12 Days Later.
The days passed as usual.
During the day, the small crew busied themselves navigating the ship, ensuring we stayed on a safe course across the vast ocean. They skillfully controlled the sails, checked the wind direction, and occasionally joked with one another, as if their life at sea was the most natural thing in the world.
At night, they prepared once again to face the routine attacks from the Sea Demons that emerged from the darkness of the ocean. Even though battles occurred almost every night, they never complained—as if this was just another part of the adventure we had to endure.
However, thanks to Fujimaru and Mash, our defenses had become much more effective.
Fujimaru quickly adapted and was able to coordinate the crew well. He utilized their energetic personalities and turned them into a solid combat unit. Meanwhile, Mash, with her sturdy shield, was always ready to protect the ship from direct attacks.
This rhythm repeated itself. Peaceful days, action-filled nights. But this routine was becoming monotonous.
For someone like me, monotony was boring as hell.
---
Afternoon in the Captain's Quarters.
I sat in my chair, staring blankly at the table, one hand propping up my cheek while the other tapped on the wooden surface.
Today was going as usual, and I could feel boredom creeping in.
I let out a long sigh. Honestly, sailing across the sea without finding land was boring. I really missed the feeling of stepping on solid ground…
"Captain, are you okay?"
I lifted my head slightly. A short-haired girl with white hair stood at the doorway, her head tilted slightly with a concerned expression.
"Just bored," I replied casually. "I feel like I've been staring at the same ocean for months now."
The girl nodded in understanding. "Well… in that case, how about we play something? Maybe dice or riddles?"
I gave a small smile. "I'm the captain, you know? Not a kid like you all."
"But Captain is only sixteen, right?" she teased.
I held my breath. Well, technically, she wasn't wrong. But before I could respond, a blue text screen suddenly appeared in front of me.

I stared at the screen in silence.
There were so many changes displayed on my character profile. Some information that was previously hidden had now surfaced, revealing facts that even I didn't knows.
Why was there a sudden update?
I bit my lip. This was something that had never happened before. In the FGO game, information like this usually remained consistent unless a major change affected a Servant's existence. But here, I wasn't just experiencing a change in information—I also felt… strange.
As if something within me had changed without me realizing it.
I spaced out for a moment, trying to process every new piece of information displayed on the screen. However, before I could think further, a girl's voice pulled me from my thoughts.
"Captain?"
I flinched and quickly turned toward the door. There, standing at the entrance, was a girl with short white hair. Her eyes held a hint of curiosity.
I quickly closed the screen with my mind, making it disappear from view. "It's nothing. I was just… thinking about something."
The girl continued to look at me, as if she wanted to ask more, but in the end, she simply gave a small nod. "Well then, why don't you come outside for a bit? I'm sure the others would love to see you."
I took a deep breath and nodded. "Alright. I'll step out for a bit."
She gave a small smile and stepped aside, allowing me to walk out first.
As soon as I stepped out of the cabin, the cool sea breeze greeted me.
The blue sky stretched endlessly above us, with a few white clouds drifting lazily.
I walked toward the edge of the ship, gripping the wooden railing beneath my fingers. The sea breeze blew gently, carrying the salty scent of the ocean mixed with the faint smell of gunpowder from previous battles.
The waves shimmered under the sunlight, moving with a calm rhythm as if they didn't care about what had just happened above their surface.
Behind me, the crew was busy with their own tasks, but some were simply relaxing and chatting.
However, as I closed my eyes for a moment and then reopened them, I noticed something when I looked into the distance—something that caught my attention.
At the edge of the horizon, a small island faintly appeared, almost concealed by a thin mist. Its silhouette wasn't entirely clear, but it was distinct enough to make me furrow my brows.
I rubbed my eyes, blinking a few times, trying to make sure this wasn't just an illusion caused by exhaustion. But when I opened my eyes again, the island was still there.
"…An island?" I muttered softly, more to myself.
I bit my lip, feeling a bit skeptical. Was this just a trick of the light, or was there really land in the distance? If it was an island, why hadn't I noticed it earlier?
Suddenly, I felt an urge to get a clearer look.
'If only I had a telescope…'
But wait.
I tensed up for a moment, then glanced at my own hands before turning my gaze back to the horizon, my thoughts beginning to spin.
