I let out a sigh, allowing my body to lean against the damp earthen wall.
The pain in my shoulder grew sharper, making me wince slightly. Warm blood still trickled from the wound left by Emiya's last attack.
I glanced at the wound. It was deep. Not fatal, but if I left it untreated for too long, it could become a problem.
Without hesitation, I tore off part of my clothing and rolled it into a makeshift bandage. Quickly, I wrapped it around my shoulder, pulling the fabric tightly to stop the bleeding.
"Hhh… Alright."
I pressed against the wound once more, ensuring the makeshift bandage was strong enough to hold.
I couldn't stop here.
This journey was far from over.
After steadying my breath, I stood up and continued walking, leaving behind the battlefield where the previous fight had taken place.
The farther I walked, the more I noticed the changes in my surroundings.
The puddles of water that once covered the ground were now disappearing.
My steps felt lighter as the ground beneath me gradually rose, shifting from a wet path to a drier, more solid trail.
The tunnel was also widening.
The once narrow and damp earthen walls now felt more spacious and open. The atmosphere around me slowly changed.
I quickened my pace.
And in the distance, I saw it.
The end of the tunnel.
A faint light seeped through the cracks ahead, signaling that I was getting closer to my destination.
I took a deep breath.
Then, I stepped forward and finally reached the tunnel's exit.
I emerged from the darkness of the underground corridor.
As soon as my feet touched dry ground, I squinted my eyes.
Bright.
This place was vastly different from the tunnel before. There was no darkness, no puddles. Instead, a blinding light enveloped the area, as if I had stepped out of the underground and reached the surface.
But I was still deep beneath the ruins of the city. So where was this light coming from?
I scanned my surroundings. The space was vast, with towering stone pillars reaching high. The air was thick with magical energy, so strong that it made the atmosphere tremble.
And at the center of the room, hovering above an elevated platform, the Holy Grail shone with a golden glow.
But my eyes weren't only fixed on that.
Below it, in the middle of a fierce battle, I saw Artoria Pendragon (Alter) fighting against Cu Chulainn (Caster) and Mash Kyrielight.
The clash of weapons and bursts of energy filled the chamber, showcasing the intensity of their fight.
In the distance, I spotted Fujimaru Ritsuka and Olga Marie standing at the edge, watching the battle with serious expressions. They weren't interfering—perhaps waiting for the right moment.
I let out a breath, feeling the sharp pain in my wounded shoulder. The injury from my fight with Emiya was still there, limiting my arm's movement.
I couldn't use both arms as I normally would.
But that wasn't an excuse to back down.
I raised my uninjured hand and whispered,
"Come forth."
In an instant, a dagger appeared in my grasp.
I held it tightly, observing the escalating battle before me.
Then, at that moment…
A terrifying wave of black energy began gathering around Artoria Alter.
A powerful aura of darkness surrounded her as she raised her sword high, thick black energy swirling like a storm.
I held my breath. She was about to use it.
Excalibur Morgan.
Her Noble Phantasm.
The dark energy surged, exploding in all directions, causing the massive stone pillars around us to crack and crumble.
Cu Chulainn (Caster) clenched his teeth and braced himself, but before he could act—
"Lord Chaldeas!!"
Mash leaped forward, raising her shield with both hands.
A blue light radiated from her body as an incredibly strong protective energy emerged.
"Excalibur—Morgan!!"
Two Noble Phantasms collided.
A massive shockwave erupted throughout the chamber, shattering the floor and walls around us.
The air trembled. The sheer pressure of their clash was so immense that I was nearly thrown backward.
But I didn't waste any time.
This was my chance.
As quickly as possible, I activated my footwork and sprinted around the arena, moving toward Artoria Alter's back.
If she was focused on Mash, then I could land a surprise attack.
I raised my dagger, channeling mana into it, and then…
I leaped, lunging straight for her back.
But—
CLANG!!
My eyes widened as Artoria Alter turned in an instant, her sword immediately rising to block my attack.
'what the heck?!'
Her cold gaze pierced through me, her face devoid of emotion as she effortlessly parried my strike.
The impact pushed me backward, forcing me to twist my body mid-air to land steadily.
I stared at her seriously.
Her reflexes were still that sharp…
If I wanted to bring her down, I had to be more than just fast. I had to be smarter.
I tightened my grip on my dagger, locking eyes with Artoria Alter, who was now fully aware of my presence on the battlefield.
And with this, the final battle had begun.
I steadied my breathing, ignoring the pain in my shoulder from my previous fight. There was no time to think about pain now.
In front of me, Artoria Alter stood tall, Excalibur Morgan still pulsing with dark energy.
Her glowing eyes, filled with hatred, glanced in my direction.
She was aware of me now—which meant I could no longer rely on surprise attacks.
I clenched my dagger tightly as Mash and Cu Chulainn stood nearby.
They didn't recognize me. That was natural, as this was our first meeting.
Mash looked slightly confused by my presence, while Cu Chulainn simply raised an eyebrow.
"Oi, kid. Who the hell are you?" Cu Chulainn asked, still in a battle stance.
