Bed

Liana's POV

I still couldn't believe it. I never actually thought that I was bad luck, but with the series of events that had been happening straight in a row, I wasn't sure what to think anymore.

Slowly, but surely, it was beginning to look like I'd been cursed, and what other way to prove it thank Kieran's last statement.

Starting tonight, you'll be sleeping in my room . His words echoed in my ears. It's the only place safe enough in the entire palace.

I wanted to scream, yell at the top of my voice that I would rather die than share a room with him, but I couldn't. Even though I didn't exactly remember the details, I couldn't deny the fact that he had saved me last night. What would've happened had be not shown up in time?

I told myself I wasn't going to think about it, but it only made me lean into his proposal all the more.

If he had come out there to save me, then I didn't have to worry if he said this was the only place I could be safe, right?

Right.

I hoped.

I'd been silently dreading the moments till when we would actually have to share the bed, but there was little to nothing that I could really do. The day passed quickly, and in no time, I could already make out the moon's silhouette, dancing in the night sky.

It was bedtime.

"Are you ready to go to bed, princess?" Kieran waltzed in at just the right moment, and I swear I caught myself shivering. This was one of the reasons I actually dreaded sharing a room with him.

Whether I liked to admit it or not, there was no denying the effect he had on me. If he did it on purpose or if he wasn't aware of what he was doing, I wasn't sure, but it didn't change the fact that my body reacted to him in more ways than one. More ways than I would like too.

"I asked you a question." He was behind me in no time, and I felt his rock hard arbs pressing into my back. "Aren't you feeling sleepy yet?"

"I am." I managed to utter, before turning to face him. "But you're not sleeping on the bed."

"Why?" His eyebrows shot up in confusion, and I fought the urge to giggle at how comical he looked. "Why won't I sleep on the bed? So where the hell am I going to crash and…"

"The couch." I finished up for him. He held my gaze, but I pushed myself to not get lost in his doe eyes, so I tilted my head in the direction of the couch. "You'll sleep over there."

"You're joking." It was more of a statement than anything else, but it didn't matter. Nothing was going to change my mind. "Tell me you are. Right?'

"Why would I do that?" I shrugged. "The couch is huge enough to contain both of your sizes, with a little extra space for me. It'll be comfy, and if you want, I could give you extra blankets and…."

"No." His response was curt and firm. "Not happening .'

"What do you mean by that?" I was clearly taken aback by Kieran's reaction to my brilliant idea. "It's not like I'm leaving you without an option. You have the super comfy couch and….*

"I said no." He beat me to the needed response. "I don't want to lie down on a couch. This is my room, my bed, and I'll use anything I want"

"Well, I'm not going to sleep on the same bed with you.* I huffed. "Not without some rules."

"What rules?" Kieran folded his arms across his chest.

Instead of giving him an answer right away, I got to work. I made sure to grab all the pillows I could find, before laying then down in a straight line. By the time I was done, I had successfully demarcated the huge bed into equal halves.

"You sleep over there and I'll sleep over here." I pointed to our respective sides. "And don't you dare cross that pillow line."

Without so much as waiting for him to approve or decline my idea, I got into bed, pulling the duvet over me.

"Goodnight princess." Kieran chuckled next to me, and that was the last thing I heard before drifting straight into slumber land. "Dream about me too."

I woke up a couple of hours later, and when I said that was the best sleep I'd had in my entire life, then best believe I wasn't joking. I made small noises as I wrapped my arms tighter around someone's broad chest. His entire body was warm, and I could myself pressing deeper into his skin.

"You're so warm." I whispered into his skin. As I arched into him, I couldn't help the moan that slid past my lips. With a low whisper, I muttered. "I want you."

I had no idea what I was doing, but I also didn't remember Ryle ever being this ripped. His muscles bulged underneath me, and I could already imagine his hands wrapping itself around me, and spanking me into oblivion.

"Are you sure?" He purred, and I felt my insides turn to mush. His lips grazed she corner of my ears, eliciting another deeper moan from me. "Is that what you really want, princess? Tell me you're sure."

"Yes." I nodded. "I'm sure."

I wasn't sure what I expected to happen after that, but it definitely wasn't to open my eyes, just to come face to face with Kieran.

I paled when I realized who's arms I was in, and what had just gone down in the last couple of minutes. Heat burned around me, my neck and centre, and I could feel my heart throbbing in my ears.

Kieran's gaze bored into mine, and it didn't help one bit. A lazy haze of lust and want danced around in his eyes, and before I could make anything out of it, he pressed his lips against mine.

Hard.

Another moan bubbled at the base of my throat, but Kieran gobbled it all up. His fingers trailed down my side, sliding down my back, till they got to my butt, before giving me a hard squeeze and a tap. I felt heady, but it did nothing to stop Kieran's assault on my lips. Goosebumps raced through the surface of my skin as he trailed his tongue over my lower lip, before pulling it I between his teeth.

"Mmhhmm." I moaned. "Kieran."

His name has barely slipped past my lips, before he pulled away from me, leaving me as cold as ice. I missed his body heat immediately, and I fought the urge to curse at him.

"That's enough, princess." He grinned. "Get up. You still have to clean up my room today."

I was furious, but it did nothing to faze Kieran. Instead, his arrogance only topped the chart, and as he stalked out, I deliberated tossing one of the pillows so hard at him that he would fall.

Cleaning the room didn't take more than I thought it would. In less than an hour, I'd totally dressed the bed, and every area in his room was sparkling, but still no sign of Kieran.

I didn't want to admit it, but a tiny part of me wanted desperately to see him, even if t was to just annoy him for a couple of minutes.

I waited and waited some more, and once I'd decided that I was tired of waiting, I headed out of the room.

My destination today was actually very simple, and safe. I was going to take a stroll in the palace. At least, that way I wouldn't exactly be leaving Kieran's eye range, and he wouldn't have to worry about me.

After what seemed like forever, I finally walked up to a pool. It was massive, and the clear waters were only yelling at me to come in for a quick drive.

I wanted to, but at the same time, I had my reservations.

Would Kieran approve? What if he didn't? And even if he did, I didn't have any swimming clothes with me.

After a little back and forth in my mind, I decided to not go swimming. I could always come back another time, and maybe with Kieran too.

I was just about to leave when my foot caught onto something, causing me to slip and fall into the pool with a loud crash.

Water seeped into my eyes and ears, and I bubbled up to the surface immediately. A wave of relief washed through my system when I realized that no one had been around to witness my embarrassing fall.

I scurried out of the pool as quickly as I could, before dashing into the palace. I headed straight to Kieran's room, and was thankful to the goddess that he was nowhere to be found.

I had just stripped down to my underwear, when the doors creaked open from behind. I froze in my spot, heat burning through my body. He didn't say nothing, but I already knew who it was.

It was Kieran, and I was in nothing but my underwear.

Oh goddess.
