Ryan felt a stinging pain in his body and his heart felt it's twisted by something. He kneeled and coughed blood while a dark energy flowed into his body and settled. Then the uncomfortable feeling vanished. Ryan frowned and looked at the status. The Demonic power stat is there and gluttony is changed.

That's something. Demonic Power, he heard about this. Some awakeners possessed this ability. Either by their unique skills or by making a contract with demons. Demonic power is useful when dealing with entities that can seal mana. Demonic power is more like uncontrollable chaotic energy that try to destroy everything.
Opposite to this is the holy / divine power generated by angels and gods. Ryan observed the scorched pit and searched for any traces of life or item. Detecting nothing he turned back and ran towards the safe zone. When he got there he still got 10 minutes left. His change of outfit and the space pouch made him a target too.
As Ryan is thinking about his next plans a sudden announcement appeared :

Ryan chuckled inwardly with a sigh. Nobody said anything about a ranking system in the tower. Is it because of the secrecy. But this isn't supposed to be hidden right? Even his parents didn't mention this once when they're alive. As he gazed at the notification he can't help but sigh.
His ranking will be quite high considering he is lv 15. He don't know if the other teams with equipment will be higher. Who knows if they do something to bring a high level item into the tower. From the moment and anomaly like a necromancer who is lv 35 appeared in tower. He has a hunch there are ways to breach the system of the tower. But there is also his guess. That necromancer is sealed to lv 20. That means even if they breach there must be certain restrictions.
As he is thinking one of the players walked towards him. She bowed slightly and said," thank you for saving us ", Ryan just nodded. He is still wearing the mask and changed his original eye and hair colour. With the light armour set and black coloured assassin dress he is wearing made him unrecognisable.
After that girl, a group of awakeners appeared. They're not the ones he rescued but the ones that stopped any players from entering the route they chose. They looked quite arrogant, the group is left by a girl who looked same age as him. She said something to the awakener beside her and that guy nodded at her.
He took a card, then said while giving it to him," you're lucky to caught her eye dude. She is Maria Arandell, the daughter of George Arandell, who is the guild master of Thunderbird Guild. You'll get many benefits joining the team and will get a wooping sum of 20 million and previliges like artifacts and potions depending on your performance. It's your lucky day, all you have to do is to tell her your awakened skill and sign the contract. How about it? It's a good deal isn't it? What's your answer?".

His gaze sent a shiver down that awakener's spine as he took out his sword instinctively and said," bastard I didn't like you the moment I caught the sight of you. Die ", Ryan slapped the awakener while he rolled to the nearby tree and lay there upside down. He ignored the gasps from the crowd and glares from the team of awakeners who saw what happened to their team mate. Maria though looked at him seriously.
Ryan asked again," I have questions regarding your deal. Will you answer those or will you send another one to be beaten ? ", Maria curled her lips with an arrogant smile and asked," interesting. This is the first time someone dared to oppose me. Ask you questions but I'll only answer if the question doesn't irritate me and if you irritate me too much you'll be asking for a beating ".
The team mates cracked their knuckles while Ryan asked," can I quit after joining the guild without any compensation? ", Maria frowned and said," you can ".
