Vastarael's Character Profile

The checkout was a spectacle in itself, an event that had every shopper in the hypermarket turning their heads.

Vastarael, Chainless, and Adelasta stood at the counter, surrounded by the towering piles of food and supplies that stretched across no less than eight trolleys each.

People gasped in awe as they watched the massive heaps of items being unloaded onto the conveyor belt, each one more extravagant than the last. The workers behind the counter were practically trembling, not sure whether to panic or marvel at the sheer quantity of goods being processed.

Vastarael, with his faceless mask and his enigmatic aura, looked every bit the mysterious prince he was. The shoppers couldn't help but whisper amongst themselves. The Prince of Anqerise was standing in front of them, and not just any prince. The future heir of a Dynasty.

Adelasta, standing quietly beside him, was another sight altogether. The future Duchess of Anqerise, her cold expression radiated the kind of power and grace that only someone of her status could. Despite her lack of words, there was an undeniable aura of nobility about her.

Her very posture was regal. Some whispered that she was as frigid as ice, but even they couldn't deny the beauty and strength she possessed.

But it wasn't just the royalty that had people's eyes glued to the scene. It was the sheer spectacle of the shopping.

The items were being swept off the shelves faster than the employees could restock them, and the checkout counters couldn't seem to handle the flood of goods.

As the last trolley of meat was rolled up, the employees glanced nervously at the empty shelves where the meats once were. There would be no more until the next supply run and here was barely anything left for anyone else to buy.

The snack aisle? Gone, wiped clean, as if every popular snack, every energy bar, and every exotic treat had been hoarded by the very shoppers in front of them.

The shoppers who weren't gawking at the royal duo's purchase had their attention fixed on Chainless.

She hovered nearby, her chains floating that made the trolleys move with an elegance that defied logic. There was no need to even touch the items. Chainless's ethereal, levitating chains did all the work, gliding over the stacks of goods, picking up bags of grains, jars of spices, and even the most delicate of fruits with a precision that left everyone stunned. It was as if the very chains were an extension of her will.

And then, it happened.

As the final items were scanned and the workers began to collect the empty trolleys, the truly strange part of the transaction occurred.

Instead of shopping bags, instead of the usual plastic or paper bags that most people used to carry their goods, Vastarael, Adelasta, and Chainless began to wave their hands.

From the sides of each of them, portals of shimmering starry light opened up. These were inventory portals.

The sight was so mesmerizing that people stood frozen, mouths agape, as the groceries, from the snacks to the dried fruits, the meats to the nuts, were drawn into these swirling rifts like leaves carried away by an unseen wind.

Each of the three had their own portal, with their respective goods neatly arranged inside. Items were neatly packed, stored, and disappeared from sight, leaving nothing but the swirling darkness behind. It was a feat of magic and technology in perfect harmony.

A gasp spread across the crowd, and whispers started to travel like wildfire.

"Did you see that? What just happened?"

"Is that some kind of royal magic?"

"Those are portals! Like the ones used by Dynasty Starisnova!"

Even the workers behind the counter stared in disbelief, unsure of what they had just witnessed.

As for the money....well, it was a mere afterthought.

With a casual flick of his wrist, Vastarael swiped his credit card, the one with the unlimited Enousi account that belonged to the Richinaria dynasty. The transaction processed in an instant, the funds disappearing into the system.

No one could fathom how much they had just spent. A few million Enousi? No, it was likely far more than that. It was a small price to pay for the preparation they needed.

Not that it was anything to them. But to them, seeing more then six zeros for shopping items was scary.

With a soft but imperious nod, Vastarael looked over at Adelasta and Chainless and then glanced back at the now-empty trolleys. There was nothing left to buy and it was time to leave.

The crowd, still in shock, stepped aside as the royals walked away, their starry portals vanishing after buying what they needed. The murmurs grew louder, but no one dared to approach them.

Who would dare disturb royalty in their element, especially when they had just emptied a lot of aisles in the entire market?

"Guess that's one way to do it," Vastarael muttered to himself with a small smile, adjusting his eye mask.

Adelasta, her gaze locked forward, didn't acknowledge him, though a faint, almost imperceptible flicker of amusement passed through her eyes.

"I suppose we'll be well-stocked for the Epoch Cycle," she said, her voice as cold as always, but with a hint of something softer buried beneath her usual tone.

"Yeah. At least we won't starve."

They had enough supplies to last them for years. And they didn't take any chances. Now, they were set in terms of food.

°°°°°°°

With the food issue gone, Vastarael decided to spend the rest of his days focusing on his Rune Drawing and Circlecraft.

He was already prepared in terms of weapons. He had his own Divine Weapon. He also prepared a good set of outfits for him to use. Thanks to another shopping spree with Elyonari, they bought a lot of outfits.

He didn't care about showers since he had a Cleaning Rune. And just in case he was out of essence, he decided to buy a few personal items like soap and so on.

He fully realized that Spheraphase was just afuturistic Earth and he didn't mind. It's a Hidden Truth as to how this is possible but he didn't care. There are a lot of similarities with both worlds but...

Why would he focus on something like that? He should be happy!

He had no need for healing potions. Thanks to his soul, his regeneration would do the job. Also, it didn't require essence because it uses the energy his soul to replenish it. He didn't bother buying any other items.

Armor? He already had sapphire to coat his skin.

In terms of knowledge, he left it to Phaenora. All he did was leave her incorporeal form in the academy library where she would study the geographic landscapes and maps for their journey. Being an Omniscient, this was a very good chance for her to make herself knowledgeable.

This was also when he realized that she had an invisible form. He didn't know that and Phaenora didn't like talking about it either so he left it at that.

The only thing left now is to get stronger and understand more about his Tethers in a month. He was already good in weapon mastery but not in Circlecraft.

In fact, this is the only thing his father never taught him. He did teach him how to use Runes but not creating his own circles, mostly because every Circlecraft mage has their own way of learning.

So, he couldn't help him with Circlecraft and he had a month to learn more about it.

So on his couch on the eclipsal afternoon fourth day before the First Epoch Cycle, he looked at his stats through Phaenora.

'So that's how I can use Rune Drawing so well.'

Rune Drawing consumed a lot of essence and only Seventh Star mages are the only ones who can use it regularly. But thanks to Massive Essence Supply, he can use it. Although, it still consumes his essence more.

"When I'll unlock Divine Energy, I won't have to worry about this. But... that's a long way away. Let's focus on Circlecraft for now. This is what I need to focus on
