Chapter - 5

Bai Ye didn't waste any time and immediately began practicing. He started by familiarizing himself with the state of his body. When he waved his hand, he felt an overwhelming surge of power, as if the very fabric of space might tear apart. However, instead of exploding, the space around him rippled and then returned to normal.

Ding! "It's fine. The system has reinforced the space, so there won't be any issues."

Hearing the system's prompt, Bai Ye realized his intuition was correct. The force he had just exerted could have easily collapsed the space around him.

Next, he tried to suppress his strength, making himself appear as an ordinary person. He waved his hand again, gradually increasing the power. After five minutes, Bai Ye felt he had complete control over his divine body.

Ding! "I thought it would take you 10 to 20 minutes, but you managed it in less than five—4 minutes and 27 seconds, to be exact."

The system was slightly surprised. It hadn't expected Bai Ye to adapt so quickly. His talent was terrifyingly high, even though he had only just regained his memories and was new to these powers.

For someone starting from scratch to master such power so swiftly was impressive. Even the system, which could normally assist the host in adjusting and controlling their abilities, was taken aback. It had chosen not to intervene, wanting to see how far Bai Ye could go on his own. After all, Bai Ye was an enigma even to the system.

Hearing this, Bai Ye couldn't suppress a smile but forced himself to respond humbly, "It's nothing special, really." The system, recognizing the false modesty, decided not to call him out on it.

Bai Ye then moved on to experimenting with his abilities. He wanted to recall the specific powers associated with the Chaos Force. The most iconic figure that came to mind was the Scarlet Witch.

If Bai Ye remembered correctly, the Chaos Force allowed for matter manipulation, causality alteration, creation ex nihilo, space-time distortion, cloning, dimension creation, and even rewriting physical laws. In short, it was the ultimate reality-warping ability. However, the Scarlet Witch's powers were somewhat passive, weren't they?

Or was it that his upgraded version, combined with the mutation, allowed him to wield it freely? He decided to test it by creating something out of thin air. Instantly, a pistol appeared in his hand. He then dismissed it and conjured a long sword instead.

Bai Ye threw the sword to the ground and said, "Erase." The sword vanished as if it had never existed.

When Bai Ye stopped channeling the power, he felt like an ordinary person again. It seemed he could activate and deactivate the ability at will. He recalled that the Scarlet Witch needed to use magical gestures, but he required nothing of the sort.

"Damn! System, this ability isn't passive?"

Ding! "The upgraded version is different from the original. If you couldn't control it, what would be the point?"

"Not to mention, you're undergoing a mutation. If you and someone else tried to alter reality in opposing ways, you'd definitely come out on top."

"Impressive."

Bai Ye was having a blast. In an instant, lightning filled the sky above the city. As the bolts descended, he transformed them into daggers, creating a rain of blades. He even conjured an Ultraman for fun.

Damn, this ability was incredible!

The system observed Bai Ye's antics and couldn't help but sigh. This guy was truly enjoying himself in his ignorance. It noted that the mutated power had become an extension of Bai Ye's will, fully under his control. There were some things the system didn't mention, though. While Bai Ye could toggle the power on and off, he still needed the capacity to handle it.

After ten minutes of experimentation, Bai Ye felt he had a good grasp of the power. As for the Pear God Physique, there was no way to test it without a subject.

Without further ado, the system lifted the time freeze.

Bai Ye opened his eyes, looked at Kirishima Shoko, and said with a smile, "Remember, you can't go back on your promise."

"Okay."

Kirishima Shoko stared at Bai Ye, his ordinary face still wearing a smile. She thought he was finding some twisted joy in their dire situation.

"Kid, you're dreaming if you think you're surviving this."

The man holding Bai Ye spoke up.

"Little brother, I can help you get rid of your worries with a knife. Don't think about having a harem in your next life."

Another woman chimed in, but Bai Ye just smiled.

"To be honest, I'm very grateful to you."

Everyone was confused. How could he be thanking them in this situation? Was he insane?

"The blood on my head is because of you. I was hit and nearly died."

"At the same time, because you put me in a life-and-death situation, my lost memories returned."

"And now, my power has been unlocked."

While Bai Ye's power was granted by the system, it wasn't entirely false to say it had been "unlocked." After all, he had absorbed so much energy that his body was continuously growing stronger. The system had explained that his power would keep evolving as he integrated more of what he had absorbed.

As soon as Bai Ye finished speaking, the leader sensed something was wrong. Without hesitation, he summoned a female ghost with long, sharp nails. She lunged at Bai Ye, aiming to kill him.

"The three of you will become ordinary, powerless people."

The moment Bai Ye said this, the shikigami and ghosts surrounding the three captors vanished. Their grips on Bai Ye and Kirishima Shoko loosened, and they collapsed like weaklings.

Bai Ye broke free, pulled Kirishima Shoko to his side, and stepped back, observing the three bewildered individuals.

"How does it feel to be ordinary?"

Bai Ye's words struck like a thunderbolt. The three of them trembled, pointing at him in disbelief.

"You... you... you—"

"Who are you?"

"Ah! My strength—where has it gone?"

"Damn it, why can't I connect to my ghost principle or my red robes?"

The three realized that the power they had cultivated was completely gone. Even their enhanced physical abilities had vanished, leaving them as ordinary, powerless humans.

Bai Ye smirked. "You asked where your strength went? Didn't you hear what I just said? You've become ordinary people with no power. Where do you think your strength comes from now?"

His words echoed in their minds like a death knell.

"The three of you will become the weakest bugs."

Without giving them a chance to respond, Bai Ye activated his power again. In an instant, the three captors disappeared, replaced by three bugs crawling on the ground. An insecticide bottle materialized in Bai Ye's hand, which he handed to Kirishima Shoko.

"These guys kidnapped you. Do you want to finish them off yourself?"

Kirishima Shoko was utterly stunned. Bai Ye's ability was like something out of an exaggerated novel—reality itself bending to his words. Even people could be turned into bugs instantly. This wasn't just extraordinary; it was downright absurd.

Her family had connections to people with supernatural abilities, but she had never encountered anything like this. This was on a completely different level.

Looking at the insecticide in Bai Ye's hand, Kirishima Shoko snapped out of her daze and shook her head hurriedly, afraid he might spray it without waiting for her response.
