Alec recognized my phone.
It had a photo of us together from our college days.
Alec grabbed the person's hand.
"Where did you get this phone?"
The one he grabbed was an orderly.
She had taken it from my bag.
Seeing Alec's white coat, the orderly didn't dare lie to him.
"I got it from a dead person."
Hearing this, Alec tightened his grip on the orderly's hand in agitation.
"Where is her body?"
The orderly's wrist ached from Alec's grip.
"It was sent for cremation long ago. Who knows where her ashes are now?"
Upon hearing the word 'cremation', Alec collapsed to the ground.
The frightened orderly quickly dropped the phone.
"It wasn't me, don't come after me. Nobody claimed the body, we just followed protocol."
"Here, take the phone. Just don't come looking for me again."
With that, she ran off without looking back.
Alec stared at the phone before him.
In the photo, I was smiling at Alec.
Alec's fingers dug into the ground, leaving bloody marks.
