We'll Find Them

Days turned into weeks at the safehouse, and while the quiet solitude provided a sense of peace, Mia couldn't shake the unease that lingered in the back of her mind. She spent most of her time resting, allowing her body to heal from the explosion, and focusing on the baby. Her pregnancy was progressing well, but the fear of the unknown constantly gnawed at her. Every day, she found herself anxiously looking over her shoulder, wondering if danger was still lurking in the shadows.

One evening, as Alexander returned from another of his long meetings, he found Mia sitting by the window, gazing out at the dark forest that surrounded the cabin. Her face was pensive, and he could tell she was still troubled.

"Mia," Alexander's voice broke the silence, and she turned to face him. There was a deep intensity in his gaze, something that made her heart skip a beat. "I've been thinking."

"About what?" Mia asked, her voice soft. She stood up and walked toward him.

"About how long we can stay here," he said, his tone heavy with concern. "This safehouse is secure, but I'm not sure it's enough. I'm starting to feel like the people behind the explosion are closing in. We need to make plans for what comes next."

Mia nodded, her stomach twisting. She had been wondering the same thing. "But where do we go from here? I can't live my life in hiding forever."

"We won't be in hiding forever," Alexander said, stepping closer to her. "But we need to figure out who's behind this. Who's threatening our lives, Mia. And we need to make sure they can't hurt you or the baby."

Mia swallowed hard. She had lived in fear long enough, but now, with the baby on the way, the stakes felt higher than ever. Her life was no longer just about survival. She was protecting someone else—a little life who depended on her and Alexander.

"We'll find them," Mia said, her voice firm despite the tremor she felt inside. "We'll find out who's behind this, and we'll make sure they never hurt anyone again."
