Ethan's POV
I stood in front of Meliza's door like a damn fool, and my fists clenched at my sides, my heart still hammering from the kiss.
She slammed the door in my face and banged it with all the fury and heartbreak I had just ripped open inside her.
And I had let it happen. Again.
I should walk away. I should turn around, pretend nothing happened, and leave before I made things worse. But my feet wouldn't move. Instead, I stood there, lost.
Lost in the way her lips had tasted—sweet, desperate, furious. Lost in the way she had melted into me before she realized what she was doing. Lost in how I had ruined everything the second I let the wrong words slip past my lips.
Kissing her was not part of the plan. Not yet.
I had come here to prove a point, to confront her, to demand answers, but I hadn't planned on losing control.