"This isn't the time for that," I answered briefly. "We have the same enemy, don't we?"
Cu Chulainn chuckled, seemingly unbothered by my response. "Heh, you think you can fight?"
I didn't answer.
Instead, I raised my dagger in front of me, ready.
Cu Chulainn smirked. "Well, if you're joining in, just make sure you don't get in the way."
Ahead of us, Artoria Alter had already returned to an attacking stance.
She said nothing. Only an overwhelming, oppressive aura filled the room.
And then—
She moved.
With astonishing speed, she slashed toward Mash, who remained in a defensive stance.
CLANG!!
Mash's shield blocked the strike, but the force of the blow was powerful enough to crack the floor beneath her.
Mash gritted her teeth but didn't back down.
Cu Chulainn and I didn't waste a second.
We immediately jumped to the sides, positioning ourselves for an attack.
Cu Chulainn raised his staff and fired a blast of explosive magic straight at Artoria's flank.
However, with incredible reflexes, Artoria swung Excalibur Morgan toward the spell, cleaving it apart mid-air.
That was my chance.
I leaped forward, slashing my dagger toward her neck.
But—
CLANG!!
With a single swift motion, Artoria blocked my attack with the flat of her blade.
My eyes widened.
'She can even deflect from this angle?!'
Before I could react, she swung her sword at me with immense force.
I twisted my body mid-air, trying to evade the slash, but the sheer pressure of the swing sent me flying backward.
I landed on one knee, but there was no time to recover—
Because Artoria was already attacking again.
However, before she could close in—
From the other side, Cu Chulainn hurled a fireball at her.
Artoria turned her attention to deflect the fireball, and in that instant, Mash rushed forward and slammed her shield into her.
BOOM!!
Artoria was knocked back several meters.
I wasn't going to waste this chance.
I leaped forward, activating my Noble Phantasm.
"Come forth, the shroud of night,
Veil the world in death's embrace,
Let the mist descend, silent and deep,
As shadows claim the land in grace."
A thick mist began to envelop my body, flowing out and spreading rapidly around me.
Artoria narrowed her eyes, sensing something unusual.
But before she could react any further, I was already right in front of her.
"Haaah!!"
I slashed at her body, and for the first time—
My attack landed.
My blade grazed Artoria's arm, leaving behind a small wound. Though minor, it was enough to prove one thing:
She was not invincible.
I took a deep breath.
I had wounded Artoria Alter—just a scratch, but it was enough to confirm one thing:
We could win.
In front of me, Artoria Alter did not show any signs of pain. Instead, her golden eyes sharpened.
And then, she moved.
"HAAAAH!"
Excalibur Morgan slashed toward me with terrifying speed, almost impossible to dodge.
I ducked, feeling the sharp wind pass just above my head.
But Artoria did not stop there.
With a single step, she instantly shifted to my side, launching a follow-up attack.
I raised my dagger to parry her strike.
CLANG!!
My hands trembled. Her strength was overwhelming.
I jumped back, but—
She was already chasing me at blinding speed.
But before her sword could strike—
CLANG!!
Mash intercepted the attack with her massive shield.
Mash groaned, her body slightly pushed back by Artoria's strength.
But she did not falter.
With one strong push, she shoved Artoria backward.
And as Artoria lost her balance—
"Heh, nice opening! Take this!!"
From the other side, Cu Chulainn leaped at high speed, his staff spinning in his hands before he slammed its tip toward Artoria.
Artoria attempted to block—
BOOM!!!
A massive impact shook the ground, leaving cracks beneath them.
Cu Chulainn landed and immediately continued his relentless assault.
Each thrust of his staff was swift, aimed directly at Artoria's weak points.
Yet, Artoria endured it.
With a swift motion, she twisted her body, dodging the final thrust, then slammed her elbow into Cu Chulainn's stomach.
"Gah!"
Cu Chulainn was flung backward, but before Artoria could pursue him, I had already re-entered the fight.
I dashed in from the side, my mist spreading once more.
Artoria turned to strike—
But I had already disappeared into my own mist.
"Hmph…!"
Artoria frowned but remained composed.
She slashed at the empty air—
And her sword nearly sliced my face!
I jerked my head back just in time, then lunged forward.
SREEKK!!
My blade struck again—this time at her side!
Black blood seeped from the wound, yet Artoria showed no sign of pain.
Instead, her expression grew even colder.
And then—
"EXCALIBUR—!!"
A dark aura erupted from her body.
I immediately leaped back.
Was she trying to activate her Noble Phantasm again?!
I clenched my teeth. If she completed her attack, we would all die.
I had to act fast!
I activated my mist once more and moved as quickly as possible toward her.
But before I could strike—
Mash leaped in front of me, raising her shield high.
"Lord Chaldeas!!"
A blue light enveloped her body, and her shield began to glow with maximum defensive energy.
BOOOOM!!
The black energy wave from Artoria's Noble Phantasm crashed into Mash's shield with tremendous force!
A violent storm formed around them, and the ground shattered into pieces!
Mash gritted her teeth, struggling to withstand the attack.
"I can't let her endure this alone!"
