Chapter 5: Helping You Torment the Scum

Like Lin Cheng, the scion, although he shares the same arrogance and willfulness as other rich second-generation peers, it also depends on whom he's dealing with. With a father who fought for his place in the world, having seen and heard much, naturally, he knows how to gauge the severity of a situation. A rash move could indeed result in kicking an iron plate. However, if they were just allowed to walk away like that, would Taoyuan still be Taoyuan?

"Hey, Brother Ye, since it's your first time here, why not sit down for a chat before leaving?" Lin Cheng stepped forward to keep them staying, his eyes filled with sincerity.

"No, Young Master Lin, as you know, we..."

"Hmph, really taking yourself for the Tang Family's son-in-law, from the looks of it, you're either a nouveau riche from the Shanxi coal mines or a Phoenix man dead set on climbing up the ranks. Young Master Lin offering you tea is showing you respect, but you don't want face when it's given!"

Ye Tian was startled and looked up to see a person who looked like a bodyguard, with a crew cut just like his, approaching with a cold face, taking three steps in two and throwing a punch. Looking at Lin Cheng again, his hands were raised in a semi-posture, his intentions couldn't be clearer.

Using someone else's foot to kick, even if it strikes an iron plate, it shouldn't be a big deal.

Lin Cheng was very confident in his bodyguard, who had been introduced by a friend, a former special forces soldier. Lin Cheng had personally witnessed him punch the chin off of a stone lion at the entrance of Taoyuan, with terrifying force.

However, it seemed this Ye Tian was going to be a bit tougher to handle than that stone lion.

Stepping forward, he shielded Tang Su behind him, a calloused fist flew toward them, only for Ye Tian to easily block it. "Brother's got good skills, authentic military boxing, you must be from the military, right?"

The person called Fu was surprised, only to feel a strong force coming at him, his forward-leaning body from the punch was forcibly straightened up by the other man, like a puppet being manipulated, standing at attention.

"Fu, how dare you treat my guest this way! Get lost!" Lin Cheng stepped out at just the right moment to scold his insubordinate subordinate, while also looking at Ye Tian with a face full of apologies, "I failed to discipline him properly, making Young Master Ye witness such a farce."

Young Master Ye. Suddenly changed the tone.

Ye Tian smiled and took Tang Su's hand, casually wrapping his arm around her slender waist which turned even redder. She wanted to struggle but didn't dare, with her head lowered she bit her lip desperately. Anyone coveting her would be shocked to see this, "I was the one who didn't know better, and I don't blame this brother. But Susu and I really have something urgent today, so... I'm truly sorry."

He had suffered a setback and could not force them to stay; Lin Cheng smiled, "Please feel free; next time, I will make sure to visit!"

Visit? More like troublemaking!

The two turned to leave, Tang Su struggled a bit in Ye Tian's embrace. Sensing this, Ye Tian whispered in her ear, "Sister Tang, you have to understand, a bodyguard needs to stay close." He emphasized the words "stay close" heavily, his tone carrying an indescribable excitement.

Tang Su regretted internally, and just as they got out of everyone's sight, Tang Su was about to snap when she heard Ye Tian's voice, "At three o'clock is a 360-degree camera, at twelve o'clock there's one too... Don't look up! I don't believe that Lin Cheng isn't squatting in front of the monitor watching us!"

Ye Tian's indignant expression seemed to be out of concern for Tang Su, prompting an eye roll from her. Given the current situation, they have to assume the cameras might be watched. So, she decided, let him take some advantage for now. Tang Su felt the restless palm on her waist and was nearly driven to murderous thoughts.

Only when they had left the building and got into their car did the monitoring room of Taoyuan lose their images.

Taoyuan, in the surveillance room.

Lin Cheng had two other people standing behind him, companions from the city he got along with fairly well. One of them, a bald man with earrings, turned to the person beside him and asked, "Fifth, what do you think?"

As if catching a glimmer of hope, Lin Cheng turned back to look at the man called Fifth.

With a baby face that paradoxically gave off an unusual sense of stability and maturity, dressed in a classic Chinese tunic suit, long hair draped over his shoulders, exuding a gentle and soft aura, the one named Fifth crossed his legs as he sat on the chair, swirling the red wine in his goblet, and said while looking at the screen displaying Ye Tian, "From the moment he entered to the time he left, it was just three minutes, tops. And right off the bat, he asked to go home; the gestures were affectionate, the tone suggestive, like they couldn't wait to announce to the world they're a couple. It's overdone."

Those few brief comments enlightened the other two.

"You're saying..."

"Most likely a shill set up by Tang Su, but shills of such caliber are rare to find. Not having it our way isn't in the style of the 'Huaizhou Third Young Master'. It's inconvenient to take action at home, but there's no way we're letting them have a smooth ride on the road."

Excitement painted itself on Lin Cheng's face as he said to the bald man, "Zijian, arrange it."

Soon after, a white BMW left Taoyuan and joined the traffic on Chaoyang Street.

A black Toyota sedan cruised down Chaoyang Highway, blending into the flow of vehicles, while Ye Tian sat forlornly in the passenger seat, secured by the brown seat belt.

"What, feeling wronged? If you hadn't been all handsy with me, I wouldn't have... forget it, never mind!" It seemed Tang Su was too exasperated to speak clearly.

As the heiress of the Tang Family, she had been the center of adoration throughout her life and had never suffered such indignity; she was held in a man's embrace whom she'd only known for less than twenty-four hours. Although it wasn't exactly hands all over, it was pretty close. Just thinking about the smug look in Ye Tian's eyes was driving Tang Su insane.

"Tang... Sister Tang, was my performance just now... was it okay?"

Such a pitiful voice, yet to Tang Su it sounded like salt being thrown into an already sizzling pan, "Great! Just great! Why don't we do it again, huh?"

"Drive safely, drive safely." Ye Tian knew she was genuinely angry, fixed his tone, sat up straight, and looked dead ahead with a serious demeanor, the very image of a righteous man.

Seeing him like this deflated Tang Su's anger, leaving her to stew in silence.

"Sister Tang, it looks like you've got trouble," Ye Tian said as he slouched in the passenger seat, posture seductively relaxed. Although the Toyota wasn't very prestigious, the comfort inside was commendable.

Following Ye Tian's gaze, a white BMW sedan appeared in the rearview mirror, its roaring engine like a wild beast pouncing on its prey - Tang Su's black Toyota.

"Song Zijian, bastard!"

Even when angry, a beauty remains a beauty. Watching Tang Su's somewhat fierce expression, Ye Tian suddenly recalled two letters that tended to stir the imagination - S.M.
