chapter 18 Angel of Death

Emily told her father everything that happened " we don't have to do anything for now, we will let king Alexander do the job for us, I heard he doesn't show any mercy" Emily words brought satisfaction to their heart.

" She made a terrible mistake of offending king Alexander" Rachel added before sitting down elegantly on the couch.

" There is no way out for her, this time around" Emily laughed out in satisfaction. Her nemesis's life will soon be over.

In a dimly lit room, there was a lady lying on her stomach in the bed that was draped with white sheets, her face facing a side, her face looking pale and her lips charred.

A man was sitting at the edge of the bed, he held one her hand, carefully caressing it.

His tender eyes were looking at her attentively, waiting for her to wake up, waiting patiently to hear her voice.

...

In the northern part of the palace, was a man standing in the corridor of his room.

His hair were dishevelled by the wind, a man wearing black hooded robes appeared behind him.

" Is it true?" the man asked the hooded man, as he placed his hands inside his pocket.

His eyes gazing over the horizon of the sky and mountains.

" Yes my lord" my hooded man answered with a bow. With a wave of his hand, the hooded man left disappearing into thin air.

The man took a deep breath with his eyes closed, it seems like destiny is truly hard to play with, but he wasn't going to accept it without a fight.

Ethan walked out of the room to meet Alexander who was standing in the corridor.

" We should execute her tonight " he voiced in concern.

" No not yet, I will kill her with my bare hands" he said looking at his hands.

" I heard that she was almost killed by her sister, we can just do her a favour and end her misery for her" Ethan probed further, he didn't want to take any chances.

Deep down he was scared that his best friend Alexander might end up falling for her.

It is not like that is not a good thing but she will be the cause of his death. It was better to not fall in love, Ethan thought to himself.

" I said no, let's see what the werewolves are going to do with her first" he sounded so calm and tranquil, as if his life was not at stake.

....

On a bright afternoon, the sun was happily shining its light, and the melodic music of the birds could be heard.

Calista's fluttered, opening and closing, each time her view seemed blurry but was getting better.

The room was so bright and an angel was standing in front of her, " am I dead?" She murmured to herself.

" Are you here to take me to the afterlife?" her weak voice asked in full curiosity.

The angel's face that looked expressionless were a little contorted with confusion, at her question.

" It's okay I am ready to go" she said with a sad smile, she closed her eyes, stretching her hand out, " take me".

" Shouldn't you ask for a second chance, so you can have your revenge?" he asked with a bored look.

Calista opened her eyes at the familiar voice, she tried to get a better look at this angel whose aura was malicious and overwhelming.

But she couldn't, the bright light from the window obstructed her vision, he looked so ethereal " Are you an angel of death?" She asked with a tinge of fear in her heart.

" Yes," he answered firmly. She panicked " am I going to hell? I didn't do anything wrong" her eyes widened in disbelief.

She squirted her eyes at the angel who chuckled at her, he had a smirk on his lips, those lips that looked like that of a forbidden fruit.

" Are you willing to follow me to hell?" He asked casually but she felt the words were more than what he meant.

Before she could answer him, the door opened suddenly, the maid who opened the door cried out in surprise " you are awake".

She bolted out of the room in hurry to share the good news.

She turned to look at the angel but he was already gone, she blinked at the empty space " was that a dream" she muttered.

" I am still waiting for your answer, I will ask you again, make sure to give me your answer" the angel's voice filled the room, but his figure couldn't be seen.

Calista tried to stand up, but was soon struck by a tremendous pain in her back.

She groaned in pain, and prince Ezekiel ran inside the room " Calista! You are awake" he cried out happily.

He gently help her sit upright, his touch careful and comforting . " Are you okay? Do you feel any pain?" His words tumbling out in a rush.

His eyes were brimmed with happiness.

" I am fine" she said softly, though her back throbbed with pain. She pulled her hand away from his, feeling flustered. " it just… my back hurts a little".

"Someone get the healer!" Ezekiel barked, his voice commanding.

He brushed a strand of her hair out of her face, tucking it behind her ear. His touch sent a wave of warmth through her, and she felt her cheeks flush. "Can you stop doing that? It makes me feel nervous," she muttered.

"thank you for saving me" she was really grateful, but being alone in the room made her feel a little awkward.

She has never been alone with a man before, she was gazing at the ceiling as if there was something interesting on it.

Ezekiel smiled, his gaze softening. "You don't have to thank me," he said. "It's my duty as your future husband."

Her eyes widened in shock. "Future husband?!" she blurted, wincing as she strained her back. "You? How? When?" Her questions came in rapid succession.

She froze as Emily's taunts echoed in her mind. "So you really chose me as your future Luna?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Ezekiel nodded, his expression resolute. "I did. And I don't regret it for a second."
