"What?"
Daniel almost believed her.
He thought she was going to reveal her true identity.
But when he saw her smile, he realized she had done it on purpose.
"Mr. Wilson, I'm sure you've heard the phrase 'love me, love my dog.' I've realized I'm starting to like you recently. So, I'm also looking into the matter you're investigating. I don't think that's a bad thing."
"Chantelle, you're really a sly woman."
"Mr. Wilson, you're too humble. I'm not as sly as you. Felix doesn't have a daughter, right?"
Chantelle's arm hurt badly. She instinctively pressed the wound but kept her face calm.
Daniel looked at her without responding.
But Chantelle had already figured everything out.
"Is it fun to trick me?"
Chantelle realized something was wrong. It turned out to be Daniel's trap.
She wondered when she had fallen into it—whether it was this time or back at the bar.
