As the maids set the table, they held their conversations while eyeing the food. The breakfast was set up family style with a plethora eggs, sausages, smoked meats, biscuits, rice and fruits.
Their empty cups where filled with their choice of drinks. There was orange, grape and apple juice as well as milk for the twins. Which was their preferred choice of drink for breakfast.
After a few of the maids left with the carts and a few stayed in the dining room for their immediate needs that might arise, the family started to pass around the plates of food while making theirs.
Aira made hers and the twins plates while Maxwell had already started to dig into his food hungrily. Which caused the twins to giggle at how fast their father can eat food and because they knew what was going to happen next. After all it happens almost everyday.
Sighing Aira put the plates back in the middle of the table after filling theirs and looked at her husband with cold eyes and a fake smile on her face and said
"Now honey… couldn't you have waited a minute so we can all eat together?"
Felling the coldness of her glare cause Maxwell to freeze mid bite. Slowly looking up he gave her a guilty smile. This caused the twins to bust out laughing
"Hahaha Father never learns does haha he?"
"No Dada doesn't hahaha"
"Hahaha" "Hahaha"
The kids laughter broke the cold silence that their parents created and rung like a sweet melody. Which caused their Aunt and Maxwell to start laughing as well. Aira put her head down to hide the big smile on her face while telepathically communicating to her husband
'Thank you honey for making them laugh, it's so precious'
'Anything to ease your day dear'
After the laughter died down they all began to eat together.
…
After an hour of eating and talking it was around 9 in the morning. It was time to say farewell to Maxwell and Aira that where heading to the Sect together.
They all headed down to the basement floor that had stone stone walls and pretty plain. There where a few doors that led to separate areas but they where headed to the stone steps that was the only entrance and exit to the house.
After walking down 40 or so steps they reached a 9 foot tall metal door. Maxwell went up and opened it with his hands like it was nothing but from the sound it made the twins could tell it was very heavy.
The light that broke through as the doors opened made the twins shield their eyes with their arms. After a few seconds of their eyes adjusting to the light their eyes greedily began to look at the view.
Stepping through the door they arrived on a small stone platform. To the left was the side of the mountain. To their right was a 4 foot tall wooden fence that protected people from falling off the mountain. Infront of them was a 5 foot wide path that continued down the mountain.
Both the twins grabbed onto one of their mothers hands and excitedly yet nervously dragged her over to the fenced viewing area. It wasn't everyday that they got to go this far out of the house.
Taking in the view they saw the morning fog and clouds covering the land with the sun's rays shining on top of it making it look like a silk flag gently rolling in the wind.
The neighboring mountain peaks poked past the clouds like ground hogs out and looking about. The sun reflected off their snow cover peaks. Their grey bodies casted shadows on the clouds like mountainous monsters.
The morning dewey air, filled with moisture they inhaled caused their tight grip on their mothers hand to relax as they took in the view.
Taking in the view for a few minutes before noticing that their father and aunt arriving behind them. They knew it was time for their mother and father to leave. They turned to their mother, hugged her legs and said in unison
"Have a good day at work Momma (Mommy), love you."
This caused Aira to tear up a little at the eyes but quickly blinked it away and smiled.
"I'll see you two later my sweet peas. Be good to Auntie Arian, love you too"
She bent down and gave them both a big hug and a few moments later separated as they all made their way to the path leading down the mountain. Before Maxwell and Aira could take their first step Atlas raised a question
"Momma i forgot to ask yesterday but what's the name of the Sect?"
Instead of Aira answering it was Maxwell beating her to it and he said with a big toothy grin
"It's called The Roaring Rivers Sect!"
Aira looked at her husband started to giggle then looked back at Atlas with a proud smile and nodded.
"Your father founded the Sect my little man. So it's something you can be proud of."
Atlas and Altair looked at each other then smiled and looked back at their parents and with a proud smile and yelled while waving
"Have a good day at work! We'll be good and learn with Aunt Arian so don't worry too much! Love you!"
This caused Maxwell and Aira to swell with more pride and feel vitalized. They slowly took a few steps down while replying
"We love you too!"
Atlas, Altair and Arian watched as they walked the path until they where consumed by the clouds that covered the path and couldn't been seen any longer.
"Alright kiddos time to learn"
Arian said with a big grin as they turned around to head back inside.
…
On the 3rd floor of the house Atlas and Altair sat at a circular table while Arian sat in front of them about to get started on their lesson for today.
The room they where in was the whole 3rd floor. It's octagonal in shape and more like a loft. Most of the walls where lined with shelves with books while some had antiques. Four windows face the cardinal directions in between the shelves. Two doors faced opposite directions that led out to the wrap around balcony.
One of the walls took up where the stairs from the second floor come up with a wooden banister and metal balusters that fenced in the stairwell area. At the top of the steps was one of the doors that led outside.
The table sat in the middle of the room with four chairs seated around it, three being occupied by Atlas, Altair and Arian. Two of the windows where cracked, letting in a weak enough breeze so that papers didn't go flying.
"Alright let's see… Okay so today you'll be learning about maths first; addition and subtraction which you should be far enough along now, multiplication and division and equations for 3 hours until lunch time.
After lunch it will be reading and writing for 3 hours, 1 and a half hours each. After that will be geography of our surrounding area, any questions kiddos?"
Arian asked but was met with reluctant grunt but they quickly got to work on their math problems.
Atlas and Altar would ask each other questions about their problems and talk about solutions first before asking Arian when they both didn't understand but for the most part got it figured out by themselves.
Thirty minutes before lunch Arian gave them a quiz which they both scored highly on and for finished just at the 3 hour mark. It was time to take a break and go eat lunch.
Making their way down stairs to the first floor, Arian asked a maid to bring the food out to the garden because they decided to eat out there and get from fresh air.
Arian led the twins hand in hand to go out the back door on the first floor that led outside. Opening the door the midday sun shone brightly and the sky was clear blue. In front of them was a stone path that will take them to the garden.
Walking down the path the garden, it was encircled by a tall shrubbery that held a vibrant greenery to it with hits of reds, purples and blues upon walking further.
Entering the circled in area, a small grassy area with no plants there, came into view. A blanket was played out with a basket with plates, bowls and cups on it. Beyond the grassy area and shrubbery the foliage blended into the mountain.
To the right of the small grassy area held the flower garden that Aira and Altair would tend to. Atlas would come along with and read a book while sitting under the shade of a tree.
Walking up to the blanket they sat all sat down. Arian handed them a plate, bowl and cup each. The she opened the basket that held sandwiches, fruits and a vegetable soup. She took them out and started to plate their food.
"You guys are okay with water right?"
"Yes Auntie"
Arian waved her hand and 3 balls of water hovered in the air and then made there way down to the cups. Atlas and Altair looked spellbound with their mouths agape at their aunt like they where seeing a god.
"H-How did you do that?"
Altair asked barely holding back her excitement. She couldn't care less about the food right now because she was seeing something magical happen before her eyes.
"Hehe it's secret for now little ones. You got a few more years and you'll get all the answers you want… well maybe not all but most."
She said with a smirk and then started to nod.
