Prologue: The Shattered Sky

The night sky was torn apart.

Luminous streaks of violet light carved through the darkness as if the heavens themselves were bleeding. From his perch on the crumbling rooftop, Kai Hayashi stared at the spectacle, his heart pounding like a war drum. The air buzzed with an unnatural hum, and a gust of wind carried the faint scent of ash and iron.

"This is it…" Kai muttered, his hand tightening around the hilt of the worn katana strapped to his side. "The beginning of the end."

Behind him, the familiar sound of boots echoed against the shattered tiles. He didn't need to turn around to know it was her.

"You're still watching the sky like a lost kid, Kai?" teased Reina Akizuki, her voice carrying the sharpness of a blade but softened by a hidden warmth. Her silver hair shimmered faintly in the eerie light, and her violet eyes bore into him with equal parts annoyance and concern.

"Lost? Maybe," Kai replied, forcing a grin. "But at least I'm not hiding in a bunker like the others."

Reina sighed, stepping forward to stand beside him. Her fingers brushed against her own weapon—a sleek, futuristic rifle with glowing runes etched along the barrel. "You do realize that thing won't save you, right?" she said, gesturing at his sword.

"Maybe not," he admitted, "but it's all I've got."

Their conversation was cut short as a deafening roar shook the ground beneath them. In the distance, a massive, shadowy figure emerged from the light, its form blotting out the stars. Its eyes glowed a fiery red, and its guttural growl sent shivers down their spines.

Kai took a shaky breath. "So, that's it. The Titan of Dusk."

Reina raised her rifle, her voice steady despite the chaos. "And it's here to devour the world. What's the plan, hero?"

Kai smirked, his grip on the katana firm. "Same as always. We fight, we bleed… and we hope we don't die."
