An Attack

The days following Anthony Doyle's capture were a whirlwind of activity. The information he provided gave Alexander's team a solid advantage, but it also revealed a chilling truth: The Coalition was larger and more organized than anyone had anticipated. Marcus Wolfe, the elusive leader, had built a network of powerful allies, each with their own vendetta against Alexander.

Mia, despite the risks, refused to back down. She spent her days helping Selena and the team analyze data and map out strategies. Her resolve had only grown stronger after her involvement in the last mission. But she couldn't ignore the growing changes in her body—the constant fatigue, the cravings, and the soft swell of her belly that seemed to grow by the day.

One evening, Mia sat in Alexander's office, reviewing surveillance reports. She absently rubbed her stomach, a small smile playing on her lips. She hadn't yet told Alexander about the pregnancy; she wanted the timing to be perfect. But every day, she felt their child's presence more and more—a reminder of the love they shared and the family they were building.

Alexander entered the room, his expression grim. He placed a file on the desk and sat beside her. "We have a problem," he said, his voice low.

Mia straightened, her heart skipping a beat. "What is it?"

"Wolfe knows we're closing in. He's planning something big, and he's not hiding anymore," Alexander explained, opening the file to reveal aerial photos of a massive estate. "This is one of his main bases. He's gathering his allies there, likely planning his next move."

Mia studied the photos, her brows knitting together. "If we know where he is, can't we strike first?"

Alexander nodded. "That's the plan. But it won't be easy. Wolfe's estate is heavily guarded, and he'll be expecting us."

Mia placed a hand on Alexander's arm, her gaze steady. "We'll get through this. Together."

Alexander covered her hand with his, a small smile softening his features. "I don't know what I'd do without you, Mia."

That night, Alexander insisted Mia stay behind while the team finalized their plans for the raid. Mia reluctantly agreed but couldn't shake the feeling that something was about to happen.

As she prepared for bed, she noticed a flicker of movement outside the window. Her heart jumped, but when she looked again, there was nothing. Shaking her head, she tried to convince herself it was just her imagination.

But as she climbed into bed, a nagging sense of unease settled over her.

In the early hours of the morning, chaos erupted. An explosion rocked the estate, shattering windows and triggering alarms. Mia bolted upright in bed, her heart pounding. She could hear shouts and gunfire outside.

Alexander burst into the room moments later, his expression fierce. "Mia, stay here," he commanded, grabbing a weapon from the bedside drawer.

"What's happening?" Mia asked, fear lacing her voice.

"They're here," Alexander said grimly. "Wolfe's men. They're making their move."

Before Mia could respond, the door to the room was blown open. Two masked men stormed in, weapons drawn. Alexander reacted instantly, taking them down with precise shots.

"Come on," he said, grabbing Mia's hand. "We need to get you to safety."

Mia followed him, her heart racing. The corridors of the estate were filled with smoke and the sounds of battle. Alexander's men were everywhere, engaged in fierce combat with Wolfe's forces.

As they made their way to the safe room, Mia stumbled, clutching her stomach. Alexander immediately turned to her, concern etched on his face.

"Mia, are you okay?"

"I'm fine," she said quickly, though her face was pale. "Let's keep moving."

They reached the safe room just as another explosion shook the building. Alexander ushered Mia inside, locking the reinforced door behind them.

As the chaos continued outside, Mia sat on a couch, trying to steady her breathing. Alexander knelt in front of her, his hands on her knees.

"Mia, talk to me. Are you hurt?"

She shook her head, tears welling in her eyes. "No, I'm not hurt. But, Alexander... there's something I need to tell you."

Alexander's brow furrowed. "What is it?"

Mia took a deep breath, placing his hand on her stomach. "I'm pregnant."

For a moment, Alexander was speechless. Then, a slow smile spread across his face, and he pulled her into a tight embrace. "You're amazing," he whispered. "We're going to be okay. I promise."

As the sounds of battle began to fade, Alexander held Mia close, vowing to protect her and their unborn child no matter what.
