I have been Alpha Maxwell's partner for many years and have been pregnant five times, but I still don't have a female wolf cub.
Until this time, Maxwell grabbed my neck and threatened me:
"If the test results show that it is still a female wolf cub, then you will never have another child in your life."
He tied me to the cold operating table with a bloody knife in his hand.
"If you can't give birth, find someone else."

"I pray it's a male pup."
I stood in front of the exquisite dressing table, instinctively placing my hand on the flat stomach.
I repeated the prayer that I am already very familiar with.
I know it's unacceptable to disappoint Alpha again.
Luna EVELYN, Alpha Maxwell awaits you in the main entrance hall," the butler informed me, bowing his head respectfully.
Alpha's angry expression came to my mind. Even though it was filled with fear, I had to face it.
I turned around and left the room, and as soon as I came downstairs, I saw Maxwell standing there - strong and imposing.
"I'm confident this pregnancy will finally provide what I and the pack require—an heir. Don't you agree, Luna EVELYN?" He spoke, his tone icy and controlled as I approached him.
He crushed the red wine glass in his hand, and then his hands were instantly drenched in blood.
But he seemed like nothing had happened, almost holding onto my waist in a cruel posture.
Drawing me closer, Maxwell planted a brief kiss on my lips—a gesture devoid of warmth, only conveying dominance.
He crushed the red wine glass in his hand, and then his hands were instantly drenched in blood.
He seemed like nothing had happened, almost holding onto my waist in a cruel posture.
I'm hoping for the best as well, Alpha," I replied, my voice quavering despite my efforts to appear composed.
His lips curved into a chilling smirk as his grip on my waist tightened. "You'd better," he growled.
"Have you forgotten this is your fifth pregnancy already? My patience is wearing thin, Luna EVELYN. I need an heir, and this is your final chance to provide one. Last chance." His voice was deep and menacing.
Last chance?
Would he discard me if I failed again?
My breath caught at the thought as I followed his lead.
Upon reaching the pack's medical facility, Maxwell remained close by my side. Healer Grace greeted us warmly and immediately began a series of examinations. An hour later, she returned with the results.
"Share the good news, Healer Grace," Alpha Maxwell said, his grip tightening around my hand as his voice brimmed with anticipation. "We're having an heir, aren't we?"
The healer hesitated momentarily as she studied the papers in her hands.
It's bad news. I could sense it already.
A feeling of dread twisted in my stomach. My palms grew damp despite the room's chill, and my heartbeat accelerated.
The silence lingered.
"Why are you taking so long?" Maxwell snapped, his patience ebbing. "Read us the test results."
Healer Grace cast an anxious glance my way before addressing the Alpha. Her voice wavered as she spoke. "Alpha Maxwell, the Luna is three weeks pregnant with a..." She paused, exhaling deeply before continuing, "...female pup."
Damn it.
My heart sank as Maxwell's fingers slipped away from mine. He snatched the test results from Healer Grace's trembling hands and hurled them across the room.
Papers fluttered to the ground like fallen leaves, but his fury didn't end there. He drove his fist into the wooden table beside us, the loud crack echoing in the sterile infirmary room.
But what terrified me most wasn't the destruction—it was the cold, detached expression on his face. Not a hint of emotion, not even when blood began to drip from his split knuckles.
He turned to me. "Five years. Five attempts. Five pregnancies. And four damned female pups." His words stung deeply. "Your sole purpose as a Luna was to give me an heir, and yet, you fail every single time!"
Before I could react, his hand shot out, roughly grasping my face. "At this point, even an Omega would be more valuable than you." His tone was scalding.
He released me harshly, and I stumbled backward as he turned toward the door. Just as I thought he was leaving, he paused, his cold gaze shifting to Healer Grace. "Prepare the Void Elixir and ensure Luna EVELYN drinks it," he commanded, his voice devoid of remorse. "I want nothing to do with the female pup inside her." With that, he stormed out, slamming the door behind him.
My heart shattered into countless pieces as I collapsed on the cold floor.
"I can't go through with it. Not again," I whispered, my voice shaking as tears streamed down my face. "I want to keep this pup. I want to be a mother. I want to watch her grow, to feel her love... Please, don't take her from me. I'm imploring you." My voice cracked as I looked up at the healer, my tear-filled eyes begging for mercy.
Healer Grace helped me to my feet and drew me into a gentle embrace. "I'm so sorry, Luna EVELYN, but I cannot disobey the Alpha's order."
Void Elixir is a brutally potent potion used to dissolve an unborn pup, to end a life before it could even begin. And for the fifth time, Alpha Maxwell was forcing me to take it.