I immediately moved to Artoria's other side, preparing to strike from behind again.
But this time, Artoria had anticipated it.
SWOOSH!!
Without turning around, she kicked backward—
And I had no time to dodge.
"Ugh!!"
Her powerful kick struck my chest, launching me backward.
I rolled across the ground, coughing up a bit of blood.
"Oi, kid! Can you stand?!" Cu Chulainn shouted from a distance.
I gritted my teeth and forced myself to stand.
I could still fight.
I couldn't fall here.
I looked ahead—
Mash was still holding her ground, panting after enduring Artoria's Noble Phantasm.
Cu Chulainn stood a bit farther away, ready to attack if an opportunity arose.
But the decisive strike—
That was my role.
I steadied my breath.
Then, I activated my Noble Phantasm once more.
The mist engulfed the entire battlefield.
And within the darkness, I vanished.
Artoria paused, sensing my disappearance.
She stood in the middle of the fog, her glowing golden eyes scanning her surroundings.
But it was futile.
I was no longer just a fighter in this battle.
I was the hunter.
And she was my prey.
SWOOSH!!
Artoria spun around, slashing Excalibur Morgan toward the empty space.
"Show yourself, coward!"
But I didn't take the bait.
I kept moving within the mist, waiting for the perfect moment.
Mash was still standing, exhausted from holding back Artoria's attack.
Cu Chulainn was ready, waiting for an opening.
But this finishing blow—
Was mine.
I crept up behind Artoria, lifting my dagger slowly.
The mist churned as if acknowledging my intent.
And then, I whispered softly.
"Maria the Ripper."
My Noble Phantasm activated. My power surged drastically, and from the mist, several thin, razor-sharp daggers appeared in my hands—like the fangs of a starving wolf.
The first slash—shattered her black armor.
The second—pierced her side.
The third—severed the tendons in her leg, forcing her to kneel.
And then—I leaped onto her.
A single dagger remained in my grasp.
Artoria tried to turn, but it was too late.
With one swift and decisive motion—
I slashed my dagger toward her neck.
SREK!!
A sharp sound echoed through the mist.
And suddenly, the world fell silent.
Artoria's body froze.
Her eyes remained open, as if unable to believe what had just happened.
And slowly—
Her head separated from her body
Black blood sprayed from her severed neck, staining the ground beneath her.
I landed behind her, breathing heavily.
I had won.
Artoria Alter's body began to disintegrate, turning into golden particles carried away by the wind.
My mist also started to fade, vanishing along with her.
I looked down, exhaustion overwhelming me.
But I was still standing.
And before me, Fujimaru Ritsuka, Mash, and Cu Chulainn stared at me with mixed expressions—
Confusion, shock, and wariness.
They had no idea who I was.
And for now, that was for the best.
I gave a faint smile, then looked up at the sky above.
And slowly, my body began to dissolve into light.
It seemed my task here was complete.
Even though I didn't fully understand why I had become a Servant, or how I was chosen to resolve this Singularity—
Somehow, I knew this wasn't the end of everything.
This was not the end of my journey.
As I was staring at the sky, lost in thoughts about everything that had happened to me, I was suddenly pulled from my reverie by the sound of someone calling out.
"Wait!"
I turned around and saw Olga Marie approaching, her expression filled with confusion and wariness.
Behind her, Fujimaru Ritsuka, Mash, and Cu Chulainn were also looking at me with a mix of curiosity and caution.
"Who are you, really?" Olga stared at me intently. "You're not part of Chaldea, and I don't remember ever seeing a Servant like you here before!"
I simply gave a faint smile before answering in a calm voice, "I am merely a Servant sent by the Counter Force to resolve this Singularity."
It wasn't entirely the truth, but it wasn't a complete lie either.
A brief silence filled the room.
Olga's confusion deepened. "Counter Force...? What do you mean? Does that mean you—"
"I'm not a Counter Guardian, and I never will be." I cut her off, meeting her gaze with sharp eyes.
I'm was never hated counter guardian but become counter guardian was entirely different Case.
Mash looked at me with slight hesitation before speaking in a gentle tone, "Alright, you're not a Counter Guardian… But… why weren't you with us from the beginning? If you're also here to fix the Singularity, wouldn't it have been better to work together?"
I shrugged. "Sometimes, certain things need to unfold as they are meant to."
The truth was, it wasn't that I didn't want to help them—I simply wasn't stable at the first time I land in this singularity, as my memories were still hazy.
And when I finally remembered the plot of the FGO game, I didn't rush to assist them because I was too lazy to seek them out. Instead, I preferred to explore the Singularity on my own.
Besides it's not matter if I was here helping them or not because they're eventually will win against Artoria alter.
Fujimaru Ritsuka then frowned upon hearing my answer. "What do you mean?"
I only gave a faint smile without answering.
Then, half of my body started dissolving into particles of light.
But before I disappeared completely, I looked at them one last time and said in a calm voice, "This Singularity has been restored. My task is complete. Farewell, and good luck."
Fujimaru seemed like he wanted to say something, but before he could, my form had already started fading entirely.
My vision blurred—until everything turned to darkness.
