AN:- SORRY FOR NOT UPLOADING FOR A WEEK, BUT I DID SDAY THERE IS NO SCHEDULE FOR THIS FANFIC. ANYWAYS,HOPE YOU GUYS LIKE CHAPTER 4.
[PREVIOUSLY ON LUCIFER-VERSE]
"Hello there Doc." a young man, in his early 20s sits on the couch. I nod at him, giving him a polite smile.
"Hello there, Peter Parker."
Pattern is an interesting thing, especially if someone Understands and Knows Patterns. The other name for this Pattern is Probability. If Lucifer Morningstar has the ability to Will things, manipulating existence as a whole were able to figure out how Patterns, or chain reaction works, then i can force- i mean, consensually bring them to my Therapy sessions.
"So Peter, Tell me about yourself." Peter Parker, who just finished High School and Is going to college was forced to come here after his Aunt May wanted him to come here. all i manipulated was Sliding a Poster of my therapy clinic, with it's five stars ratings inside of Their House, subtly Influencing May's brain to remember Ben's memory, and how it hurt Peter-
And Voila!
"I Did everything right, right?" He made a joke, causing me to chuckle. I nod at him, while looking down at the registration file, surveying his information and making sure it is correct by using Will. my Power can allow me to summon information whenever i want at will, so that helps me discern between truth and Lie.
"Yes, but I always want people to explain about themselves, to understand how they think about themselves. So please, fulfill my silly request." I try to give him a smoothing smile, but Peter doesn't see this as a chance to open up. He sighs, not at all liking the fact that he is going to therapy. The only reason he is even here is because Aunt May blackmailed him into coming here.
Stupid Grounding Rules!!
"All right. My Name is Peter Parker, and I am Spider-Man." Peter's eyes widen, while I have an amused smile on my face. He looks at me in shock, while opening his mouth once again.
"wai-wha? I am Spider-man, but I don't want to be Spider Man Anymore. I just want to quit- what the hell am I even talking about?" Peter gets up, shocked at why he is speaking up like this. I remove my glasses, deciding to reveal my 'abilities'.
"Well, that would be because of me. Like you, I am also a superpowered Individual." Peter's eyes widen in panic, not at all understanding WHY his Spider-Sense isn't warning him Of Anything. his Spider-Sense somehow has the ability to feel powers being used on him, but why is it he can't feel anything?
"what?" Peter doesn't know what to think. Why am I even revealing this to him? It doesn't make sense to Peter, who fought various Villains in his three years as Spider-man. In these three years, he has lost his childhood friend Gwen Stacy, His Uncle Ben, his Friend Harry Osborn swearing revenge against him, etc.
"My abilities allow me to bring the truth out. the deepest secrets inside of one's heart comes out, allowing me as a therapist to talk about them with my Patients." Spider Man looks shocked, but understands quickly WHY his spider Sense didn't work. The power affected Peter in a way which was not Harmful for him, since all that was affected was him being truthful.
"so, therapy isn't about talking about your problems for a long period of time, but just forcing someone to reveal their deepest secrets in one go huh?" Peter being Peter, sarcastically comments about the annoyance he is having at being forced to reveal his secrets. He turns towards the Door, ready to move out.
"C'mon Peter, at least try talking about it. Try Talking to someone who actually KNOWS you- or well, understands you as you understand yourself. just try this at least once." Peter looks back at my smiling face, contemplating just flipping me off and leaving, but for the first time, he thinks that someone might finally be able to understand him.
Through the Ability of Will, I can 'download' thoughts that are going in front of me into my brain, so I can know what Peter is thinking. not only that, but i can also 'influence' thought processes, so if i wanted, i can 'influence' his thoughts. I don't think so, since I genuinely want him to choose what is best for him.
The reason I started therapy is for him only, no one else.
"okay, but no more using powers on me." he pops back to the chair, while i nod with a smile. deciding to not use my powers on him....unless something pops up that is.
