Meliza's POV
"I'd rather stay in my room, Ruby. I can't afford to go out right now," I said after she invited me to a bar in the capital.
After Sylvia ruined everything, I left the pool party without finishing my meal. I'd been having a great time with my real friends until she showed up, tearing it all apart with her cruel words.
I still couldn't believe Ethan had told her those things—things that were meant to stay between us. If he had something to say, he should've said it to my face, not hers.
I always knew he toyed with my heart, but hearing him admit it to Sylvia was unbearable. I had been foolish to think he was angry because I embarrassed him when I broke up with him. But no—he was angry because I refused to be another one of his conquests.
"You're here in San Fernando to have fun," Ruby reminded me, settling beside me on the bed. Her sleek black dress hugged her curves; she was effortlessly sexy.
