Chapter 492 - Kabutops and Mega Stone

Through the simple description of Lanturn, Aoki knew the status of the Kabuto group in this deep water canyon.

Absolute dominance!

According to the Lanturn, there is a very powerful Pokémon in the Kabuto group, and it is because of the existence of this Pokémon that the Kabutos truly dominate this place.

Although he didn't understand everything the Lanturn was saying, Aoki still understood the basics.

He let the Lanturn lead the way, with him and Slowking following behind, slowly walking toward the lair of the Kabuto.

After advancing for a certain distance, the Lanturn suddenly stopped.

Just when Aoki wanted to ask, the Lanturn explained that the front is the territory of the Kabuto, and they must not get closer, or they may face a relentless attack from the Kabuto.

Then they would no longer survive here.

Aoki felt helpless.

Without the Lanturn's light, Aoki would only be able to rely on Slowking's perception to vaguely sense the surroundings, so the Lanturn must not leave!

With no other choice, Aoki could only force the Lanturn to move forward.

But he promised that if they couldn't survive here, Aoki would find Lanturn a more comfortable habitat, definitely not worse than here.

The Lanturn wanted to resist, but when it saw the Pokeblock suddenly appearing in Aoki's hand, it became obedient.

Carefully, it led Aoki and the others forward.

In fact, it was quite obvious in such a dark place with Lanturn. No matter how restrained it was, it was very conspicuous.

After advancing for a certain distance again, Aoki gradually saw some red light spots in the water.

The eyes of the Kabutos!

However, the Kabuto did not launch an attack; they just quietly watched as Lanturn and Aoki entered their territory.

Slowly, a huge rock like a cliff appeared in front of Aoki.

There was a cave in the rock.

At Aoki's gesture,

The Lanturn entered the cave reluctantly.

Just like the cave in the lake where the Slowpoke once lived, after entering for a certain distance, there was also an empty space inside the cave.

Aoki and Slowking walked out of the water.

The Lanturn was immediately recalled into its Pokéball by Aoki.

It was no longer needed here, because there were plenty of moss on the walls emitting faint fluorescence, lighting up every corner of the cave, allowing Aoki to see the surroundings clearly.

"I didn't expect there to be such a cave below," Aoki thought to himself.

If the place where the Slowpoke were before was the size of a basketball court, then this place should be the size of five or six football fields.

It looked very wide, and because of the reflective moss, even in some corners, the situation could be seen clearly.

"Slowking, can you still sense the space coordinates?" Aoki asked telepathically.

As long as Slowking could teleport, the threat to Aoki here would be reduced by nearly half.

After a little sensing, Slowking nodded, indicating that there was no problem.

This made Aoki feel slightly relieved.

"Leave a space coordinate here, just in case, maybe we'll come back here next time," Aoki said.

Hearing Aoki's words, Slowking closed his eyes and prepared to leave the space coordinates.

But just when Slowking was about to leave the coordinates of his psychic powers, there was a sudden "crack, clatter" sound from the insect-like bones in this wide cave.

Aoki's face changed slightly.

He saw many small flat holes in the cave, and yellow Pokémon were drilling out of them.

It was the Kabuto Aoki was looking for.

They were densely packed, covering a large area.

What surprised Aoki even more was that there were several much larger holes, and the figure of a Kabutops actually appeared.

Aoki, who knew the Pokémon like Kabutops, understood that for a Kabuto to evolve into a Kabutops, it needed to be at least level 40, meaning it had to be at the elite level.

Judging by the number of Kabutops that came out, there were at least 20 to 30 Kabutops, and just these 20 to 30 Kabutops were more than what Aoki could handle right now.

Just when Aoki was about to leave, a Kabutops that was clearly much larger than ordinary Kabutops appeared in the cave.

Upon seeing its appearance, both the Kabutops and Kabutos bowed down.

The leader of the Kabutops!

It should be what the Lanturn referred to, the strongest Pokémon here.

The gap between the Kabutops and the Kabutos was still very large.

The armor of the original Kabuto seemed to have turned into a Kabutops' head. From under the head grew a body, two sickle-like hands, and two slender feet. They lived on the ground by walking upright on two feet.

The sharp triangular eyes stared closely at Aoki, a creature he had never seen before.

All the Kabutops and Kabuto, led by the leader of the Kabutops, slowly approached Aoki and the others.

Aoki frowned and placed his hand on the back of Slowking, connecting his psychic powers with Slowking's, ready to use teleportation at any time.

But when the leader of the Kabutops approached, Aoki noticed something that shocked him.

A stone the size of a thumb was placed on top of the leader of the Kabutops' head, glued to it by some unknown method.

It exuded multicolored light, and under the fluorescent moss, it distorted the light and emitted different colors.

His eyes were fixed on the stone on the leader of the Kabutops' head, and Aoki's shock was evident.

Although he wasn't sure what kind of stone it was, Aoki knew one thing for sure.

That stone on the leader of the Kabutops' head, the one he had been thinking about...

A Mega Stone!

Aoki wasn't sure which Pokémon it belonged to, but for now, he had only one thought.

He had to get it!

Even if it wasn't the Mega Stone for his current Pokémon, he could exchange it with others after the Mega Evolution was fully promoted in the future!

In other words, regardless of whether this Mega Stone was for his Pokémon or not, if Aoki could get it, it meant that one of his Pokémon could perform Mega Evolution in the future!

Mega Evolution, though both the Mega Evolution Stone and Key Stone are needed to activate it, the most important of the two is the Mega Evolution Stone, and the Key Stone does not have any restrictions on the type of Pokémon.

Aoki managed to suppress the shock in his heart, but in his dark eyes, a stronger desire burst forth!

This Mega Stone could be a key part of his ability to break through to the Champion level and gain the strength of a Champion in the future. He had to get it!

Even if the leader of the Kabutops was powerful, as the only one who knew this place, Aoki would return.
