Kal Mountain Cave

Although Henry had never come back to the village after he was taken as a disciple by that powerful senior back then, Ms. Rose still welcomed him with a beaming smile on her face.

Since she was also a cultivator, she appeared the same as she had in the past; there was no sign of aging on her face at all.

Asher had also run over to greet Henry, as he was now the oldest member of the orphanage since all the others above the age of 18 had already moved out to start their own lives.

But contrary to Asher's expectations, Henry looked coldly at Asher and ignored him, as though talking to him would lower his own status.

Ms. Rose's smile also faded when she saw this. Among all the children in the orphanage, Asher was the closest to her, and he was the only one who stayed behind to help the orphanage even after he became capable of starting a life outside.

Seeing Henry's attitude, she sighed in her heart.

Asher, on the other hand, scratched his head awkwardly and stepped aside. He didn't take this small incident to heart.

If this had been Alvin interacting with Henry just now, he would surely have looked back at him coldly, even if he knew he would be beaten up.

After this small incident, Rose and Henry entered Rose's office, and the door was closed.

Asher didn't know what they were talking about, so he ignored them and started doing some small chores like trimming the decorative grass around the orphanage.

Ever since he was 15, all these chores had been handled by him.

Just as Asher was happily trimming the grass while humming his favorite album song,

"Bang..."

A loud explosion was heard from the side of Rose's office.

Asher threw the grass cutter in his hands to the ground and rushed to the office. Many children from the orphanage had already crowded the area.

They all moved aside when they saw Asher, as he was the eldest brother of the orphanage in their eyes, and he held considerable respect in these little kids' hearts.

Upon seeing what had happened in front of Rose's office, Asher was stunned.

Henry, who had come wearing expensive clothes and exuding a noble air, was now lying on the ground in front of the office with blood flowing out of his mouth in a very sorry state.

Turning to the other side, Rose's office door was now broken, and she was standing there with an indifferent look on her face, as though nothing had happened.

"Asher, tell your brothers and sisters to go back to their rooms," Rose said to Asher seriously.

"Everyone, you heard what Mom said. Go back to your rooms." He then added in a soft voice, "I will tell you what happened afterward."

Upon hearing this, the kids gave Asher a look that said, "You better keep your promise, or I won't talk to you," and ran back to their rooms.

After all the kids returned to their rooms, Rose slowly walked toward Henry.

"You became a member of my family when you were only 3 years old. I can still recall you from back then when I found you. You were so thin and frail that I could literally count the number of bones in a human body just from looking at you."

Rose came near Henry and continued in an expressionless tone, "From that day on, I became your mom, and you became a part of my family. I don't want you to pay me back for taking care of you when you were young, but at least don't come to me with such ridiculous requests ever again."

Asher was clueless about the whole situation, so he obediently stood by the side without making a sound.

"Mom… hahaha… Ms. Rose, you truly are funny. I was ignorant back then. How can a woman like you be my mother? If you really think I am your son, why don't you give me that Life Spring? I already told you my master is ready to pay you any amount you say," Henry arrogantly replied despite lying on the ground like a fallen tree.

Rose closed her eyes and said gently, "Child, I already told you, I don't have that thing in my hand. It's true that we entered the depths of Kal mountain cave back then and reached the Lake of Life, but it's not something that gives others life; it's something that drains the life of anything that gets near it."

"My entire team was wiped out back then. Even I was seriously injured."

Henry looked at Rose with a mocking grin on his face. "Ms. Rose, it looks like you don't plan to give me that thing. Fine, I won't fuss over that. At least tell me where the Pond of Life is. That shouldn't be a problem for you, right?"

Rose shook her head. "You are underestimating the danger level of that place. Forget about this matter. Also, I haven't said this to any of my children until now, but you forced me to. Don't come back ever again."

Henry slowly stood up from the ground and muttered a single word, "Heal."

The next second, a golden light surrounded Henry, and the bruises he had on his body, including the wound on his mouth, healed at a speed visible to the naked eye.

"Ms. Rose, there are about 100 children in the orphanage right now, right?" Henry asked while dusting his white shirt.

Rose's eyes narrowed. "Are you threatening me? Don't think you and your master are the only persons with power and connections in this world. I am also a king-level cultivator with enough face in the upper echelons of Celestia."

"No… no… how can I threaten you? As for face, these days, it can be easily bought with money, How about i gave you a small demo here, " Henry said with a chuckle.

He then turned to Asher, who was standing to the side, and said arrogantly, "Hey, pretty boy. I know you are fed up with life here. Want to come with me? I'll make sure you live a life 100 times better than rotting here in this orphanage."

Asher smiled and shook his head. "Thanks for the offer, Senior Henry, but I like the life here. After all, to me, this is my home. How could other luxuries compare to the warmth of one's family?"

The smile on Henry's face stiffened. He sneered, "You truly are a frog at the bottom of the well, with no knowledge of how big the ocean is."

"Enough. I already told you, you are not welcome here anymore. Get out!" Rose shouted angrily.

Seeing Rose's expression, Henry swallowed the words he was about to say and left the place with a gloomy look on his face.

"Little Asher, come to my room after giving John a call to repair the broken door," Rose said to Asher and walked to her room, which was beside her office.

Asher hurriedly ran into the office to use the landline to give John a call about the door. After explaining the situation in detail to the man for about five minutes, he hung up the phone and walked toward Rose's room.
