Meliza's POV
I woke up before my alarm even had the chance to buzz. The stillness of the morning wrapped around me like a cold sheet, and for a brief moment, I just lay there, staring at the ceiling, letting the silence press against my chest. I eventually forced myself to rise, took a warm bath, and began getting ready for work out of habit—though everything had changed.
Ethan had already left.
That realization brought a subtle ache to my chest. I didn't even get to see him, not even a goodbye or a quiet moment to hold onto. Maybe that was for the best. After all, I wasn't returning to the office anymore—not as his assistant, not as the woman who shared long nights and secret smiles with him. Today, I was something else entirely.
