I decided to open a bank account, eager to start receiving payments for my future job. At the bank, I was greeted by a friendly gateman who directed me to the second floor. After completing the account opening process, I deposited two hundred thousand naira from the mysterious stranger's gift.
As I walked to a nearby small chops stand, I was suddenly confronted by a group of rowdy men. One of them made a lewd comment,
"Take it easy there sweetie, you don't want to hurt those beautiful legs."
Another one chimed in, "Omo, this one go sweet for bed oh," as he licked his lower lip. I was taken aback, but before I could respond, a burly man intervened, chasing them away. I was shaken but grateful for the stranger's kindness. He looked familiar and that's when I recalled that he was same man that handed me that ridiculous amount of money. Has he been stalking me?
The next day, I visited a phone store to purchase an Android phone. As I entered the store, I was immediately drawn to a sales attendant who was standing behind the counter. He was tall, with a chiseled jawline and piercing brown eyes that seemed to see right through me. His dark hair was perfectly messy, and his bright white smile could light up a room. He was wearing a crisp white shirt and a pair of fitted jeans that accentuated his athletic build.
"Hello, welcome to our store," he said, his deep voice sending shivers down my spine.
"How can I help you today?"he added.
"I need a new phone," I replied, trying to sound casual despite my growing attraction to him.
"Okay, let me show you some of our latest models," he said, walking over to a nearby shelf. "We have a range of Android phones from different brands. What's your budget like?"
"My budget is fifty thousand naira," I replied.
"Okay, I have just the thing," he said, picking up a sleek Samsung phone. "This is one of our best-selling models. It has a great camera, plenty of storage space, and a long-lasting battery."
As he showed me the phone's features, our hands touched, and I felt a spark of electricity. I quickly pulled my hand away, feeling a little flustered.
"Is this the one you want?" he asked, looking at me with a hint of amusement.
"Yes, this is the one," I replied, trying to sound confident.
As he rang up the purchase, we chatted about everything from music to movies. I was surprised by how easy it was to talk to him.
"Thanks for your help," I said, as he handed me the phone.
"No problem, it was my pleasure," he replied, smiling at me. "By the way, my name is Damola."
"I'm Sandra," I replied, feeling a little shy.
As I turned to leave, he called out to me. "Hey, Sandra."
I turned back to him. "Yes?"
"I saved my number on your new phone," he said, winking at me.
"Call me when you get home, princess."
I felt a flutter in my chest as I walked out of the store. I couldn't believe how much I had enjoyed talking to Damola.
As I walked away from the store, I stumbled upon a sign advertising a job opening at a nearby restaurant. I seized the opportunity and was hired as a waitress.
Returning home, I shared the exciting news with my mother. Just then, a knock at the door interrupted us. It was a representative from an unknown sender, bearing papers for a new house.
"Good day ma'am" she said as she handed me a file.
"This is the deed to your new house" she added
"A new house?" I asked, stunned, and turned to my mom, who looked just as surprised as I was. "Who's this from?" my mom chimed in, but the woman just smiled and said,
"Have a good day, ma'am," before turning and walking away, leaving us both wondering who could have sent such a mysterious message.
The mysterious benefactor had arranged for us to move into a beautiful bungalow in an upscale estate.
There were men waiting to escort us to the house once we were ready to depart. I had my reservations about going, but my mom reassured me that everything would be okay.
As we settled into our new home, I couldn't help but wonder about the identity and motives of our generous benefactor.
Who was this person, and why were they being so kind to us? I looked over at my mother, who was smiling as she explored our new home. I knew that I had to find out more about our benefactor, but for now, I was just grateful for their kindness.
