The girl was a little hesitant. If Aoki could operate some computers while she was watching, it wouldn't be impossible. Usually, her grandparents allowed trainers who were close to them to use their computers, but there were some top-secret data that required a password to access.
Another thing that piqued her interest was the situation Aoki described—something she had never encountered before. As a scholar in Pokémon cultivation, the unknown knowledge made her even more curious.
Additionally, the "simple and honest" boy in front of her didn't seem like a bad person, and the Pokémon around him were also very well-bred, obviously indicating he was a trainer with a certain amount of knowledge.
"Well, I need to register your League ID card, and then you can operate the computer with me," she said after thinking it over.
In the end, her curiosity won out, and her scholarly nature took over.
Aoki smiled politely, his expression harmless, and nodded. "Okay, trouble you!"
Under the girl's guidance, Aoki walked to a study in the backyard of the breeding house. There were several large bookshelves, each filled with books. Some had aged and turned yellow, while others were relatively new.
Books on Pokémon egg studies, Pokémon hatching, and the fundamentals of Pokémon breeding were neatly organized. Sticky notes on each shelf indicated the types of books contained within.
In the corner of the study sat a computer, which was well-maintained, showing that it was frequently used.
The girl sat at the computer, skillfully turning it on, entering the password, and then opening the database.
It was clear that the girl was likely the one who used this computer the most.
Once everything was ready, she stood up and signaled that Aoki could start.
Aoki nodded politely, sat in front of the computer, and began to search for information.
Though Aoki was unregistered as a cultivator with knowledge of nurturing, he knew exactly what to look for. His use of some professional terminology made the girl look at him with a little more respect.
What she didn't know, however, was that while Aoki was operating the computer, another operation was taking place in the background.
"System, start analyzing the data on this computer," Aoki instructed the system in his mind.
This was how the system had operated in his previous life when importing database data, though the system had some imperfections. It couldn't directly access the database via the network. Instead, it could only infiltrate a system when the host had physical contact with the computer, allowing the micro-currents from the human body to pass through and access the data without leaving a trace.
"Dip! Mission established, estimated time: ten minutes! Starting data import..."
Ten minutes later...
"Mission completed!"
Aoki stood up and said, "I still haven't found anything, but thank you anyway. Here's my League ID card."
The girl was also disappointed, unable to find the knowledge she had been hoping for, which made her feel uncomfortable. However, she still took Aoki's League ID card and registered his information on the computer in the lobby.
"I think you're a good breeder. Though you haven't found the right way to incubate the egg, don't be discouraged. Let's exchange contact information. I'll ask my grandparents tonight, and if you find the right method, please let me know. I'm willing to exchange it with you," the girl said as she handed Aoki's ID card back to him.
"Okay, by the way, how much should I pay? You can deduct it directly from this bank card," Aoki said with a "reluctant" smile.
"It's okay, no need," she replied, rejecting Aoki's offer to pay.
She didn't take money too seriously. With the popularity of her classes, she could earn more if she wanted to.
"I've also heard about that Pokémon egg. I haven't seen it, but I'm really interested in this knowledge."
Though disappointed that she couldn't see the egg, the girl's eyes lit up when Aoki mentioned his interest in knowledge. When he searched for information, the professional terms he used further confirmed that Aoki was indeed a studious person.
Scholars often "cherish" each other, and that's exactly how the girl felt.
Reluctantly, Aoki left the breeding house. Once outside, he couldn't help but wipe the sweat from his forehead. Communicating with scholars like her was no less than a difficult exam—it was challenging, but also exciting. It was hard to find a reason to leave.
Before leaving, the girl reminded him to contact her once he discovered the solution.
But in the end, the goal was accomplished: Aoki had obtained the data from the breeding house. It was fortunate that her grandparents were absent. If they had been there, with their experience, Aoki might not have been able to access the information so easily.
"System, match the database and see if you can find a solution for Lavitar's egg," Aoki instructed after leaving the breeding house.
"Di! Task successfully established. Analysis begins. Estimated time: three days. Remaining time: two days, 23 hours, 59 minutes, 30 seconds!"
The system could only match the data in the database and simulate possible solutions. If it succeeded, Aoki would still have to try it himself. There was also a chance that the system wouldn't find a solution after analyzing the data.
For now, Aoki had no choice but to wait.
And even though the quasi-legendary Pokémon inside Lavitar's egg was deteriorating, it wouldn't provide much help anytime soon. It could even become a burden.
The resources needed to cultivate a pseudo-legendary Pokémon were astronomical, and in the short term, a pseudo-legendary wouldn't be as effective as a regular Pokémon.
Even if Aoki knew how to incubate Lavitar's egg now, he wouldn't risk it unless he could afford the resources required to train it.
What Aoki needed to focus on now was developing a timely combat force and dealing with the next task from Shadow, as well as Team Rocket's most important trial mission.
Though Shadow had temporarily rescued him from Team Rocket's Trial Island, the trial wasn't over. Aoki still needed to return to the island for the final assessment. If things went well, it could pave the way for his future, but if it failed, the consequences would be dire.
Before leaving the island, Aoki had always remembered that the trial mission Shadow gave him was somewhat special. He had seen some clues when he observed the last test carefully.
For now, however, the priority was clear: he needed to improve his strength as soon as possible!
