The room pulsed with a sickly fluorescent glow, casting eerie shadows aross the laboratory equipment. Alexander stepped forward, his grip firm on his weapon. Marco's voice still crackled through the speakers, a ghost in the machine, mocking them from an unseen location.
Victor scanned the document quickly, flipping through encrypted notes and genetic sequencing charts. His eyes darkened as he pieced together the horrific puzzle.
"This isn't just about Mia," Victor muttered. "They've been running experiments on multiple subjects....for years."
Alexander's jaw tightened. "What kind of experiments?"
Victor hesitated before responding. "They were trying to manipulate genetic traits....enhancing them. Strength, intelligence, resilience they. They were creating it. And Mia....her DNA was their key."
Mia's breath hitched. She clutched her stomach instinctively. "You mean...they wanted to use me to"--
--"To perfect whatever they were building," Victor finished grimly. "They needed you alive, Mia. That's why they took you before. And they won't stop trying."
Alexander's fury burned hotter. " that won't happen. We finish this tonight."
Tracking Marco's Location
Victor worked fast, hacking into the system as Alexander's men secured the lab. The vials containing whatever Marco had been developing were carefully confiscated evidence of the horrors he had committed.
Finally, Victor's screen flickered with a signal trace. "Got him."
A red marker appeared on the digital map.
Alexander smirked coldly. "Send the team..Marco's done running."
The Final Confrontation.
The abandoned skyscraper loomed over the darkened city it's glass panels reflecting the storm brewing above.
Lighting flashed as Alexander and his team moved in.
No more mercy.
The stormed the penthouse suite, gunfire erupting as Marco's remaining guards fought back. But they were no match for Alexander's precision and fury.
He reached the top floor, kicking open the doors.
Marco stood near the floor to-ceilling window, swirling a glass of whisky as if he hadn't just sent men to their deaths. "Ah,Alexander. I was hoping for more dramatic entrance."
Alexander leveled his gun at him. "It's over, Marco."
Marco smirked, taking a slow sip of his drink. "Over? My dear friend, this is only the beginning."
Alexander pulled the trigger.
The bullet ripped through Marco's shoulder, sending him staggering backward. He let out a sharp laugh, clutching the wound. "Ah.... there's the killer I've been waiting for."
"You won't hurt Mia. You won't hurt anyone again."
Marco smirked through the pain. "You think killing me will stop Project Paragon?" He coughed, blood staining his lips. "You're wrong. It's already in motion."
Alexander stepped forward. "Then I'll burn it to the ground."
Marco's laughter faded as he collapsed, his breath slowing. His reign of terror had ended.
But Alexander knew the fight wasn't over.
Because whatever Marco had set in motion.....was still out there.
And Alexander would find it.
And destroy it.
