Chapter 53: S-Rank Lightning Release Jutsu

"Thank you for your patronage. You're eligible for a 50% discount," said a smiling kunoichi from the Akimichi Clan as she handed the bill to Hatake Sakumo.

Hatake Sakumo, known as the White Fang of Konoha, was a genius ninja. Naturally, the Akimichi Clan sought to maintain good relations with him. Besides, Jiraiya and the others were students of the Third Hokage, so they too benefited from this special discount.

"No wonder you ate so many oysters tonight. Got some plans later, huh?"

"At least I didn't eat as many kidneys as you did," retorted the first ninja.

"You two should announce yourselves before entering your homes. A good cough at the door gives your wives a chance to prepare. It's great for marital harmony," joked another.

"Good advice," someone chimed in. "Better than walking in and seeing something you shouldn't."

"Get lost, all of you! You're just jealous we're married," the first ninja fired back, laughing as they left the restaurant together.

As Jiraiya prepared to leave, Tsunade reminded him, "Don't forget what you promised me. Be here early tomorrow."

"Of course. I won't forget," Jiraiya replied with a confident nod.

Tsunade's tone softened. "Tomorrow, I want to introduce you to Isamu. Make sure you're presentable."

"Understood," Jiraiya said, straightening up slightly.

The mention of Isamu wasn't trivial—he was only slightly older than them but already a highly skilled ninja and the head of the Senju Clan. If things went well, Jiraiya might end up meeting his future brother-in-law.

(T/N: In case anyone has forgotten: Senju Isamu. His strength was second only to Sakumo Hatake's. A master of Water Release, he was said to have inherited the Second Hokage's talents.)

"Since the moon is so bright tonight, let's take a walk by the lotus pond," Tsunade suggested, her eyes sparkling as she glanced up at the moon. Without waiting for a reply, she grabbed Jiraiya's hand and led him away.

The pond glimmered under the moonlight, the lotus flowers bathed in a silver sheen.

"The moonlight really makes the lotuses look beautiful," Tsunade murmured as she leaned on the railing.

"Not as beautiful as your smile," Jiraiya said smoothly, resting a hand over hers.

Tsunade didn't pull away, and her heartbeat quickened.

"Do you really think I'm pretty?" she asked in a low voice.

"Not just pretty—absolutely stunning," Jiraiya replied without hesitation, his years of practice with cheesy lines paying off.

Blushing deeply, Tsunade could hear her heart pounding in her ears.

"I didn't know you had such a sweet-talking side," she said, trying to cover her embarrassment.

"Don't forget to come early tomorrow," she added hurriedly before turning and running toward her house.

Jiraiya chuckled as he watched her retreat.

'Looks like I'm finally making progress,' he thought, his mood soaring.

The next morning, Jiraiya stretched and spoke to the system in his mind.

"Time to check in."

Jiraiya shot upright in excitement. S-Rank jutsu were the pinnacle of elemental ninjutsu, rare and difficult to master.
