"What did you just say?" I looked at her like she had lost her mind.
"Do you know what is happening on our side? I had to identify your corpse. Kenny is in all newspapers as being the prime suspect of your murder, and there is a ton of evidence against him. You MUST come back so that we can clear this up!" Henry suddenly spoke.
I snorted and looked at him. Yeah, and whose fault is it that I was over all the news?
"What are you talking about? I just came here today?"
The living room fell into a long silence.
"Hahahahah." I broke into laughter.
"TIME DIFFERENCES! ISN'T THAT FANTASTIC? WE ARE ALREADY HERE A FEW HOURS AND I AM NOW A FUCKING FUGITIVE!" It was one thing to miss the formal interview, another to disappear for longer. I can't do the math for now, but it could be one or two weeks already.
I was yelling so loudly that my leg moved, but Henry held it in place on spots that hadn't been injured.
"Steve said three months ago you disappeared."
"Who is Steve?" She asked, again pushing my buttons.
"DOES IT MATTER?"
"I came here this morning." She said quietly.
"Was it like this already? Like just this small city?" Henry asked, and she nodded.
"So, what? Henrietta2 disappeared for three months; the body appeared on our side. Everything is normal. Then you cross over, and this is a small city with a fucking time difference to our world?" So my visions were for a future that had in this universe already happened? WTF? The future from the time Henrietta2 disappeared. But before they landed inside this small universe?
But when I touched Haruka and saw the death of Haruka2, it was in a forest, this forest. Steve mentioned that Kenny2 'wanted to take care of' whatever when he met us.
"I think Kenny2 is now in the forest killing Haruka2, your friend." I commented. I would dwell in my new hero complex and go save her IF MY LEGS HADN'T BEEN STABBED.
"WHAT?" Henrietta sprung up and ran outside, before either of us could react.
"HENRIETTA!" Henry bellowed, but she was already gone.
"Yeah. Go and save her; have fun." I waved him away, not caring anymore.
Henry put my leg down cautiously.
"Can I go?" He confirmed again.
"Very self-aware. Yes, do what you want and get out of my sight." I snapped again at him. Henry nodded and went to the kitchen behind me before running out with a knife in his hand, following his sister.
My life at home was already ruined. At least I had warned the guys so that they wouldn't freak out, which they would anyway. I saw a TV in front of me and groped for the remote control, which I found between the couch pillows. Turning it on while asking myself if electricity was a thing here, I was really relieved when I noticed it would. Looking at the light that was burning on the ceiling, I felt dumb. Obviously, there is electricity.
I zapped around and found the cartoon with the ever-dying Kenny, finding it very matching to me and my life.
If Henrietta was dead, I wouldn't be this hard on Henry. But because she was alive all along, and I WAS FUCKING RIGHT, I felt the need to let my anger out on him before I would ask him to scram.
I fucking already knew that the cops thought I was on the run back at home. Now when we return, I will get arrested on the spot, even if Henrietta came with us.
Furthermore, if you ask me, I bet Henrietta was the one who killed Henrietta2. I think she had a grudge against me; I don't know, maybe from speaking with Henrietta2 and hearing about Kenny2. Maybe our Henrietta told her to get evidence, meet her, and that was that. Her identity as a missing person was exchanged with that of a dead woman; nobody asked questions and nobody would find her.
I hadn't thought she was this kind of person, but I am nothing but a fucking naive young man, as it seemed. Wtf. I didn't do her shit. She is a person leaving her brother to suffer by either disappearing or feigning her death. She should go to hell for that alone.
Can't she leave a message saying she was going to travel around the world like normal people?
"Oh my fucking god." I heard a foreign yet familiar voice and turned to the door. What I saw shook me to the core, making me dizzy for a moment.
I saw someone looking like myself walking to me, his eyes as wide as mine.
"What the hell, Kenny Howard?" He asked, coming closer, touching my face with wonder.
I looked into my eyes, as strangely as it sounded.
"You know a way out of this hellhole, am I right?" Kenny2 grinned, speaking with assurance. He patted my face, stroked over my eyebrow, down to my lips, like some first-class pervert.
I still had to overcome the illusion I was looking in a mirror, seeing it move without moving myself.
"You want to know how I know, don't you?"
"Hehe, it's cause I flipped the coin."
