Alexander sat across from his father tensed up from his sudden approach to speak. Quicksilver usually looked vibrant and ready to go but at this moment his energetic strength seemed drained. For once Quicksilver looked tired and sunken but his eyes filled with fatigue still had fight left.
"As a man, as a father, I don't believe in ever being sorry for anything. Once you say the words "I'm sorry" for the first time.. You walk the path of a sorry man."
The look of disappointment grew on Alexander's face and he no longer looked into his father's eyes. Quicksilver noticing this only grew bolder in his tone.
"Son! When a man is talking to another man you look him in the eyes and see the conversation all the way through!"
Alexander slowly looked up meeting his father's gaze that was growing in strength and ambition.
Quicksilver realizing he had Alexander's attention again was ready to speak his mind again.
"I will never be sorry for anything I do. But I do feel bad. I did make a mistake that's what the human experience is. As a parent and as a man I will make many more mistakes. Learn from me don't be sorry but please son. Learn when to apologize."
Alexander's eyes widened as Quicksilver gripped Alexander's shoulder's getting down on a knee with one fist over his heart the other gripping Alexander's shoulder.
"Son I apologize for hitting you. I betrayed everything that I am as a man, a father and knight in that moment."
Quicksilver grinded his teeth together thinking of that moment. The pain covering his face was an unbearable sight.
Alexander hugged his father tighter then ever. Alexander couldn't stand to be part of anything causing his father pain. Alexander felt his father embrace him back. Alexander and Quicksilver never truly hugged this embrace made Alexander feel safe from all harm and warm. Exiting from this embrace was a very sad moment for Alexander because he knew this was a rare moment.
Quicksilver looked revitalized after getting it all off his chest.
"Son I promise to hear you out from now on"
Alexander was happy to hear this smiling with his eyes.
"Dad?"
"What's up?"
"Am I weak?"
"Compared to what?"
"Well I guess.. Compared to other kid's"
Quicksilver chuckled at Alexander's question.
"Where is this all coming from?"
Alexander was conflicted on what to say for a brief moment choosing to tell most of the truth.
"Well I made some friends recently and they are all strong in their own rite"
"Well you are certainly stronger then me when I was your age."
Alexander frowned at this answer.
"Son your only 7 you have all the time in the world. Whatever you don't like about yourself polish it and get better"
Alexander questioned his father.
"Dad haven't you ever had someone you wanted to beat in something?"
Quicksilver thought back to when he was a kid.
"When I was younger before I got the name Quicksilver I had a friend that beat me in everything."
Quicksilver dove deep into his story. In an alley two kids were having an epic showdown.
"I will be the king submit to my will Gerald!"
A clonk could be heard as the wooden sticks each child had clashed against one another. With Gerald being pressured towards the ground until the sticks snapped allowing Gerald to wrap around the other kid. Pinning him down in an armbar
"Wow it seems like things have turned in my favor this time Brian"
Brian tapped in submission to Gerald obviously disappointed in the results.
"This is stupid I'm tired of this! I never win. You must be cheating or something Gerald."
Brian only grew angrier after Gerald let him up.
"You know what I'm not doing?"
Gerald teased Brian pointing his fingers at him in the shape of an L. Brian smacked away Gerald's fingers.
"What?"
"Making excuses."
Brian was fuming after Gerald's last comment swinging on Gerald but to his surprise everything was upside down in an instance as his back met the ground with a loud thud. Gerald groaned feeling the pain shooting up his spine.
"This.. Is not.. Fair"
Brian's face couldn't hold in the tears. Gerald was in shock.
"Why would you do that?"
Questioned Gerald.
Brian felt the back of his head and noticed he was bleeding a little. Brian woke up in an hospital not far from his orphanage. Upon waking up he saw a letter from his friend Gerald next to his favorite snack a chicken stick. Brian read the letter soaking the pages with his tears.
"Hey Brian I hope your ok. I felt really bad hurting a friend… well it's better to say family. Since we were little this Bluewall city is all we've known. I have betrayed your trust and drawn blood. It's time for me to take my leave. P.s I guess I kinda cheated I have a skill called Insight that allows me to predict your next move. Until next time brother"
Brian stumbled out the bed running out the hospital the nurse in charge of him tried to catch him but he was to fast.
"Sir you have to be taken care of properly because that wound may be more serious then you know."
The words the nurse was shouting was irrelevant as he arrived at the orphanage he burst through the doors out of breathe running to the room with all the beds checking a drawer.
"It's empty."
Days went by turning into months. The months stretched to years until the frail orphan named Brian was no more only getting more vicsious in his training. Knowing that one day he would see his old friend again.
"Brian step forward. For your feats on the battlefield, Hardwork and dedication we bestow upon you a Knighthood and a title. Because you are well known for having a Silver grade speed skill and the swiftness you dispose of your enemies with. Today forward you shall be known as Quicksilver."
Returning to the present Quicksilver said a silent prayer to himself bowing slightly then returned his attention to Alexander.
"Son learn from my mistakes and don't let jealousy or envy stop you from allowing your friendships to evolve. If your friends are stronger they probably worked hard for that so you have to put in the work to keep up."
Alexander grasped what his father was saying and deemed it to be truth.
"But what happened to Gerald?"
