After some time, Sora and his mother arrived at Dr. Kureha's yard and knocked on the door.
"Who is it?"
A somewhat weathered female voice came from inside the room.
Squeak!
The door opened, revealing a tall old woman dressed in a rather fashionable manner.
As soon as Kureha saw Sora and Uchiha Mikasa, her sharp eyes and senses instantly assessed their conditions.
She raised an eyebrow slightly and remarked, "One is congenitally deficient, and the other has a damaged origin. But I can see you're both recovering quickly, so you probably don't need my treatment, do you?"
Sora couldn't help but praise, "As expected of Dr. Kureha! You can see the general situation of my mother and me with just one glance! I admire you!"
"Hahaha!"
Kureha laughed out loud. "Little brat! Don't think I'll treat you just because you're buttering me up! You don't need my treatment, so you can leave!"
"Wait!"
Seeing that Kureha was about to close the door and send them away, Sora hurriedly stopped her. At the same time, he handed her a small portion of a medical book. "Please take a look at this first!"
Indeed, the conditions of both Sora and his mother could be improved with Sea Kings meat, health-preserving exercises, and his growing medical skills.
Even the difficult-to-heal soul origin deficiency could recover slowly through improving his life origin feedback.
Or perhaps breaking through the limits of Uchiha Meditation would offer a solution.
But Sora couldn't forgive himself for passing up the opportunity to learn from such an extraordinary doctor.
Who wouldn't want to recover faster?
More importantly, he wanted to learn Kureha's medical techniques and knowledge to enhance his own skills.
Not to mention, he was interested in her longevity medicine formula.
"Oh?"
Kureha glanced at the small portion of the medical book Sora handed her, raised her eyebrows, and chuckled. "Haha! Interesting kid. You've piqued my curiosity. Let me see what you're trying to impress me with!"
She took the book and began flipping through it.
Her expression shifted as she read, and soon she became completely engrossed.
After a while, she finished reading, then raised her head and looked at Sora and Uchiha Mikasa. With a slight nod, she said, "Come in with me!"
Without another word, Kureha turned and walked back inside.
Sora and Uchiha Mikasa exchanged glances before hurrying in after her, making sure to close the door behind them.
The three of them entered the living room, which also doubled as Kureha's workshop.
The room was filled with medical books, various pieces of equipment, and even a hospital bed.
After inviting Sora and his mother to sit down, Kureha poured them each a cup of tea.
Then, picking up a bottle of green plum wine, she took a sip.
Holding the small medical book in her other hand, she looked at Sora and asked, "Boy! Where did you get this medical book? The concepts in here are completely different from any medical books I've come across before. This doesn't seem to be from this era—or this world."
"Oh?"
Sora was surprised. He hadn't expected Kureha to deduce so much from just a portion of the medical book.
But he would not admit it directly unless Kureha's favorability toward him reached the required standard, and they signed a contract to disclose some information about the Otherworld.
He immediately responded, "How can you be so sure that this medical book isn't from this era? Maybe it's a hidden medical book from our clan. You haven't read every medical book in the world, have you?"
"Haha!"
Kureha noticed how Sora deliberately redirected her attention to "not from this era," but she didn't press further.
She laughed and said, "Little brat! Don't get me wrong; there are indeed medical books in this world I haven't read, but there aren't many!"
"Especially not medical books that feel so distinctly out of place in this era and world!"
"Forget it! Let's not talk about this!"
"You've succeeded in piquing my interest!"
"I'm willing to treat you, but I hope to get all the medical books you're willing to part with."
"Of course, I know this deal isn't entirely fair, so I'll let you access all the medical books in my collection in return."
"How about it? Deal?"
The medical books in her collection numbered in the thousands.
To her, this was a worthwhile trade. Sharing her medical knowledge wouldn't diminish her skills, but it might lead to mutual gains for both herself and Sora.
She hadn't made significant breakthroughs in her craft for years, and Sora's medical concepts offered hope for advancement.
'Perhaps by integrating these ideas, I can break through the limits of life and discover a higher level of existence,' Kureha thought with a glimmer of hope.
Though she'd lived for over a century, her curiosity and drive for life remained undiminished.
Had this been a different situation, she might have simply taken the book—her nickname "witch" wasn't without reason.
"Deal!"
Uchiha Sora nodded and added, "I have hundreds or thousands of medical books in the same system, and you won't find them anywhere else in this world except from me!"
"So, the conditions you're offering aren't enough!"
He raised three fingers and stated his terms.
"First, in addition to treating the illnesses of my mother and me, you must create or improve a nutritional potion or formula that enhances the effects of body-building training for us."
"Second, I want to learn and exchange medical skills with you, and you can't refuse."
"Third, I want the formula for your longevity potion. If you don't wish to part with it, I'll provide the materials, and you can refine it for me."
With the potion in hand, Sora was confident that he could reverse-engineer and master it as his medical knowledge expanded.
"Oh? Hundreds or thousands of books? That's excellent!"
Rather than being annoyed, Kureha was even more intrigued. She smiled, dismissing Sora's negotiation tactics and focusing on his terms.
"I agree to all your conditions!"
"Nutritional potions, body-building formulas, and exchanging medical skills? No problem!"
"As for the longevity potion formula? That's fine too—I'll agree to everything!"
"However, let me remind you that refining longevity medicine requires the dragon bones of a millennial dragon. That's an essential material!"
"Yeah!"
Sora nodded confidently. "I've known about that for a while. It's not a problem for me!"
The dragon bones of a millennial dragon? While it might be an enigma for others, Sora knew exactly where to find them.
There were plenty on the seabed near Warship Island, and even a living millennial dragon resided there.
"Haha! You're quite well-prepared!"
Kureha was surprised by his confidence but grinned and asked, "So, do you have any other requirements? Speak now so we can finalize this deal!"
"No!"
Sora shook his head. "I'm satisfied with this! People shouldn't be too greedy!"
