But now, Aoki doesn't have much time to deal with small local underground forces.
As long as someone blocks his way forward, Aoki will not hesitate to act.
In this kind of environment, it is the world of Honchkrow and Weavile.
Traveling through the darkened streets, scanning for targets, whenever they encountered anyone trying to stop them, Aoki let Honchkrow and Weavile handle the situation swiftly.
However, Jubilife City is vast. Even if Aoki searches tirelessly without rest, it would take a long time to cover everything.
Fortunately, Aoki is narrowing down the search area systematically, and after the system connected to Jubilife City's network, it further refined the possible locations.
Finally, just as Aoki thought he would have to stay awake for yet another night, the system pinpointed the most likely location.
Jubilife City Radio Tower!
The target is inside the radio tower. Aoki needs to find a way to infiltrate quietly, so there's no need to rush yet.
Now that the target's location has been roughly determined, Aoki can afford to plan carefully.
He found an inconspicuous hotel not far from the radio tower and checked in.
Having gone without sleep for two nights, even with his psychic abilities, Aoki couldn't keep going indefinitely.
Perhaps someone of Sabrina's caliber could manage it, but Aoki couldn't.
Leaving the system to monitor the situation in real time through the city's network, Aoki collapsed onto the bed without even bothering to remove his clothes.
Since midnight the previous night, he hadn't closed his eyes, desperate to confirm the target's location before they could slip away again.
But now that the system had locked onto the signal, the target wouldn't be leaving anytime soon. In fact, it seemed they had made the radio tower their base of operations, with no intention of departing in the near future.
He slept until noon the next day.
Aoki had deliberately chosen a room with a view of the radio tower's entrance, roughly a hundred meters away.
After waking, he ate a quick lunch and observed the tower's security for a while before devising a plan to sneak inside.
Leaving the hotel, he located an ordinary radio tower employee and, when no one was watching, pulled them into a nearby alley.
When Aoki emerged again, he was wearing the employee's uniform, complete with an ID badge hanging from his neck.
From his earlier observations, the guards at the entrance didn't scrutinize people too closely—as long as the badge unlocked the door, they didn't ask questions.
Technically, Aoki could have used Slowking's Teleport to enter directly, but without knowing the interior layout, he risked materializing right in the middle of someone's workspace.
Since a badge was all he needed, this method was safer.
Sure enough, with his head slightly lowered, Aoki swiped the badge and entered without issue.
The radio tower was massive, and once inside, Aoki drew no attention.
Now that he was in, the system's signal grew stronger, projecting a three-dimensional map of the building into his mind.
A flashing red dot marked his target—somewhere on the top floor.
Aoki stepped into a spacious elevator and swiped the badge, only to find that it only granted access up to the fifteenth floor.
Annoyed, he placed his hand on the control panel, letting the system override the security protocols. The elevator ascended smoothly to the top floor.
Unlike the bustling lower levels, the top floor was eerily quiet, with no staff in sight and the lights turned off.
The air conditioning hummed softly, filling the space with a cold, sterile atmosphere.
Aoki summoned Gengar—this was the perfect environment for it.
According to the system, the target was inside a large central room, likely the main control hub for the entire radio tower. Only someone with director-level clearance could enter.
The lack of light suggested the director wasn't present.
Aoki exhaled slowly.
He was close now. The solution to one of his biggest problems was almost within reach.
Just as he was about to use the system to bypass the door's security, a faint noise from inside made him freeze.
His hand, hovering near the switch, stilled.
Extending his psychic senses through the door's gap, he listened.
"The files Commander Mars asked us to retrieve should be here. As the main control room of Jubilife Radio Tower, this computer must hold the data we need," a woman's voice said.
"Are you sure? Commander Mars wants classified intel on the Lake Guardians—specifically, Mesprit," a man responded.
Aoki's expression darkened.
"Commander Mars? Mesprit? Lake Guardians? So the people inside are from Team Galactic?" His mind raced.
Team Galactic was the most powerful underground organization in Sinnoh, led by Cyrus, a fanatical extremist. Unlike Giovanni, who sought control, Cyrus wanted to destroy the world and rebuild it in his image.
Team Galactic's goal was to locate the deities of time and space, Dialga and Palkia, and harness their power to erase existence, then reshape reality.
Aoki wasn't sure how Cyrus had learned of their world-altering abilities—even Cynthia, a descendant of the ancient Celestic people, didn't know Dialga and Palkia could create worlds. Aoki had only pieced it together from Unown inscriptions.
But since Dialga and Palkia remained elusive, Team Galactic had shifted focus to the Lake Guardians—specifically Mesprit, the Emotion Pokémon, said to reside at Lake Verity.
Jubilife Radio Tower was Sinnoh's largest broadcasting hub, filtering countless reports daily. Before anything aired, sensitive information was flagged and stored in the main control room's database.
These agents were likely searching for clues about Lake Verity, hoping to track down Mesprit.
Under normal circumstances, Aoki wouldn't care. Team Galactic's schemes were none of his concern—he operated in Hoenn, after all.
But now, their presence was interfering with his mission.
If they disrupted his objective or forced him to retreat empty-handed, it would be very troublesome.
