Chapter 60 - The Light At The End Of The Tunnel

Isabella’s POV

While the first floor of the building had resembled a ghost town, the executive floor was pure chaos. There were several men dressed in suits running around, wreaking havoc. There were documents strewn all over the floor, as some of them ran across to the shredding machine. There was another group smashing what appeared to be patent plates, while some even resorted to defacing office property. I shook my head in disgust at the excessive display of force.

I stepped toward the office, but a tall, wide-set man blocked my way.

I looked up at the towering figure with a calm I did not feel. “I assume your boss is inside?”

The goon’s face twisted with a sadistic grin. “You should run home, princess,” he sneered. “Your mutt’s kennel has just been padlocked.”

. “Was that meant to be clever?” I asked. I tilted my head and eyed him up and down curiously. “Despite your size, there must not be a lot of space in that head of yours.”
