Isabella’s POV
“I didn’t expect this call for another day at least. Ethan must not be doing very well,” Sebastian chuckled at the other end of the line.
“The Verylis. That’s what’s in the box?” I asked him, skipping over his comment.
“You’re quick on the uptake, Little Moon. Why? Do you need it? It was so hard to come by. Normally, I wouldn’t even think to part with such a treasure, but for you…” He ended his taunt with a little laugh.
“If I come with you, how do I know you’ll hand it over afterwards?”
“My Little Moon is so distrustful. Have you eaten dinner?”
“What?”
“If you haven’t, I’ll order you some. You like Italian, right?”
My irritation piqued. “Is this some sort of twisted game for you? You think this is funny?!” I snapped.
“Game? I just said I’ll order you dinner. How else am I supposed to deliver the cure to you? Would you prefer to have me waltz onto your husband’s ward and hand it over in person?”
