Just before Kieran walked into the library, he turned toward Snow.
"Hey Snow, would it be possible for you to become invisible, or whatever it was you did when we first met? I can't help but think you might get us into trouble walking around the sect without being a disciple."
"Of course, Master. My ability allows me to hide in a pocket of space and to move space around myself while simultaneously allowing me to keep watch on my surroundings and move quickly when needed. If you need me simply call for me and I will be there."
'I didn't need to know all that but thanks.' Kieran thought to himself.
Without any further words, the space around Snow warped much the same as when she first appeared before she slowly disappeared.
Kieran smiled at how convenient it was to have an invisible bodyguard before continuing on into the library.
Walking into the Cultivation library, Kieran was immediately awed by his surroundings.
The cathedral-like ceiling was incredibly tall. All around, there were bookshelves that rose from floor to ceiling jam packed with books.
In between these bookshelves there were floating soft brown stones casting a gentle light down upon the long tables used for studying and relaxing.
Directly in front of Kieran stood a large podium where a beautiful and big breasted woman had her back slightly turned to the entrance as she was cleaning up a few things.
"Cultivation library is closed for the day. Come back tomorrow."
Without turning around the Elder spoke to Kieran in a neutral tone, neither rude nor kind.
Kieran stopped and was about to turn around and leave before he got an idea.
"Sorry elder, I wasn't sure when the library closed or even when it opened. I'm still new here haha." Kieran spoke in a soft but deep voice.
Hearing his voice, the Elder paused suddenly, her arms no longer moving away the items she had been clearing on the desk.
Eventually, she turned around with a friendly expression on her face before speaking in a drastically different tone than before.
"It's fine! Typically we're open from sunrise to sunset. I'll admit that we're closing up a little early today, so if you want to look around for a little bit, I can escort you around." As she said this, a shifty look appeared in her eyes giving away her true intentions.
Kieran pretended not to notice and smiled before replying.
"That would be great, I apologize for the inconvenience Elder."
"Please, just call me Senior Sister Belle, or actually, how about just Sister Belle. You're our one and only Prime Disciple, surely it isn't inappropriate to do so."
Elder Belle spoke with a weird smile as she spoke.
"Of course, if Sister Belle wishes it to be so, then so it shall be. As I've said previously, I'm still new here, so I would like it if you could show me around. I'm trying to obtain a movement technique and an attacking technique. I don't have a weapon yet, so I'm not sure which fits me best, perhaps you can give me some guidance?"
The elder had a strange expression in her face before she suddenly replied.
"Well, we are the Divine Sword Sect. Not the Divine Axe or Fist sect, so naturally we specialize in the sword and that's what all of our techniques are geared around. I'm sure you could find a technique for fists around here but I would hinestly be surprised if you found a spear technique or something. That aside, as a Prime Disciple your level of learnable techniques is not limited at all, but just like all sect elders and disciples, you are only authorized to take one technique from the library at a time."
Kieran nodded before he began to think about what he needed most right now.
A movement technique was important but he felt that with his passive skill matter over mind, a lot of dodging and other things that require him to get out of danger would be taken care of by this skill.
In that case it would mean that the most important thing right now would be a sword technique. Thinking along these lines, Kieran realized he needed a sword.
Putting this fact aside for now, he finally broke the silence and responded to the Elder.
"As much as I would like to be able to grab two techniques, if I'm truly restricted to just one I'd like to choose a sword technique. I think that it would benefit me the most right now."
"Of course! Right this way." Elder Belle suddenly followed a small pathway to the side down a narrow corridor. At the end of the hallway it opened up to a larger area with noticeably less books available.
"This here is the top sword techniques of the sect. Please let me know if you have any questions."
Smiling Kieran began to look around at the available books.
Floating crane technique.
Giant eater technique.
Slithery snake technique.
Carp Leaping Over the Dragons Gate Among The Nine Primordial Heavens With the Roaring River of Life and Heart Destroying Dao technique.
'Bro who the fuck came up with the name on that one? Dumb as fuck.'
Kieran laughed to himself at how absurd the name was but given the uniqueness he decided to ask about it.
"Whats this technique about? It seems a bit…much…" Kieran asked with a strange look.
"Oh that one. It's a good technique. Not a lot of people practice it, but because of its ease in training it is a rather valid technique. It's not particularly special in any way and is outshined by others. Honestly it's only here due to the power you get for the relative ease with which it is trained."
Kieran nodded before he continued looking through the techniques.
After many minutes his eyes fell on one he just knew would be good.
The Primordial Yin and Yang Sword Technique.
"What about this one Sister Belle?"
"Hmmm. Nobody really trains in that technique. Generally it's considered impossible by most who pick it up, and generally people only grab it for its deep knowledge it can impart about swords in general."
"If you can even understand a small portion of this technique it will help you greatly in the way of the sword." She explained.
Kieran knew immediately.
"I'll take this technique please."
