Madam Elijah Is Online

It could be seen from Ashley's meager amount of dresses in her wardrobe how the steward of the Elijah Family was indifferent to her. Before, Ashley did not mind this. In fact, her fucking love brain believed that being thrifty could make Jaxon see her in a different light.

What a joke!

In her years of marriage, not once did Jaxon give her a single present! Aside from the black card that he threw to her, nothing else was given!

Now, with a divorce waiting for her, it would be cheap for that bitch to have everything while she got nothing! First, she would fill up her wardrobe with elegant and high-end dresses!

A beautiful girl welcomed Ashley as soon as she entered LV's store. The other sales lady looked her up and down. Seeing how she was wearing a simple skirt and ruffled crop top without any pieces of jewelry adorned around her neck, the sales lady scoffed and turned away.

Ashley ignored her. With years of being the Madam Elijah, her vulgar bones had long been washed away. To keep up with Jaxon and not to embarrass him, Ashley went through countless training classes to change her essence and to be a qualified Madam Elijah.

But no matter how she struggled, she was nothing compared to that sickly bitch! Her son's death became that woman's wedding dress!

"Ma'am?"

Snapped from her reverie, Ashley smiled at the pretty sales lady beside her. Ashley shook her thoughts away and focused on choosing clothes, bags, scarves, sunglasses, and footwear.

The disdainful sales lady snorted. This time, she did not restrain her hostility. "Ma'am, are you sure you can pay for those items? I want to remind you, this store is for the elite. No random cats and dogs can afford a single scarf here."

Mockery and sarcasm intertwined with contempt.

"Jaja, what are you doing? We must serve all the customers equally!" The pretty sales lady pulled the disdainful sales lady away, attempting to ease the tension in the store especially when there were other guests who already noticed the commotion.

Ashley merely gave the sales lady named Jaja ironic glance before she focused on picking up clothes and pairing them with others or with trinkets and footwear. This look made Jaja pale from anger! It was as if Ashley did not take her seriously at all!

"Y-You! Don't make me call the security!" This time, Jaja pointed at Ashley with clear hostility.

"Jaja!"

Ashley showed through her actions that she was too noble to mind the words of a clown like Jaja by showing her rare black card that made everyone gasp!

"I want this, and this, and this." Ashley paused as if she realized something. "You know what? I want them all including the bags. Pack it up for me, will you?" This time, Ashley was smiling at Jaja.

Ashley gave her size and sat on the lounge couch with the aura of a queen. Many customers who witnessed her domineering counterattack wondered which wealthy family she came from—and why she looked familiar.

No one would associate Ashley with the desperate Ashley that circulated in the internet. After all, the temperament of the two was not comparable! I

The other sales ladies were dumbfounded by Ashley's domineering actions. This was the God of Wealth! Must serve her well!

One sales lady served Ashley refreshments. The other one gave Ashley an exclusive magazine to choose more from their limited edition this spring season! While the others were busy packing Ashley's selected items.

"Ma'am, shall we deliver these items?"

Without looking up, Ashley waved her hand in dismissal. "Go on. Deliver it to XXXX Hills."

After visiting the LV store, Ashley took her black card to the next stores, like Channel, Prada, Dior, Celine, Armani, Hermes, and Bulgari.

In the middle of a meeting.

The cold temperature inside the luxurious meeting hall was not because of the high-end air conditioning equipment in the room. This kind of chill seeped through the bones and marrow, making the company leaders shiver.

Their pounding hearts buzzed. There was no silence for them but deep-rooted fear towards the man at the center of the long table. Their shaky pupils focused on the man's every move.

The hearts of the company leaders seemed to match the way the man tapped his right index finger on the table. All their hearts were in their throats, and they felt as if they would have constipation any time soon.

Yet the man never bothered to look up from the file he was reading.

Silence continued in the meeting hall like a thick veil of death for everyone except him.

This man was no other than Jaxon Elijah—the man behind the gigantic Elijah Consortium. His thunderous means when he cleaned up both internal and external enemies of the company was still a legend in business circles both in the country and in abroad.

Listed as the richest man by Forbes magazine, Jaxon Elijah became the prince charming of every woman's dream. Too bad that everyone also knew how he got a son from the scheme of an obsessed woman—Madam Elijah.

The number of people who loathed Ashley Connor doubled the number of people who admired Jaxon Elijah. He was partly the reason why Ashley Connor would not lack a hater.

Back to the tensed atmosphere, the company leaders wanted to shed some tears. With big salaries came with bigger demands from the top boss. And right now, Jaxon Elijah was demanding for the third revision of the R&D Department!

The director of the R&D Department sweated despite the cold blow of the air conditioning equipment in the room. He hid his hands under the table to hide his shaking hands, but his pale lips already gave him away.

All the other department heads merely looked away, secretly praying for all the gods available to bless them at this meeting! They could only light the candle for the director of the R&D Department.