I had a skill for creating false objects—False Weapon/Object of Legends Creation. A skill that had just appeared on my character profile after that strange update.
I had never used it before because I didn't even know I had it. But if this skill was truly what its name suggested, then theoretically…
I should be able to create something like a telescope, right?
My hands slowly clenched against the ship's railing.
A part of me was still skeptical. Could I really create such an object? Was this skill limited only to weapons or mythical objects related to legends? Or could I create something simpler, like an observation tool?
There was only one way to find out—by trying.
I took a deep breath, then closed my eyes for a moment. I imagined the shape of a classic telescope—cylindrical, with lenses on both ends. A tool used by sailors and ship captains to see far beyond the horizon. I tried to picture every detail—its material, the reflection of its glass, even the sensation of holding it in my hands.
When I opened my eyes, I felt something new in my grasp.
I looked down and—sure enough—a telescope was now in my hands.
"…It worked?" I muttered softly, almost in disbelief.
The telescope felt real—no different from an ordinary physical object. Its weight was just right, its surface smooth, and the lens at the end reflected the sunlight with a slight gleam.
I didn't waste any time. With a bit of hesitation, I lifted the telescope to my eye and directed it toward the island I had seen earlier.
As my vision was magnified through the lens, the shape of the island became clearer.
What had once been just a vague silhouette was now visible—its rocky shoreline, several tall trees growing in the center, and dark shadows lurking between them. The island wasn't large, but it was spacious enough to serve as a landing point for a small ship.
But what sent a chill down my spine wasn't the fact that the island existed.
It was the presence of something… or someone… standing at the edge of the shore, staring directly at my ship.
I felt my heartbeat quicken.
What is that…?
I continued to look through the telescope, trying to confirm what I was seeing, when suddenly—
SWOOSH!
An arrow shot past my head at incredible speed, missing my face by mere inches! My reflexes kicked in instantly, my body moving to the side in an instant, nearly making me fall onto the ship's deck.
An enemy attack!?
I looked up with ragged breath, turning toward the arrow now deeply embedded in the ship's mast behind me. Its tip still trembled slightly from the impact, driven deep with unnatural force.
I didn't need to think long to realize this wasn't just a random attack.
Without hesitation, I raised the telescope again and directed it toward the island.
My eyes narrowed.
A Servant…
There was no way an ordinary human could shoot an arrow with such power and accuracy from that far away. Only a Servant could accomplish such a feat, and seeing the weapon they used to fire the arrow, there was no doubt—they were an Archer.
"…So someone is waiting for us there," I muttered, mostly to myself.
But it wasn't just the fact that they were there that made me wary.
It was the way they were looking at me.
The Archer stood motionless on the shore, not moving even after firing the first arrow. But I could feel the pressure emanating from them—a menacing aura spreading through the air.
Their sharp eyes pierced through my telescope, as if they knew I was observing them.
They didn't shoot just to drive us away…
No, if that was their goal, they would have fired a second arrow by now. But instead, they remained still, as if assessing my reaction.
They were testing me.
"…Interesting," I murmured, lowering the telescope with a faint smirk.
If they were an Archer, that meant they excelled in long-range combat. If we approached unprepared, this ship would become an easy target.
I had to think fast.
"Oi, Captain! What's going on?"
I turned to see one of the crew—a girl with short white hair—staring at me with wide eyes, probably startled after hearing the sound of the arrow that nearly hit me. Several other crew members were gathering, their expressions a mix of confusion and caution.
I glanced at the ship's mast where the arrow was still deeply embedded, then turned back to the island with keen focus.
"…It seems we're not alone here."
I faced my crew with a more serious expression.
"Prepare the ship to move—don't get too close, but don't go too far either. We'll observe first."
The white-haired girl swallowed hard but quickly nodded.
"Understood, Captain!"
As they began to move, I turned back toward the distant island and raised my telescope again.
But this time—
The Archer was no longer there.
I gritted my teeth.
They had vanished from my sight, but a bad feeling crawled up my spine.
She couldn't have just disappeared…
I hurriedly raised my telescope again, trying to locate her. But before I could—
SPLASH!
The sound of water being split echoed through the air.
I froze. In the distance, a green figure shot across the sea—no, she was running on the water!
Sharp emerald-green eyes, cat-like pointed ears, and a flowing green cloak billowing behind her. There was no doubt.
