Generosity Of Degeneracy

Okay, base content of first expansion: done. Patch content is up after this. Skip the credits, and… there's a character waiting for me.

A Hewmitahl character named Rhomby. Well, I say Hewmitahl, but Magys Regal actually calls them Hoomyns. All of which I know as humans. But whatever. Point is, one is here.

Light blonde and spiky hair, casual clothes of a tannish yellow and light brown coloration, and a massive, shining axe from what I believe is the second of the two Optimaximum Raids.

I would ask who they are… but I already see a face to face call notification from Len out of the corner of my eye on the actual MPC's monitor projection. Alright, let's see what they want.

Len has short twintails with the same hair color as Rhomby, who I presume to be her character, her fangs are actively visible, and she has some long ears.

"..."

I'll wait for her to say something before I speak, since she initiated the chat.

"... Smash."

That's all she says before falling backwards bursting into laughter. I was worried she might bother her siblings, but I could see Mo and Zoops with some earbuds shaped for their cat ears. Must be noise canceling or something.

… Wait, by "smash", does she mean-

"W-well, that's quite a way to greet someone…!"

Len scrambles to get back into view, trying to hold back their laughter.

"No no no, I won't actually! It's just a compliment, a compliment!"

… I see? Guess I can try to let it slide.

"No offense taken, Len."

They're much more hyperactive than their typing style portrayed. Then again, perhaps it's like that because they type so fast? It's not like they were acting uninterested during the few seconds of the siblings' fire gathering that I watched, so really, the fault lies with me for assuming. Since it makes an ass out of you and me.

"I'm guessing Rhomby is you?"

"Mhm! Which makes you Onedis. Amalgam's an interesting choice. I usually tank as a Champion, but I don't mind using Savage instead."

Champion would've been my second choice for the Challenger sub-role I went with. Focuses on two-handed weapons and has a skill that lets you temporarily dual wield two of them, regardless of how improbable it'd be for your character to do so.

Savage is similar but it's a Damager sub-role and it only uses two-handed axes, and its gimmick is that it lets you make a copy of your current weapon out of your own rage.

"Anyway, wanna party up? I'll be brought down to your level for the dungeons and raids, but it should still make things go faster."

That is true. Queuing in a non-filled party does mean two out of four roles are already filled, which means I won't have to wait as long. Plus they know the content already.

"Fine with me, sending an invite now."

Right click on Rhomby and send party invite. It's accepted, so let's go.

"Hmm, she reminds me of Ogaay-Yu..."

Oh, guess Kandance is up. I'll bring up the thing I saw from her dream cloud when the call with Len ends. Good thing I enabled a "push to talk" setting for the MPC's voice chat. Otherwise my party member would hear me talking to seemingly nobody.

"Would they happen to be the Gaolras pontifex of your first visit?"

Since the seventh month is called Ogaayresia, which I saw in the birthday selection menu when making Onedis, and the order seems to be the same as the race introduction minus the Dreimaaz from Kandance's out of date video, it was an educated guess.

"Were you getting info while I was asleep or something?"

"Saw the month name in the game."

"Ah. W-well, I have that kind of info too if you REALLY need to know it…"

One, you revel in keeping this kind of stuff from me. Two, I don't wanna burden you while you're already having a rough time.

"But yes. Ogaay-Yu was one of my pontifices. One of the first cat Gaolras, likely an ancestor to those three."

"And Len is the most like them because…?"

"It's not because they share a gender, in case you're wondering."

I wasn't.

"Ogaay-Yu was… unpredictable. Sometimes she knew exactly what to say. And sometimes she'd tackle hug me from behind for no reason…"

"Affection? Admiration?"

"Because she could."

Ah. Well they were still a pontifex, so it clearly wasn't a deal breaker for Kandance.

"Len gives me the same feeling. Just ask her something and see what I mean."

"Mkay."

I press the button to turn on a magic mic. Very convenient and always having audio pickup of crisp, high quality.

"Hey Len, what do you think of Leopold?"

Leopold is one of the plot-important characters in Magys Regal. A Kamamein king, though Kymein and Kamamein are one race called Krohves in the game. From what I remember of the small bit of text I saw while rapidly clicking through dialogue, our character saved him in a sidequest during the base game. Then we backed him as a supporter in the first expansion to help him become the next ruler of the Krohves' homeland.

Anyway, I wait for a response from Len… who ends up typing something in the game's party chat instead.

"djsibzzos cbc cos cps inoznaosiinsa"

Keyboard smash. Flustered.

"peg twink"

Damn. Very honest.

"See? I have no clue what she's talking about!"

"First thing was her pressing random keys due to being flustered. Peg means to do sexual things to their butt via penetration and toys. And twink means a thin and young male, sometimes one that is attracted to men or both men and women."

"..."

I can see a loading circle spinning above Kandance's head as she processes all that information with a blank expression. Just gotta give her a bit…

"... My point still stands. Very unpredictable."

"Either way, I can tell she's not malevolent. Len just has… very interesting taste."

I've seen them do emotes near both male and female NPCs, plus some monsters. It makes for a fun game where I guess in my head if she's gonna do it to an NPC or enemy I walk by or not. Very entertaining for someone who has been playing this shit in one sitting as long as I have.

"Smash."

I type that out right before she reaches a new NPC and emotes towards them.

"Ahhhhh!"

Len embarrassingly yells out in the voice chat, and all I do is smirk. Yup, I can tell she's having fun too.
