Chapter 13: Closer

Over the course of the next few days Nori and Rika spent more time together while waiting for the next mission. Missions are usually given out by Aki but he's been a bit busy lately.

"I'll have to show you the library where we keep a lot of the history books on prophets." Rika says while sitting next to Nori.

"I'd definitely love to see it." Nori responds with a bit of excitement in his voice.

We've been talking a lot more these last few days which was nice but I'm still learning a lot of different things. But instead of learning more about my powers these last few days, I learned more about Rika.

I discovered that she came from another world and that it wasn't of her own accord but that she was summoned here to help prevent the end of our world. She's around my age and is pretty young for her species as well.

I've enjoyed my conversations with her the last few days but I'm not sure how much closer we'll be getting. I've always worried about getting to close and screwing shit up with someone.

Rika lays her head on Nori's shoulder. "I thought at first that maybe I only cared because you're the last prophet I know of, but it's not just that." Rika says while looking down towards the floor.

There's no way I won her over already when we've barely been with each other that long right? Though I have touched her breasts a few times and she's expressed quite a bit of care for me.

Nori struggles to get the words out at first. "I've enjoyed being around you." Nori says as his face begins to blush.

Maybe it's because of how she's treated me but I have enjoyed every second of it, even if it hasn't been that long since we've met. Falling in love is a cliché goal but maybe I should include it in my goals.

The last girl I liked didn't want anything to do with me so it could be different this time around.

"I don't know what fate awaits us but for now I definitely want to be by your side throughout the journey." Rika speaks with a smile on her face.

"I'm more than okay with that. I'm sure there's a lot to do and I'd be happy to have you by my side through it all." Nori responds with happiness in his voice.

Saving the world, getting girls to be by my side, and learning more about what it means to be a prophet are decent goals for now.

Nori went the rest of the day laying around with Rika as the two of them talked about what to expect going forward. The journey of a prophet has never been easy by any means.

Kamako who was the last prophet, he ended up dying during his fight with the demon lord who brought upon the chaos of the current world. Is Kamako really dead? Nori and him seen each other in that strange realm.

Nonetheless it doesn't matter since we know nothing of what will happen to him or if he will ever return. The world could've been way worse but it's where it is because he prevented the relic from causing anymore destruction.

Chronos also came into existence because of the relics effects which meant the world was in good hands for a long time.

"Rika are you sure Kamako is really dead?" Nori asks with a sudden change in his voice, a more serious tone.

Rika took a few moments before she answered his question. "He was presumed to be dead, his body was never found by anyone, nor his companion Irie." Rika answers with a bit of sadness behind her words.

Kamako spoke to me as if he was alive this whole time so what if he got trapped somewhere else? That's exactly what it seemed to be like when I talked to him back there.

Prophets are powerful so what if his power was able to save him after all?

Nori debates if he should mention anything to Rika about his encounter with the old prophet since it could be seen as insane. No other prophet in history has encountered another prophet still alive since they basically went extinct.

"What would happen if he was alive?" Nori asks with a bit of curiosity in his voice.

"He'd make a major difference in the battle against the creatures that exist now." Rika responds while turning to face Nori.

He must've been strong if he stopped everything from ending right?

"I think he could be alive but I need to learn a lot more before I try to figure it out again." Nori speaks with a bit of a serious tone.

I've probably confused her with how my tone switched up in my voice but I can't help that I'm thinking about a lot right now. Saving him could give us a huge advantage so I need to start researching as soon as possible.

A few days go by. (In an older room, filled with books.)

Rika drags her fingers down a row of books. "These are probably what you want to read, I can't believe you think he's alive. I know I was surprised before when you asked about it all but it's crazy." Rika says with a bit of a shocked expression on her face.

"I'll explain it more when I understand myself but for now I'd like to read these books." Nori replies while picking up one of the books.

He picked up a book titled "Age of Saviors." Upon opening it he was flooded with knowledge that he couldn't comprehend right away.

All these visions of things I don't understand are appearing left and right, what exactly is all this?

"Nori close that book quick!" She shouts as her hand touches his shoulder.

Within seconds a light engulfs them and everything begins to disappear around them, that's when they notice that they are standing in the middle of a grass field.

Did we just teleport somewhere? What exactly happened just now.
