{Chapter 61: From one o'clock, I began to feel happy!}
This morning, Lin Yuan received a message from Qiu Wanxi.
Curious, he replied. He couldn't help but wonder what kind of gift Qiu Wanxi had prepared for him.
When he tried to ask her about the gift, however, Qiu Wanxi remained tight-lipped, offering no hint at all.
"This little girl…" Lin Yuan chuckled softly to himself, shaking his head. He then refocused on driving, his mind lingering briefly on the mystery of her surprise.

Meanwhile, inside Hope Cake Shop…
Xiao He and Xiao Lian exchanged looks of admiration as they watched Qiu Wanxi.
"Store manager, you're truly devoted to the Young Master!" Xiao He said, her voice filled with admiration.
Xiao Lian nodded enthusiastically. "I can see why the manager and Young Master Lin are so close. If I could be even half as dedicated as you, I'd say it wouldn't be impossible for me and the Young Master to get closer too."
Qiu Wanxi felt the warmth of their words but also a sudden rush of embarrassment. She blushed deeply and scratched her head awkwardly. "No…no… it's not like that."
However, in her heart, the truth was undeniable. She had indeed developed deep feelings for Lin Yuan.
Before Lin Yuan entered her life, Qiu Wanxi was just trying to get by, focusing on surviving the harshness of the world around her. She lived day by day, finding only fleeting moments of solace.
But now, things had changed. Since Lin Yuan came into her life, everything had become more meaningful. He was like a beacon of light in the darkness, a warmth that reached deep into her soul.
Lin Yuan had told her they could be friends, and that simple gesture made her world seem brighter. The stars in the night sky had become more dazzling every time she thought of him.
Qiu Wanxi quickly realized that she now wanted to live for Lin Yuan, to do whatever she could to make him happy. Her heart, once burdened by doubt and despair, was now filled with hope.
She didn't know how she could be of help to him, but she was determined to surprise him, to show him her best side, and to bring him joy whenever she could.
As she thought about him, an excerpt from a book she had read in her youth came to mind. It was from The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry:
"You come at two o'clock in the afternoon, then from one o'clock, I begin to feel happy. The closer the time, the happier I feel. But when it's almost two o'clock, I will fidget, and then I will show you my happiness."
The words resonated with her. She could feel her excitement rising, and the thought of seeing Lin Yuan filled her with so much anticipation that she almost couldn't sit still.
As the hour grew closer, her nervousness also grew. She had never been this eager before. Her heart raced as she counted down the minutes, and the joy she felt was almost overwhelming.
Then, after what felt like an eternity, a loud knock on the door echoed through the cake shop.
Qiu Wanxi's heart skipped a beat. She straightened up in an instant, the nerves from before mixing with a sense of excitement.
Xiao He and Xiao Lian exchanged knowing glances and smiled at her, sensing her nervousness.
With a quick glance at them, Qiu Wanxi hurried to the door. Her face broke into a bright smile as she reached for the doorknob.
But as soon as she opened the door, her smile faltered.
Standing there in front of her was a figure that caused her heart to freeze. The joy and anticipation that had filled her moments ago instantly evaporated, replaced by a rush of unease.
Her rosy cheeks paled in an instant, and her breath caught in her throat.
It wasn't Lin Yuan.
