Bureau Zero

[ Bureau Zero ]

In an office somewhere within the Zeneth Academy, a young girl with blue eyes, dark circles under them—a symbol of her exhausting work—sat quietly at her desk. She was strikingly beautiful, with golden hair, and as she signed various papers, she suddenly reacted strangely.

"What's this???"

Her passive spell, Prescience, had detected an imminent danger. Within the academy's walls, she couldn't discern all the details, but at this rate, the entire academy would be razed to the ground.

"Are we going to be attacked?"

"But by what, by who, and why now?"

"No, now's not the time!"

She then called out,

"BlueKnight."

The infamous BlueKnight appeared seemingly out of nowhere.

"I'm out, go to the treasury and bring me my entire Arsenal set, then immediately notify the Adventurer's Guild leader, the king, and get the thirteen scattered across the continent to be here in 20 minutes!!!"

BlueKnight:

"Is it that serious?"

"Yes," the girl nodded.

The academy was the size of a small town, so if something could wipe it out, the danger level was immense. "It's even more serious because I didn't see it coming," she added.

Then, the two disappeared together.

"By the Colosseum!"

The girl found herself directly at the arena in the professors' pavilion.

The professors, surprised, wondered where this little girl could have come from.

Stromeddeger then asked what the director was doing here.

Indeed, few people knew this, even among the professors—this little girl was the director of the academy.

She glanced around, noticing the child of the Doscheni family and a summoning circle, with Jerfrost's circle as well, but it was too late. A beam of light shot from Rina's body, tearing the fake sky, seemingly expanding more and more.

If nothing was done, the entire arena, maybe even more, would be blown away. Taking the lead, she cast a protective spell on everything present. The Colosseum's defensive spells would be insufficient, so she also cast a compression spell around the beam. The beam didn't shrink, but she managed to stop it from expanding further.

"What did this fool just summon???" she wondered.

Then the beam evaporated.

Rina had struggled to get up, with dust clouding the area, making it hard to see what was going on. Everyone was perplexed, eyes fixed on the arena.

The director could finally breathe, though she had used a lot of energy, no one had noticed in such a short time.

Stromeddeger:

"Director, are you okay?"

"What happened?"

Director:

"Yes, don't worry, we were heading straight for disaster, that's why I came."

All the professors present were in complete confusion. Stromeddeger, who wasn't even someone of high rank, was talking to a girl whom he presented as the director.

"As for what's happening, I'd like to know that too!"

Everyone was a bit bewildered, but visibility was slowly improving, and they could see a figure near Rina, resting comfortably on the ground.

Was it her familiar???

It turned out to be a handsome young man, naked, with long black hair, who himself was bewildered by the situation.

Summoned:

"But wait, can you see me?"

Screams erupted from the stands. "Of course we can see you!!! What are you?!"

There were many questions; some girls were embarrassed, while others found him handsome, sparking many questions and stirring jealousy among the men.

"What the heck am I doing here? I was somewhere above the Demon Islands!"

After quickly examining his body, he noticed a mark on his right hand. He recalled that this was the signature between a summoner and their familiar. And nearby, Rina stood.

Summoned: "So that's what it is!"

The man didn't know how to express his emotions.

He then materialized clothes on his body.

"Oh, is this possible? I just tried it and here I am, covered."

"It must have been about 4 million years since I had any interaction… I don't think I'm mistaken, my memory is infallible, but that might not be the case with this body!"

Stromeddeger:

"A familiar with a human appearance? A high-ranking spirit? That's rare… How did she manage to summon it? Something's off!!!"

Director:

"I was planning to cancel this event, but this summoning is strange. I've never seen such an existence. It has the same constitution as a spirit, but it's something different!"

"By the way, you'll answer for what's going on here later!"

A familiar with a human appearance was common, contrary to Stromeddeger's assumptions, but there were also those who could take on such a form. The director thought. However, what Rina had summoned was fundamentally different, yet still similar.

"But this one is really strange. I'll need to observe. If things go wrong, I can always intervene," she thought.

Just then, she received a telepathic message from BlueKnight.

Lost in thought, the voice of BlueKnight interrupted her reflection.

BlueKnight: "I've already informed the 13, they'll be here on time, and I've grabbed your arsenal!"

"Good!!!"

"For the king and the Adventurer's Guild, you can leave them. I thought we were under attack, but it's not the case. No need to cause a ruckus!"

BlueKnight: "Then I'll send the ring!"

A ring appeared before the director, which she grabbed and put on.

The director now watched intently to see what would happen next.

Summoned:

"I must be in the Falasia kingdom, judging by their clothes. And this is the Academy of Magic!!!"

Xerces had regained his composure, fueled by his pride, and unleashed all his magical power.

Xerces:

"You managed to summon a spirit, and so what?"

The summoned man simply watched.

"Don't get too full of yourself. Your place is in the kitchen, making meals and bearing children for me. Go back home, and I'll make you suffer every day!!!"

Incantation:

"Magic is the source of phenomena. I shape my environment according to my desires. Answer my call, elements that make up this world. Take the form I wish and crush my opponent."

Torrent of Water followed by a Wind Blade Cascade.

The summoned man wasn't even fazed by the spell, which wasn't the case for his summoner, who was thrown back and injured by the multiple blades from the technique.

Her plan had simply been to make a good impression to validate her cycle with the cores, which should have been enough. With this spirit, the professors should have stopped the fight a long time ago.

But it seemed her torment wasn't going to end. Deep inside, she firmly called for the spirit's help, but he remained unmoved. In the end, was she really this useless???

"Even my own summoning won't obey my commands," she thought bitterly to herself.

Liza:

"What are you doing, Mr. Familiar? Can't you see she needs you? Do something, move, don't just stand there!!!"

Liza was about to jump into the arena herself, but was held back just in time.
