Lion’s Den

Ethan's POV

"I don't know whether to laugh at you or feel sorry for you," Vince blurted out, following me as I stepped outside after lunch.

The warm afternoon breeze brushed against my skin as I stared into the vast fields of Elijah's estate, my mind clouded with unanswered questions. I had spent years avoiding this place, convincing myself that there was no reason to step foot here in Yerton City. And yet, here I was.

"Why did you come here, Ethan? You always said you'd never set foot in Yerton again," Vince asked, folding his arms as he leaned against the railing beside me.

I exhaled, shaking my head. "I had my reasons. But I swear, until today, I had no idea that Carla—Camille—was Elijah's daughter."

Vince's expression shifted slightly, but he remained silent.

I turned to face him, frustration bubbling in my chest. "Why didn't you tell me about this?"
