"Damn it! Push it back! Gabite, use Dragon Rage! Nidoking, use Thunderbolt! Arbok, get ready to use Protect!!"

As the enormous Dragon Rage attack came crashing down, Liam barely had time to finish his commands before the massive shadowy figure went berserk.

Liam had no choice but to fight back.

The destructive power of this creature was simply too great. If he let this giant continue its rampage, who knows what kind of chaos it would cause once it reached the shore.

This wasn't because Liam was some selfless hero who didn't know how to run away. It was because this creature's true form was likely a Dragonite, and Dragonite could fly.

Although Liam couldn't recall this giant ever flying in his memories, there was no guarantee it wouldn't. Right now, Arcanine hadn't gotten far yet, and Liam needed to buy some time.

Of course, if he could complete the mission, that would be the best outcome!

"Roar!!"

"Nido!! Roar!!"

Gabite and Nidoking roared in unison!

A Dragon Rage and a Thunderbolt shot upward, colliding with the massive Dragon Rage from above. For a moment, the attacks were locked in a stalemate.

However… it was futile. Gabite and Nidoking's attacks couldn't hold for more than three seconds before being overwhelmed by the massive shadow's Dragon Rage

The attack continued its unstoppable descent.

"Chaaa!!"

At the critical moment, Arbok stepped forward, unleashing a Protect barrier to meet the attack head-on.

Boom! Crash!

Shatter!

The sound of the Dragon Rage colliding with the Protect barrier echoed loudly. Due to the repeated obstacles, the massive Dragon Rage was deflected at a 140-degree angle after hitting Arbok's Protect

It slammed into the abandoned lighthouse behind them, causing a deafening explosion. The lighthouse crumbled into pieces, debris scattering everywhere.

Liam was knocked to the ground by the shockwave. He turned to see the once towering lighthouse, now reduced to rubble.

If the Dragon Rage hadn't been deflected, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

"Roar!!!"

The massive shadow was clearly dissatisfied with the result of its attack. It let out a deafening roar, and yellow energy began gathering in its mouth once again.

"Damn it! It's coming again! Everyone, spread out! Distract this giant! Arbok, find a spot and charge up using Stockpile for a full-power Spit Up attack! Gabite, keep your distance and harass it from afar! Nidoking, let's head to the sea!"

Liam climbed onto Nidoking's back, and with a low growl, Nidoking leaped off the cliff, sliding down toward the ocean. Meanwhile, Gabite sprinted along the coastline, charging another Dragon Rage in its mouth.

Arbok, on the other hand, ducked into the lighthouse ruins, its body surrounded by red energy that it absorbed into itself.

The massive shadow in the fog suddenly saw its enemies scattering and hesitated, unsure which target to attack. After a moment of deliberation, it decided to focus on Nidoking, who had already reached the beach.

After all, that was the largest target.

"Don't be afraid, Nidoking! Ride the waves and dodge it!" Liam shouted from Nidoking's back.

"Nido!"

Nidoking suddenly halted its advance, and a massive wave surged beneath it. Riding the crest of the wave, Nidoking rose just in time to avoid the Hyper Beam

However, with a loud explosion, the wave beneath Nidoking shattered, and both Liam and Nidoking were thrown into the sea.

"Gabite!! Gabite!!"

Gabite, running along the shore, saw this and immediately fired its Dragon Rage upward. It then let out a series of anxious cries toward the sea.

Gabite's Dragon Rage hit the massive shadow's belly, creating a burst of sparks. The damage was minimal, but it successfully drew the creature's attention. The shadow let out a low growl, raised its right arm, and gathered electricity in its fist. It took a step forward and swung a Thunder Punch toward Gabite.

Gabite quickly burrowed into the ground, trying to evade the attack, but it failed.

The Thunder Punch struck the coastline with devastating force, causing the ground to crumble. Cracks spread like spiderwebs, and the entire section of the shore collapsed.

Gabite let out a cry of pain as it tumbled down with the falling debris.

"Roar!!"

The massive shadow, satisfied with its attack, raised its left arm. Flames engulfed its fist as it prepared to deliver a Fire Punch to Gabite, now buried in the rubble.

At that moment, a massive wave rose from the sea, crashing into the shadow and causing it to stagger. The Fire Punch missed its mark, striking the sand instead and sending a cloud of debris into the air.

"Roar?"

The shadow turned in confusion, only to see a purple Nidoking riding the waves, with Liam standing on its back. They had emerged from the sea after their earlier fall.

"Nidoking, use Earth Power!" Liam's eyes burned with anger as he patted Nidoking's back.

"Nido!!"

Nidoking used Earth Power while still riding the waves. The ground beneath the massive shadow began to shake violently, causing it to lose its balance.

However, the shadow suddenly spread a pair of massive wings and took to the air, dispersing the fog around it with powerful gusts of wind.

The true form of the shadow was finally revealed.

It was an enormous Dragonite, its eyes glowing red with rage. It was clearly in a state of frenzy, having lost all rationality.

The Dragonite had likely been in this state for some time, its violent aura having built up over a long period. It was unclear what had caused this Dragonite to go berserk.

"Roar!!"

