Vivienne's gaze met my eyes, calm as a still pond, and her face showed a panic I'd never seen before.
She froze for a moment, then, seemingly struck by a thought, her lips curled into a sneer:
"Zoran, how could you possibly break up with me when you love me so much?"
"Don't think I don't know. You just invested over three million in my brother's business and promised to buy him a mansion. Who would believe you're breaking up with me?"
"You're just upset that I'm pregnant with Nolan's child, aren't you? You're saying all this to deliberately provoke me, right?"
A crowd of gossip-hungry onlookers had gathered at the office door.
"What? She was dating our Mr. Blakely but got pregnant with someone else's kid? I swear I could punch that morally bankrupt woman into dust."
"I can't believe Mr. Blakely is such a lovesick fool. How can he tolerate this? It's not like she's a supermodel or anything. She wouldn't even stand out in a crowd. Mr. Blakely deserves so much better."
