Chapter 54 - The Red Button

Isabella’s POV

“I’ll go in alone,” I told the guard when he opened his door to get out of the car.

I hurried from the vehicle before he could argue.

“Mrs. Hart!” he jumped in front of me before I could take a step. I rolled my eyes. I hadn’t expected him to let me go that easily, but it was still annoying. “I don’t think that’s wise.”

“Hmm. I’m still going in alone,” I told him calmly.

Sebastian had told me to come alone, but that simply hadn't been possible. But I didn’t think he would be too lenient about having a guard stuck to my back the entire time.

“I’m just here to pick up a package, okay. No danger in that, right?”

“A package? Here?”

I could understand his skepticism. The address Sebastian had given me was for one of Hart Corporate's buildings. It was derelict and hadn’t been occupied since it had been abandoned several years ago. This entire area was under redevelopment, so most of the surrounding buildings were empty—either to be demolished or renovated.
