Silence enveloped the forest as Kaelan and his group faced Zarok, one of the ten demon generals of Varion. Zarok's figure was terrifying. His jet-black skin resembled steel, and the massive sword he wielded pulsed with dark energy, beating like a heartbeat.
"You've been disrupting my master's plans for too long," Zarok said in a low but threatening tone. "But this is where your journey ends."
Kaelan gripped his sword tightly, the blue fire aura beginning to envelop his body. "You want to stop us? You'll have to get through this first."
Zarok chuckled softly, his glowing red eyes looking at Kaelan with disdain. "Your power is impressive, human. But you're not ready to face someone like me."
Gravin stepped forward, raising his sword towards Zarok. "We'll see about that."
Without warning, Zarok swung his sword into the air, and a wave of dark energy shot toward them. "Watch out!" Gravin shouted, pushing Lyra to the side to avoid the attack. The energy struck the ground, causing a massive explosion that nearly uprooted the trees around them.
Kaelan immediately leaped forward, directing his sword, now engulfed in blue fire, toward Zarok. His attack was fast, but Zarok easily deflected it, sending sparks flying into the air.
"You're too slow," Zarok mocked, then spun his body to counterattack.
Kaelan dodged just in time, but Zarok's power felt like a storm. Each strike carried immense weight, and even the ground beneath them cracked from the pressure.
"Gravin! Lyra! Help me!" Kaelan shouted, struggling to hold off Zarok's relentless attacks.
Gravin leaped to the other side, attempting to strike Zarok from behind. But before his sword could land, Zarok turned with incredible speed, stopping Gravin's attack with one hand.
"Weak," Zarok said, then casually tossed Gravin to the ground.
Lyra raised her hand, chanting a spell that created an energy wall to protect Gravin. "We need to attack together!" she shouted.
Edrin, who had been observing from a distance, took his bow and shot an arrow toward Zarok. The arrow glowed with magical light, but Zarok simply raised his hand, catching the arrow mid-air and crushing it effortlessly.
Kaelan watched all this, feeling frustrated. Zarok's strength was far beyond what they had expected. But he knew they couldn't retreat. With all his might, he focused the blue fire energy into his sword. The hot aura began to fill the air, making the ground around them smoke.
"Alright, then. Let's try something new," Kaelan muttered.
Zarok turned, his eyes narrowing as he noticed the increasingly powerful blue aura surrounding Kaelan. "Ah, so you're finally getting serious?" he said with a mocking tone.
Kaelan didn't answer. With one swift movement, he surged toward Zarok, his speed far greater than before. The attack came so suddenly that Zarok barely had time to block.
Kaelan's sword collided with Zarok's, creating a massive wave of energy that shook the entire area. The two powers clashed for dominance, blue fire against dark energy.
"You're not as bad as I thought," Zarok said, being pushed back a few steps.
Kaelan gave a faint smile, though his breath was becoming labored. "And you're much more stubborn than I imagined."
But before Kaelan could launch his next attack, Zarok suddenly vanished. In the blink of an eye, he reappeared behind Kaelan, swinging his sword with full force.
Kaelan barely had time to turn and block the strike, and although he managed to parry it, the impact sent him flying several meters back.
"Kaelan!" Lyra shouted, running toward him.
"I'm fine," Kaelan said as he got back to his feet. But in his heart, he knew this battle wouldn't be easy. Zarok was faster and stronger than he had imagined.
"We need to work together," Gravin said, standing next to Kaelan again. "If not, we won't stand a chance."
Kaelan nodded, realizing this was not a fight he could win alone. "Alright. This time, we attack together."
They all prepared, positioning themselves to strike Zarok from different directions. This time, they would use everything they had to face one of their strongest enemies yet.
---
Kaelan stood firm, his sword, now blazing with blue fire, shining even brighter. Beside him, Gravin, Lyra, and Edrin were also ready, their energies focused on facing the powerful demon general.
Zarok stood tall before them, a sinister smile still etched on his face. "I haven't felt a challenge like this in a long time. Good, you've piqued my interest. But unfortunately, you won't last long."
Kaelan stared at Zarok with determination. "Don't underestimate us too quickly. We have plenty of ways to defeat you."
Lyra added seriously, "We won't back down. We'll defeat you, no matter what it takes."
Zarok raised his sword high, arrogantly swinging its tip. "We'll see," he muttered, as if dismissing their words. With a swift movement, he swung his sword to the ground. Suddenly, the earth around them trembled violently, and from the cracks in the ground emerged massive, terrifying creatures.
"Prepare yourselves," Zarok commanded, controlling a horde of Orcs and dark monsters that surrounded them.
The creatures charged forward with incredible speed, led by several massive Orcs that seemed stronger than those they had faced before. They brandished sharp weapons and surged toward Kaelan's group.
Edrin quickly drew his bow, firing several poisoned arrows at the enemies. However, the Orcs easily blocked them with their thick shields.
Gravin ran toward one of the larger Orcs, his sword raised high. With incredible strength, he cleaved the creature in two, though its massive body kept moving forward. Gravin dodged the next strike, deflecting the blow with his sword.
"Kaelan!" Gravin shouted, signaling for Kaelan to move forward.
Kaelan wasted no time. With astonishing speed, he leaped into the air, launching a blue fireball at the larger group of Orcs. The fireball exploded with tremendous force, incinerating several Orcs at once.
However, despite the many fallen, there were still plenty left. Zarok looked toward them with a satisfied smile. "You think you can win with just this?" he taunted, swinging his sword at them.
With a single movement, Zarok unleashed a much larger wave of dark energy than before. The wave struck the ground, creating a massive explosion that forced Kaelan and his companions to retreat several steps.
"We can't hold out much longer," Lyra said, feeling more and more pressured.
Kaelan looked at Zarok with eyes full of resolve. "We need to find a way to defeat him. Gravin, help me!"
Gravin nodded and ran to Kaelan's side, both of them preparing for a combined attack.
"Lyra, Edrin, give us support!" Gravin called.
Lyra raised her hand, creating illusions that confused the approaching Orc forces. Meanwhile, Edrin fired several magical arrows that pierced through the enemy ranks, causing chaos among them.
"Now!" Kaelan shouted.
With quick movements, Kaelan and Gravin acted in unison. Kaelan gathered all his blue fire energy into his sword, while Gravin added his physical strength to support Kaelan's attack.
"Blue fire power!" Kaelan yelled, launching a massive fire attack aimed directly at Zarok.
But Zarok was unfazed. With one motion, he raised his sword and created a dark energy shield that enveloped his body. Kaelan's blue fire struck the shield, creating a huge spark that shook the air.
"None can oppose me!" Zarok roared, swinging his sword with immense power.
Kaelan felt pressured, but he didn't give up. Gasping for breath, he drew his last reserves of power, merging with the blue fire flowing through his body. "This... is the end!" he shouted, his voice louder.
Now, Kaelan could feel a far greater power surging within him. The blue fire energy intensified, forming an almost unstoppable layer of flame. With swift movement, he directed it toward Zarok's shield.
A massive explosion occurred, shaking the ground around them. As the smoke and dust slowly cleared, Kaelan saw that Zarok's shield was beginning to crack.
"We can do this!" Gravin shouted enthusiastically.
Zarok appeared slightly surprised, but he quickly gathered his strength, focusing his dark energy to reinforce the shield. "Do you really think this is enough to defeat me?" he said in a heavy voice.
Kaelan stared at Zarok with determination. "We'll find a way."
The battle wasn't over yet, and Kaelan knew they would have to fight even harder if they were to defeat this powerful demon general.
