Chapter 27: Coffee

Once he had completed his scene for the day, Jonny did not waste any time in replenishing. He stepped into the shower, where the hot water washed off the tiredness of the workday. While washing himself clean, he could not help but remember Amie. She had texted him earlier, inquiring if he could meet her for coffee. It wasn't a date—that is, at least, what he was continuing to tell himself—but he knew that somewhere deep within him, he felt otherwise.

Putting on the dressing in some loose but clean clothes—black jeans, black tight t-shirt, and denim jacket—he looked at himself in the mirror. Not too flashy, not too sloppy. Too perfect. Satisfied with himself, he took out his phone to text Amie.

Jonny: Leaving now. Ten minutes.

She answered at once.

Amie: Already there! Looking forward.
