Chapter 29: The Contract

Chapter 29: The Contract

The world stood still. The roaring winds of ice and death froze mid-howl, and the blinding pillar of Absolute Zero paused as if time itself dared not move. In that moment, a warmth unlike any Jason had ever known enveloped him—a warmth that defied the bitter cold that sought to consume him whole.

A voice, gentle and ancient, resonated within his soul.

"Save that child. She is about to break the ancient contract, and if she does, she and her children will be annihilated, and her lineage will perish forever."

The touch on his back felt like the embrace of a mother—loving, protective, and eternal.

"I will help you, just this once. Survive… and try hard, little one. We will meet again at the end of Paradis."

The voice faded, but the warmth remained. And with it—power.

Jason's body ignited with golden brilliance, his aura surging beyond mortal limits. His hair turned pure gold, and his eyes gleamed with a light that rivaled the stars. The wounds that marred his body vanished, and his strength overflowed like a river breaking free from its dam.

With a cry that shook the heavens, he thrust his hands forward.

[Supreme Authority – Eternal Sanctuary] ActivatedA colossal golden barrier erupted, colliding with the frozen pillar of Yvraine's attack. The world trembled from the clash of divine forces—gold against frost, life against death. The impact shattered mountains and split the earth, but the city…

The city stood unharmed.

The people, witnessing the impossible, fell to their knees. Awe, fear, and reverence filled their hearts. They did not know what they were witnessing—only that they were seeing the birth of something greater than kings or gods.

POV: The True Ice Dragon – YvraineYvraine's massive eyes, burning with rage and grief, widened in shock. She felt the power—not from him, but through him. It was a power that transcended all gods, all creation, all time.

The Supreme Being.

The very essence she had served and sought to honor through her ancient pact.

Her breath faltered, and for the first time in countless centuries, doubt seeped into her heart.

Why… why does she choose you, human?

The fire of her wrath clashed with the cold realization of her plight. Her children—the last of her lineage—were dying. And the boy, this mortal before her, was offering something no power on earth could give—hope.

Jason's voice rang through the storm, steady and absolute.

"Yvraine. You are a mother fighting for your children. I am a prince fighting for my people. But I do not wish to fight you."

The wind paused, awaiting her answer.

"Your eggs are dying, but I can save them. All of them. Even the one you lost."

Yvraine's body trembled. Anguish, hatred, and sorrow warred within her. Her massive claws dug into the earth, cracking the frozen stone beneath.

"LIES!" she roared, though her voice wavered. "No mortal wields such power!"

Jason's aura flared brighter, and from within his chest, a fragment of the Supreme Being's presence manifested—undeniable, absolute.

"I do not speak as a mortal. I speak as one who carries the Supreme Being's will. Swear your loyalty to me, and I will return what was taken from you."

A pulse of divine power surged from him, and before her, a vision formed. Her eggs—glowing, pulsating with life. The lost egg—revitalized, reborn. Her children—whole and blessed, destined for immortality under her watch.

The ground quaked from the weight of her choice.

Yvraine, the Eternal Frost, bowed her colossal head.

"Do this," her voice rumbled, with pain, "and I will be yours. My wings, my fangs, my children—all will serve your cause until the end of time."

Jason raised his hand, and from his palm emerged a golden sigil, ancient and unbreakable.

[Soul Pact – Covenant of Eternal Frost] ActivatedA beam of radiant gold shot from his hand, piercing into Yvraine's massive forehead. The sigil expanded, encasing them both in a sphere of divine power as the pact was forged. The air grew still, the winds hushed, and the world seemed to hold its breath.
