Shattered Plan. Ophelia's Pov

"You bastard! I thought you only wanted to get rid of Lila—why the hell did you drag Leo into this?" I snarled, shoving Mason hard enough that his back slammed against the wall.

He looked pathetic—his shirt clung to his skin, damp with sweat, his face pale as if he had seen a ghost. His plan had failed, and now the fallout was about to come crashing down on both of us.

Stupid fool.

I could feel the heat of my rage pulsing beneath my skin. My hands curled into fists at my sides, itching to do more than just shove him. "How could you be so careless with those incompetent thugs you hired?" I shouted, my voice echoing in the dimly lit room.

Mason just stared at me, his mouth opening and closing like a fish gasping for air. He had no excuse, no explanation—just that dumbfounded look on his face, as if he hadn't realized the gravity of his mistake until this very moment.

Useless.