She was Atalanta, the legendary Huntress from Greek mythology!
How did I know it was her? Simple. Just like with Heracles, I had used Atalanta when I first started playing. Yeah, though I had long stopped using her after obtaining Grand Archer Orion.
Her speed was incredible. In mere seconds, she had already closed half the distance to my ship!
"Captain, she—she's running on water!?" one of the crew—a girl with a ribbon in her hair—shouted in panic.
"Impossible! That's ridiculous!" responded the girl with short white hair.
I didn't answer. There was no time for explanations.
Quickly, I tossed the Telescope in my hands into the air.
"Change!"
A blue glow shone from my hands. The binoculars trembled, shifting, stretching, reshaping—until they landed back in my grip, now transformed into a bow!
I took a deep breath.
I had never used a bow before. But… I had watched countless archers fight, observed how they aimed, drew their bowstrings, and released their arrows in anime and movies.
And if The Act of Imitating truly allowed me to replicate the combat styles I had seen—
I felt an unfamiliar power surge through my muscles. My right hand reached for the bowstring while my left hand aimed forward.
Without hesitation, I created a mana arrow and pulled it back.
I can't let her reach the ship!
I steadied my breathing, adjusting my aim just as I had seen other archers do.
She was getting closer. In just a few more seconds, Atalanta would leap onto the ship!
Without a second thought, I released the arrow.
SWOOSH!
The arrow shot through the air, slicing toward my target.
SRAKK!
It flew straight at Atalanta.
But as if she had already calculated my attack, she swiftly leaped to the side, dodging it with ease.
That's was not fast enough!
I quickly formed three more mana arrows and fired them in rapid succession, trying to cut off her path.
But Atalanta wasn't just any Archer. With an inhuman level of agility, she spun through the air, stepping on the waves as if they were solid ground, effortlessly dodging every one of my attacks without losing any momentum.
Damn! Sweat formed on my brow. If she kept closing in like this—
"Aim for the water!"
Fujimaru's voice suddenly rang out from behind me.
I was startled for a moment but quickly understood what he meant.
I shifted my aim—not at Atalanta directly, but at the water just ahead of her path.
SWOOSH!
My arrow struck the water, creating a small explosion that disrupted the waves beneath Atalanta.
For a brief second, her footing wavered.
I didn't waste any time. Quickly, I formed one final arrow and fired it with full force!
DUGG!
Atalanta twisted in midair, trying to evade, but this time—she was too late. My arrow struck her left shoulder!
"Kh…!"
She staggered in the air, losing her balance for just a moment—long enough for her to finally fall into the sea.
SPLASH!
I let out a breath of relief but didn't lower my guard.
Would she come back? Or was this enough to make her retreat?
In the distance, I watched as the waves churned, then gradually calmed.
There were no signs of Atalanta resurfacing.
"Did… did we win?" The girl with the ribbon asked hesitantly.
I lowered my bow, watching as it faded back into mana particles, then let out a long sigh.
"For now… yes."
But the unease in my heart hadn't completely disappeared. Atalanta wasn't the type to retreat so easily.
"Damn… What the hell was that? An enemy attack? I didn't expect we'd be ambushed in broad daylight!"
Dr. Roman's voice suddenly crackled through the comms, filled with shock and a hint of panic.
"But more importantly…!" His voice grew more frantic. "How did you get that bow?! And how were you able to use it?! Not just use it—you looked skilled!"
I exhaled as the bow in my hands fully dissipated into mana particles, then turned toward Fujimaru and Mash.
Fujimaru's face was still filled with confusion, while Mash had just arrived, her eyes scanning the area with a wary expression.
"What happened here, Senpai?" she asked, still trying to grasp the situation.
Fujimaru took a deep breath and began explaining what had just transpired. I remained silent, letting them process the information.
Once he was finished, Fujimaru turned his gaze from Mash to me, his expression serious.
"Rider, what was that?" he asked. "Aren't you a Rider? Then why do you have the abilities of an Archer?"
Mash also looked at me, her expression filled with curiosity. Even in her usually gentle eyes, there was a hint of wariness.
I took a deep breath.
It seemed this was going to be a long explanation.
But before that…
I turned once more toward the ocean, where Atalanta had fallen.
This was Unexpected Event....
