The car finally slowed to a stop, pulling along a winding stone driveway that led up to the massive front door.
I watched as a group of men in elegant attire exited the grand entrance, heading toward us. The other black vehicles followed behind us, but ours stood out, unmistakably prominent.
As they got closer, my nerves began to fray.
This would be my new home for as long as Cayden needed to take care of whatever he had to attend to. And something deep in my gut told me that once I stepped inside, there would be no escaping.
Cayden leaned closer, his breath warm against my neck, sending a shiver down my spine. “I only have one rule for you, Tori,” he whispered. “Stay with Kas or Jace at all times. Trust no one else. Do you understand?”
I nodded silently, barely processing his words before the car door opened.
