Chapter 72 - All The Players On The Board

Isabella’s POV

The next several days were a brutal exercise in plotting and patience.

It was reminiscent of the weeks I'd spent overseeing Ethan's companies, in that I barely had enough time for food and sleep, except I wasn't bolstered by the motivation to protect my husband’s assets.

No. Now I was motivated by something else entirely—Sebastian’s downfall.

I was going to ‘help’ Sebastian recover the assets Ethan was targeting.

Then I was going to save my father.

And then he, Ethan, and I were going to sit down and have a nice little family.

I was sick and tired of being treated like some fragile, porcelain doll without a brain. Without enough strength to handle the truth.

“Your father cooked up the drugs, and now you're in charge of distributing them. How poetic.”

Michael's words had cut so far to the bone, I had feared I wouldn't recover, but as I'd been dragged from one container to the next to oversee inventory, I had slowly come to a decision.
