Fifteen minutes ago...
The hall erupted in cheers, as they watched the screens showcasing different examinees fighting.
The top 5 in the rankings especially, were overwhelmingly superior to their peers.
"Hey look at that". Someone shouted pointing to one of the screens showcasing a red haired examinee facing off three mutated beasts.
Although not as overwhelming as the top 5, he still managed to kill the beasts.
The crowd still erupted into a cheer.
"Man. Aren't the examinees of this year just unbelievable. I mean even someone not in the top hundred is taking down three mutated beasts on their own".
Someone said and soon there were conversations about how this year's examinees were above the others.
"Ohh." Someone exclaimed and they all looked ta the screen.
"No way".
"Man. He's done for now".
"Damn. Bad luck huh".
The red haired boy on the screen was now currently being approached by a slightly bulky man in rags, unkempt black hair and beards.
"He ran into one of the fantasian prisoners?"
At this point the screens were all showing the boy who was the first amongst his set to run into a fantasian.
"Shit. No one has ever beaten a fantasian soldier when they were just starting the exam".
Someone said. He wasn't lying. No beginner cadet has ever beaten a fantasian soldier in the exam.
This was because the fantasians released into the exam grounds possessed strength nearly rivalling, no rivalling Class one officers.
Cadets couldn't match that strength. Regular cadets anyway. And in the last hundred years, no aspiring cadets has ever been able to beat any of the fantasian prisoners.
Most of them knew that this guy was cooked now.
They watched the screen as the fight started and as they expected, the boy couldn't keep up with the prisoner.
And soon he was knocked out. The man walked towards the boy's unconscious body as everyone just stared at them.
Just as the man was about to disqualify the boy, he suddenly opened his eyes and got up.
But this time, he had a clearly different vibe to him. So much so that they all wondered if he was even the same person as earlier.
And their suspicions were immediately proven right. The man and the boy clashed again but this time things were different.
The man was the one on the ropes this time. No matter what it was he did, the boy always had a response to it.
No matter the attack he used, the boy would easily dodge or parry.
He was a completely different person from earlier. And soon the boy began to overpower the fantasian prisoner.
"O..oi. He's.. he's winning". Someone muttered.
And soon different types of shouts could be heard throughout the hall. Some found this impossible that a mere sixteen year old was already strong enough to go toe to toe. No scratch that.
That a mere sixteen year old was strong enough to overwhelm an experienced fantasian soldier.
Even the Class six officers in their private rooms at this point were focused on the fight on their screens.
"Oh boy. This year's applicants really are monsters." Mikhail said with an exasperated tone.
Linus just squinted his eyes as he looked at the boy on the screen.
"Hey. That's Joseph's brat right?". The only female Class six officer in the room spoke.
Hearing this Lancelot had a grin on his face.
"Hoo. So that's Joseph's illegitimate son huh". He said.
He then turned to look at the woman, Charlotte Blake.
"He's quite talented don't you think, Charlotte".
Charlotte just kept him silent, and simply kept staring at the screen.
As everyone was watching, the boy then using the grappling hook took away the man's sword.
Then a space between his shoulder blades in his suit opened, as a magnificent pair of white wings unfurled.
The boy then took to the skies as he brought out an energy rifle.
The man's eyes screamed of disbelief over what he was seeing. He threw countless fire balls at the boy which the boy just casually dodged.
He then aimed his rifle at the man and began charging it.
Then before everyone's eyes he pulled the trigger.
The man dodged the first one but zero luck dodging the second.
The second hit, incinerating him to ash. And he was dead.
Silence.
Absolute silence presided over the hall before cheers erupted.
For the first time in almost a century, an aspiring cadet, had killed one of the Fantasian prisoners in the entrance exam.
A second later, the Ai managing the exam announced the automatic admission of Nathaniel Hunt for killing one of Terra's enemies as a cadet.
Lancelot and the other Class six officers sat back in their chairs. They weren't too surprised that Nathan had killed the prisoner after seeing that fight.
But now they were intrigued and worried at the same time.
Not particularly for Nathan's well being but rather that a potential asset for Terra would be harmed.
Why? Because he's Joseph's illegitimate son. And there's no way in hell, that Evangeline was going to just let the boy be.
At least not now. Now that the boy was making waves and showcasing his talent.
The particular headache for them? Evangeline is from one of the ruling houses.