The Dragonite roared, its eyes locking onto Liam. Yellow energy began gathering in its mouth once again.

But at that moment, a roar came from the rubble on the shore.

A brilliant white light shone brightly and immediately afterwards, the debris exploded outward as a much larger white figure shot into the air, soaring higher than the Dragonite.

A powerful draconic energy formed a phantom dragon in the sky, which then dive-bombed the Dragonite, striking its back with tremendous force.

The Dragonite cried out in pain, the energy in its mouth dissipating. The Dragon-type attack dealt significant damage, especially since it was one of the most powerful Dragon-type moves: Dragon Rush!

The Dragonite's wings faltered as it struggled to stay airborne. It slowly descended back into the sea, turning to glare at the white figure on its back. Its rage reignited, and it began forming a massive whirlwind.

Gabite, now a Garchomp, knowing it couldn't stay on the Dragonite's back for long, leaped into the air.

Just as Garchomp escaped, the Dragonite's body was suddenly wracked with yellow electricity. It roared in pain, and the half-formed whirlwind dissipated.

This was the lingering effect of Arbok's Glare, which had paralyzed the Dragonite earlier.

"Gabite? No… Garchomp! You evolved!"

Liam, still on Nidoking's back, was both shocked and overjoyed at Gabite's new form.

"Gar…!"

Garchomp flew over to Liam, nuzzling him affectionately with its large head.

"Great job, Garchomp! Our strength has increased significantly. This battle might just be winnable now! Garchomp, go all out! Take advantage of the Dragonite's paralysis and wear it down as much as possible!" Liam said, patting Garchomp's head.

"Garchomp!!"

Garchomp nodded and shot forward like a hurricane, reaching the Dragonite's back in an instant. It seemed to have a fondness for this position.

The phantom dragon reappeared, diving down and striking the Dragonite's back once again.

The Dragonite roared in pain, but the intense agony only fueled its rage. Its eyes snapped open, and its wings glowed brightly. With a powerful Dual Wingbeat, it struck Garchomp, sending the newly evolved Garchomp tumbling through the air.

Garchomp, dazed, began to fall from the sky. The Dragonite turned, its massive tail glowing with blue-purple energy. It swung its tail like a whip, striking Garchomp and sending it flying like a baseball.

Garchomp crashed into the rocky shore, severely injured.

"Roar!!"

The Dragonite wasn't done yet. It raised its right arm, electricity crackling around its fist, and prepared to deliver a Thunder Punch to Garchomp's fallen form.

"Garchomp!! Get up, Garchomp!!" Liam was stunned by the sudden turn of events. Just moments ago, things were looking up, but now…

"Garchomp!!" Liam's voice was filled with despair as he feared the worst for Gabite.

"Chaaa!!"

At the critical moment, a brilliant red beam shot out from the rubble, striking the Dragonite's right shoulder with tremendous force.

The impact sent the massive Dragonite flying, crashing into the sea and creating a huge wave.

This unexpected attack came from Arbok, who had been gathering all of its energy in the ruins for a final, desperate attack using Spit Up. Exhausted, Arbok collapsed after unleashing all of its power, saving its teammate at the last moment.

The attack was devastating.

Liam could see chunks of flesh flying from the Dragonite's shoulder.

Looking at the now-incapacitated Garchomp and Arbok, Liam felt a surge of panic and quickly ordered Nidoking to head to shore to rescue them.

But as Nidoking moved, another Dragon Rage shot out from the sea, slamming into the lighthouse ruins. In an instant, the ruins were flattened, and Arbok was nowhere to be seen.

"Arbok!!!" Liam's voice was filled with anguish as he stared at the scene in disbelief. He turned to the Dragonite, which was slowly rising from the sea, his eyes burning with fury.

"Nidoking!! Thunderbolt! Maximum power!!"

Liam, now consumed by rage, ordered Nidoking to unleash its full strength.

Nidoking, grieving for its fallen comrade, recalled all the memories it had shared with Arbok at Professor Oak's lab. With a determined roar, it unleashed a torrent of electricity, covering the entire coastline in lightning.

The Dragonite, still recovering, was struck by the powerful Thunderbolt and let out a deafening roar of pain.

But Nidoking was also suffering. Although Ground-types are immune to Electric attacks, Nidoking was in the water, making it vulnerable.

The intense discharge lasted only a few seconds before Nidoking lost consciousness and began to sink. Liam, now submerged in the cold water, quickly regained his composure.

He dove down, retrieved Nidoking's PokeBall, and returned it before resurfacing.

As Liam emerged from the water, he found himself face-to-face with the Dragonite's massive head. Its furious eyes locked onto him, and yellow energy began gathering in its mouth once again.

Liam calmly tossed Nidoking's PokeBall onto the shore, then turned to face the Dragonite with a bitter smile.

"Delia… it seems I won't be able to keep my promise… I'm sorry…"

"Roar!!"

The Dragonite unleashed a Hyper Beam, the yellow energy beam shooting straight toward Liam.

Exhausted and at his limit, Liam closed his eyes, accepting his fate.

But then…

As Liam closed his eyes, a familiar yet cold voice echoed in his ears.

"Cold-Divinity!!"