"Bring me the revised plan before 5 PM. This is your last chance. I did not pay you a salary to give me a rubbish development plan." Jaxon Elijah's tone did not fluctuate.

He showed no emotion from the start of the meeting until now, but the bone-chilling aura emitting from him was already a sign of how dissatisfied he was!

Ting! Ting! Ting! Ting! Ting! Ting!

A series of notification sounds shattered the heavy silence of the meeting room. But it did not diminish the tension between the company leaders.

They all exclaimed silently while secretly checking their phones. They could only sigh when they saw that their phones were turned off. Then they wondered who was the poor soul who forgot to keep his phone in silent mode.

Looking around, all they saw were the curious looks of their colleagues. Then… who was it?!

Suddenly, Jaxon Elijah calmly took his phone, checked the contents of the notification, and frowned as seconds ticked by.

"The meeting is adjourned." Jaxon did not wait. He was the first one to leave the meeting room.

Harold immediately followed Jaxon. The former was sweating. He also wondered who was brave enough to disturb the Boss who was already emitting a dangerous aura.

"Check what that woman is doing." Jaxon immediately said as soon as he sat on his office chair.

Harold had a 'no wonder look' clearly written on his face. He guessed that it was Ashley Connor who sent those messages. Probably, she was urging the Boss to go home and spend time with her. Tsk, Tsk, Harold thought that Ashley Connor had changed—it turned out it was nothing but an illusion.

"Yes, Boss."

Left alone inside his office that occupied the entire top floor, Jaxon Elijah stood up, walked to the glass wall of his office, and looked at the bustling metropolis below him like a king. His brows pressed together.

After her extravagant shopping spree, Ashley admitted that it was kind of relaxing. Though her legs were tired, and the black card was used too much, she did not care. She was glad to vent her dissatisfaction even through this small means.

It was not an exaggeration to say that she emptied the high-class stores in that mall. Ashley did not need to worry about how to fill up her cloak room.

Now, she stood in front of Woodhill Kindergarten. Standing like a pine with both beauty and grace, she attracted a lot of attention from those parents and nannies. Like a queen, just standing still in her green skirt and white ruffled shirt, Ashley Connor had only one concern in her mind.

Her son.

That moment, a chubby little white dumpling trotted towards the gate. The glacial indifference shattered, replaced by a kind of warmth solely exclusive to the child calling for his mommy.

"Mommy! Mommy! Mommy, you are here!"

Scottie bypassed the driver tasked by Jaxon to take Scottie home. His plump and small arms hugged Ashley's leg. Looking up, his cute face blushed with excitement. "Mommy! I miss you!"

Rubbing her son's fluffy hair, she looked at the driver. "I will take my son to my apartment. Your boss knows where it is."

The driver hesitated. "Miss Ashley… This—"

Ashley did not want to waste her time. She took her phone and dialed Jaxon's number. It only rang twice before his deep voice reverberated.

With the loudspeaker on, she talked to the scumbag. "Hello. I'll take Scottie with me to my apartment."

"What apartment?"

"Do I have any other apartment?" Ashley rolled her eyes. "Anyway, I'll be with my son this week. Next week, I'll be with the crew. I want my son to be with me this week."

Ashley's tone was not asking. She was informing Jaxon. Scottie was not only his son, he was also her son.

Silence ensued at the end. Just when she was about to turn it off, he answered.

"What is this game of yours, Ashley? I told you. You can play with other things and I won't care. But never, ever, touch my son."

Despite the distance, Jaxon's dangerous aura still reached Ashley. But did she care?

Hell no!

Ashley saw through her peripheral vision how Scottie's eyes dimmed.

"Listen to me, Jaxon Elijah. Scottie is also my son. It is my respect to you. That's why I called you to inform you. I am not asking you permission. I carried my son for nine months. I have a say to him no matter how rich you and your family are!"

At the other end of the phone, Jaxon was taken aback. Even if he did not see her expression, judging from her tone alone, he could hear that she was only for Scottie and this was not a trick of hers again.

'Good. My son still needs his mother,' Jaxon thought.

"Okay. It is good that we make ourselves clear. I will expect my son back before Monday."

Beep! Beep! Beep!

Gritting her teeth, Ashley's sharp eyes pinned on the driver. "Make yourself useful. Take us to XXXX Hill residence first."

"Mommy! Dad agreed?" Scottie's grip on her clothes did not loose, as if he was afraid of being abandoned again.

This pitiful action… Ashley's eyes reddened. Squatting to even their heights, Ashley caressed Scottie's plump cheeks.

"My son, wait for Mommy to be powerful enough to fight for you, hmm?"

Though young, Scottie understood that his father did not love his mother, so his mother was always sad. Now, even when his parents were like his classmates who were separated, Scottie supported his mother as long as his mother was happy.

'If Mommy is happy, I am happier!' Scottie thought happily as he hugged his mother's neck.
