The End of the Good Ol' Days Pt2

Yoshi pov:

Work wasn't fun well it never was but now it was even less fun 

I'm working two and a half jobs just to take care of my wife and all that time working takes away from any time I could be spending taking care of her and not to mention the psychic toll it takes on me, before I only had a construction job that would pay well enough to live on but not really much more, now I have to do that while also working as a guard and using any other free time I get to do mini jobs trying out a new drug or doing surveys and even having my brain scanned for various test that I didn't understand

With all that on my plate, I was stressed, to say the least especially since the only destresser I had was the few hours of sleep I had almost every other day day was one of those days actually I got to wake up with shen by my side or in this case, she got to wake up with me by hers because she was awake before I was 

"Good morning darling." she said to me with a smile so radiant that you might forget she was sick if you didn't look at the bags under her eyes. 

I said good morning back then looked beside her to the turtle tank on our nightstand " Hello Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, Antonello, and Michelangelo, I hope you all slept better than me and Shen. 

I could've sworn I saw Antonello nod his head like I had seen him respond to many of our rhetorical questions but I knew it was just my imagination since that is something turtles can't do

"I don't think it's possible they could've slept better than you dear you snored so loudly people thought there was an earthquake nearby" 

I can feel my face flush at her words I don't usually snore only when I'm very tired 

"Really? Well no wonder you couldn't sleep my bad" 

"No, let's call it even for this one"

What do you mean I said while checking my watch it was well past 7:30 

I was late

"I decided to let you sleep in today as punishment," she said

"Are you sure it was my punishment or did you just miss me?" I said with a hint of snark in my voice

I wasn't angry at her cause I knew she was being playful and only did it out of love but it still messed with my schedule, since it was 7:30 I was already far too late to go to my first job so I would just go to my appointment as a test subject it would start at 9:30 so I actually had a bit to relax

"It can be both," she said before she rolled a little closer to me and kissed me on the forehead "Now help me out of bed I want to spend as much time with you as possible."

I did as she asked and helped her into her wheelchair she technically could walk on most days but I didn't want her to fall when I wasn't around so I got her a wheelchair so she wouldn't strain herself I had also bought her a very elaborate cane that had swappable handles with a metallic inner shaft and wooden outer shaft but she refused to use it as it was 'too elaborate' for her so it would stay in storage most days

I didn't really have time to cook for us so I just brought out the cereal, it was Honey Bunches of Oats it wasn't her favorite but raisin bran wasn't on sale at the time so this would have to do

 "Breakfast is served, my lady," I said as I put the bowl in front of her

"Send my compliments to the chef," she said trying to match my playfulness 

As we ate I noticed her gaze on the turtles 

"Do you think they're happy?" she blurted out

I thought for a moment before responding

"I believe so. They are safe, and they are loved. That is more than many can say."

"Just because they are loved doesn't mean they can see it," she said in response

"But they can feel it, they can feel the endless affection you hold for them"

Shen smiled. "I hope they know how much they mean to us."

"So do I my love, so do I"

So this chapter was in Yoshi's pov since I wanted to try to do something different tell me what you think about it 

The next chapter will pick up exactly where this one left off, well kinda it will jump a bit in time well you'll see so there's no use explaining

Like usual give any suggestions and the like, I'll respond since there aren't many here right now also give reviews and stuff since that helps 

I changed the release date to Friday for this week but it won't always be, sometimes it will be Wednesday other times Friday it depends on which is better for me and when I finish the chapter they will not come on Thursdays unless it's like 12:00 and that's because I would've been working on it Wednesday anyways until next week
