ye frowned.
Pirates? No... Marine.
He turned toward the harbor and spotted a broken Marine warship. His sharp eyes caught sight of the corrupt Marine colonel disembarking, accompanied by his men.
The townspeople's fear of the Marines was more intense than that of pirates, revealing a deeper rot within.
Moments later, Bai Ye confronted the Marine colonel, his eyes cold and unyielding. From the colonel's fragmented memories, Bai Ye learned the horrifying truth: the man had been working with slave traders, capturing civilians from his jurisdiction and selling them for profit.
Without hesitation, Bai Ye ended the corrupt colonel's life.
"Justice? Most of these so-called Marines are rotten to the core."
With the town freed from the Marines' grip, Bai Ye departed. The chaotic first half of the Grand Line was once again stirred into frenzy by his actions.
The Whitebeard Pirates
Elsewhere, the Four Emperors' Whitebeard Pirates had vanished from their camp in the New World.
When Bai Ye heard the news, he realized:
"The Summit War is about to begin."
As a traveler from another world, Bai Ye remembered how events would unfold. The Whitebeard Pirates would coat their ships to sneak into Marineford. By the time the New World forces noticed their movement, the Whitebeard Pirates would already be dangerously close to their destination.
The biggest clash between pirates and Marines—a war that would reshape the world—was imminent.
And Bai Ye was ready.