"sure. Now, I am curious about something. How and why did you become Spider-Man?" Peter Sits straight, putting his hands together as he thinks of a proper answer. At first, he wants to skip it, but knowing what therapy is and also trying to believe in me, he decides to answer it.
"i...gained Super strength, super speed, the ability to wall climb and a weird sense i call spider sense when i was bitten by a radioactive Spider during a trip to Oscorp industries. At first, I became a Wrestler to earn Money since we were poor, but I took on the responsibility of saving people after my Uncle Talked me into it." Peter smiles, reminiscing about the old days, when everything was so simple. but when he speaks about Uncle Ben, his tone becomes sad.
I notice it, and capitalize on it.
"Your Uncle Ben, he...passed away didn't he?" Peter looks at me, me having an understanding expression on my face. He nods, continuing to speak.
"Yeah, he....was killed by a burglar...whom i didn't capture. The burglar stole from a jewellery store, but that day, I was pissed at Uncle Ben since we had a conversation about Grades, and I said some things to him I cannot take back. He told me something after i got my powers, about how "From Great Power, there must also come Great Responsibility"."
the powerful words that inspired many people in my original world to change their life, the words that made people, including me, fall in love with Marvel comics and comics in general, the words that make people utterly respect the person known as Peter Parker. a person whose Life is always ruined by the writers, gets up and again, to do the write thing.
the words that made Peter ruin any happiness he could feel for himself.
"this responsibility, what is it?" I speak as calmly as possible, trying to make Peter speak more. which he does, thankfully.
"These powers I have gained, make me responsible on how to use them. people out there do not have the same powers as i do, they cannot defend themselves like i do, so as the one with powers, it is my responsibility to make sure that innocent people are defended properly." Peter sighs, knowing that in his heart, he is correct. but he just wants to quit.
'I am tired, constantly fighting, constantly Lying all the time to my loved ones. For what? for people to smear my name, bad mouth me every time i do something helpful. why? why is it me that has to suffer?' i can hear Peter's thoughts, and remember something from one of the comics where the One above all talked to peter.
'everyone has a role in life, and Spider Man just happened to be yours.' Basically, OAA told Peter to deal with it, which is exactly what I am going to make him do.
"Peter, did your Uncle ever tell you about what he had in mind when he talked about Power?" Peter looks confused, but he shrugs.
"Well, I always thought about him, meaning my powers. I did suspect that Uncle Ben did know that I somehow gained powers." He looks at me, thinking that the answer satisfied me, but I just continue speaking.
"Well, Power can be subjective. For example, A Manager in a company has more power than a normal employee. and it is his responsibility to make sure that he uses it properly to advance the company. Now, let's take you as an example too." Peter Narrows his eyes, not understanding where this conversation is going.
"Why me?" Peter doesn't like the fact that he is being used as an example to prove a point, but I shrug off his discomfort, continuing my "therapy".
"you don't have anyone other than your aunt anymore right?" While it might seem heartless, I need to push through. Peter Nods, hesitant. Even though all information is in the registration File, he doesn't feel happy about revealing this information.
"As you are the only one that Your Aunt has, it is YOUR Responsibility to make sure she is healthy, she is well fed, and she is happy. as you are her last relative, that is the power you have." Peter's eyes widened in shock, understanding what I meant. He starts contemplating, remembering all the times his Aunt is all alone when he does his "other" duties.
Her health deteriorated a couple of times, but she always sprung back up, healthy. but was it due to him helping her? taking responsibility for her?
No. it was HER taking responsibility for HIM, making sure he is well fed, slept well, and always enquired about his health. and what did she get in return, getting kidnapped by villains who wanted Peter dead, constantly worrying about him, and being alone most of the time.
"I-I." Peter puts his hands on his head, cannot believe his arrogance. In his mind, he thought about how Power meant his spider powers, and how he was responsible for protecting people with no powers. but he never focused-
No, he discarded the responsibility of taking care of his Aunt, a mother who took care of him his entire life. how could he be so-
"Don't blame yourself About this Peter. you chose-" Peter Snaps at Me, his emotions running wild.
"How can you tell me NOT to blame myself? I abandoned the responsibility of taking care of my aunt, just because I wanted to be special, to be someone who used his powers to help people. because i CHOSE to be Spider-Man and NOT Peter Parker, my Aunt is-" i interrupt him.
While it is good he has self-realisation, the answer for his problems is quite simple.
"Then Quit." as if a spell struck Peter, He calms down, staring at me in shock. He stutters for a little bit, like his brain is rebooting, which it is. After a few seconds, he starts speaking.
"Quit? that's not it. that's not all there is to it, it is because of me being Spider-Man that-" i interrupt him once again. This time, my tone is blank, making him feel embarrassed.
"That's all there is to it. it's just that simple. you WANT to be Spider Man, then be Spider Man. If you want to be Peter, then be Peter. stop trying to think of consequences when you haven't even made a decision yet." While this conversation didn't go the way I wanted, it atleast makes Peter think for a second about everything.
"If I don't think about the consequences, then people will be hurt." Peter is annoyed now, the fact that this therapist, who hasn't done anything like him speaks like it is such a simple decision is kinda pissing him off. It is like I am pissed over all the decisions Peter made in his life.
which i am, kinda.
"you know about the 3rd Law of Motion right?" Peter looks pissed off right now, but he controls his anger and nods, speaking up.
"yeah, how is that even remotely connected to my Situation?" While Peter understands that I am somehow using the third Law of Motion as an example, he doesn't understand why.
"your ACTION to be Spider Man has an equal REACTION of you saving innocents, but an opposite REACTION of you not beng Peter Parker. IF your ACTION is to be Peter Parker, it has an equal REACTION of your loved ones being happy while the Opposite REACTION is you not being Spider Man." Peter Blinks, surprisingly understanding what I am trying to convey to him.
He tries to think of an answer to what I just said, but he cannot come up with anything. I checked the time, noticing something Interesting in my office at L.A. I decided to end the session here, as it is time for him to properly think without having an outside opinion.
"Our Session is ending, but I would like you to bring me an answer next time." Peter looks up at me in surprise, not realising how fast time went when talking to me. He listens intently, while I ask him the most important question of his entire life.
"Are you Peter Parker, or are you Spider Man? since eventually, you have to choose." Peter's eyes widened in shock, not at all expecting this kinda question. I got up, making him subconsciously get up. As I walk towards the door and open it, Peter walks through it, still dazed.
"if you would like to book another Session with me, do feel free to contact me, you have my Personal Number in your Chest Pocket." As Peter snaps out of his daze, he pulls out a card with my face on it, with a red light and a lighting that seems to be horns behind my head. a personal phone number is written behind the card.
as Peter tries to enquire how the hell this was in his pocket, i close the door. I switched off all the lights, before Willing the area around me to move, back to my Clinic in L.A.
I open the door, walking outside. I turn left and start walking down the street, right near a car which I grab the handle off, opening its door and sitting on the seat. The person who is in the driver seat is surprised, but he pulls out a gun and points it at me. I grin at him, noticing how similar he looks to the Movies and TV Shows.
Phil Coulson in the flesh, in front of me. After a few seconds, he puts his gun down, going to question me on how I found him and why I sat in his car, but I just chuckle, making him on edge.
"Bring me to meet Nick Fury, would Ya? it seems he was an audience against me." With that comment, I slide back, getting comfortable as Phil looks at me, trying to glean any information from my posture. At first, he is shocked, but he calms down, having intel that I know a lot. He talks in his comms.
"Yes Sir." With that, he starts the car, bringing me to a place only S.H.I.E.L.D. (or at least that's what they think) knows about. my grin widens, but i just close my eyes, deciding to take a small nap.
THE END
